Rifle Scopes Alpha Class High Magnification 6-36/7-35 FFP Scope Review

I’ve got the Schmidt 6-36 and have had a few 5-27 ZCOs. Optically, it’s a toss up between them at 27x. The ZCO may be ever so slightly better but honestly hard to say. To my eye, the Schmidt has a little CA whereas every ZCO I’ve had has none. FOV on the Schmidt at 6x is better than the ZCO at 5x. Schmidt softens a little bit especially above 30x but it’s still very good. View at 36x is similar to my 3-20 non US at 20x

SBR-Ing a AR pistol via Form 1. Anyone done one lately?

Do a trust. I just did a couple of cans and 1 was 7 days, the other three went throug together and were just over 3 weeks. my personal trust (not a SShop trust).

I'm going to do a form 1 soon on a rifle lower. My understanding is you need to have "available" the original configuration that you put on the paperwork, but yes, you can put any upper on the SBR lower (different length, calibers, etc) but ideally you should have the original configuration available (I have read mixed opinions on if you HAVE to have it available, but the consensus was that it might save you some headaches so just to keep it simple make sure you have that setup available (like a 12.5" 5.56 upper).

In my case it's a rifle now so I will wait till I get my stamp back, engrave the lower with my trust name and location (inside of magwell probably), then put the SBR upper on it.

X - Vectronix Shooting Solutions

I've had a chance to play around with the Vector X's a bit now at NRL Hunter and local PRS matches and I love them. The next toy showed up today for the Hunter match in Iowa at the end of the month… the Garmin 901.

Now to figure out what a workflow between the Vector X + Kestrel + Foretrex 901 looks like. /headache

Agreed, I am still figuring it out for the Vectors to Kestrel. If I competed I'd grab a 901 but I have no use for that awesome toy.

Died Suddenly Documentary World Is Live On Rumble

Remember, that it was not a 'thing' in the media until THE VERY DAY that Bernie and Bloomberg bowed out of the Democrat Primary and left the dementia-ridden Potato to be placed into office by mail-in voting.

It was know. It was circulating. It was being talked about. Buddy and I both got it in Jan 2020. And we knew the name. It was not until March that the press went "Full Pandemic" and the schools were shut and the grannies killed. THAT begin on the very day that the DNC nominee began his campaign locked in his basement. And got a record number of votes.

It was also ALL discussed here on SH pretty much from the beginning. Long before this thread started. It's all here, somewhere. Discussed, dissected. Including skepticism (in particular) about Fox and other news outlets. This place was 2 years ahead of the curve...

But there ya go.

Would be nice to reinstate that thread even if locked as a sticky so folks could see the things we noticed/figured out in a real time line.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Getting into wheel-guns: S&W 986 or 627 PC / V Comp?

I’m lusting over a 629 competitor ever since I put hands on one a few weeks ago. That would make a sweet range toy. They do a 686 version as well. I’d check one out if you’ve got a shop that stocks them nearby.

Wheel guns are just fun to shoot. I picked up a 686-5+ 4” dirt cheap at a pawn shop at the beginning of the year and have been shooting the shit out of it and it’s sent me down a wheel gun rabbit hole. It’s one of my favorite guns to take to the range and it’s really nothing special.

Don’t forget to get a new Marlin 1894 to pair with it.
I've had my 629 Competitor for 12 years. I can attest to it being a sweet shooting .44 mag.
