Maggie’s Motivational Pic Thread v2.0 - - New Rules - See Post #1

Without us cyclist getting lazy, money grabbing politicians off the stick, and getting those roads paved….you’d still probably be driving though two feet of muck on a vehicle that needed wheels and tires better suited to a model T Ford. (And struggling to get 10mph)

And I’m NOT FAT! :(.

And besides, why are you texting while driving.
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂

Maggie’s Funny & awesome pics, vids and memes thread (work safe, no nudity)

I spent a few years as a "ward of the state of Pennsylvania" in a Catholic orphanage, back when PA allowed religious organizations to receive state funding to intercede on children's behalf. We didn't have a lot in the orphanage, but we had enough food and clothing, and a safe place to sleep. I never faced the level of poverty some have, but I lived the "knock at the door and food box" thing when my mom was trying to get us back and had us only on the weekends.

I was in the military in some form (Active, Reserve and then Guard) from Nov 1976 - July 2018. When people would ask me why, I told them I was providing top cover for the nuns at the orphanage. And the lady with the food box. I'd deal with the despots and dictators if they watched over the kids. Some debts can never really be repaid. Every day in the suck was worth it.

Most people I know who complain about being poor don't know from poor. We were "resource limited" but I had my brother and sisters, so I have always counted myself rich beyond measure.

My mom raised four of us kids in 1963 in Louisiana after leaving my abusive dad ,no child support or snap ebt or welfare, never realized we were poor ,but one Thanksgiving morning there was a knock on the door when I went to see who it was there was a cardboard box on the porch and a car driving away , there was groceries in the box for Thanksgiving dinner, I seen tears in my mom's eyes , so I can relate to Merles song ,mama's hungry eyes.

Ukraine war Bullshit.

seems so. Ukraine is said to be very short of troops. if what i read is true, they don't have enough force to concentrate for a counter offensive. if they did, they would have to strip another area which would give the Russ another weak spot to hit. if an offense looks real,it could be let to advance then chopped off at the base for a big loss. like the 3rd battle of Kharkov in 1943?
looks like Ukraine has or is losing the air war. so,can't really hide what it is doing or it's strength at any spot.
looks like they are done for. just putting out a fire with gasoline.

Gender fluid Nigerian poet darling of literary world turns out to be 20-something white troll

This reminds me of The Grievance Studies from some years back - 2018. A group wrote a ridiculous set of "academic papers" and submitted them to journals around the world. One of them got published and received notoriety "Human reactions to rape culture and queer performativity at urban dog parks in Portland, Oregon" and some of the quotes from that paper are pure comedy gold.

here's a short video about them

Vudoo closed the doors…

I’d put my kid in my three quarter ton pickup and tell him to have fun then let him near my John Deere. True story, he was too small to reach the clutch at six, so I’d tell him to put it in first great and het the started. The old Ford would start (double low gear) and he’d drive it all over the pasture. (In double low).

Having seen exactly what can happen with a tractor and equipment, this picture is the closest I ever let him get to it and it wasn’t running at the time. (And that John Deere was a marvel of safety compared to the 8N and 650 Ford tractors I owned.) View attachment 8745967
My son, also 6, hit me up about learning to drive the tractor the other day. He thinks he's hot stuff now that he gets to mow the yard on the zeroturn.

He gets to drive the tractor sitting in my lap, but it'll be a while before he gets to go it alone. I pretty much make him responsible for driving, but I'm in the seat. He's learning quick, and he's surprisingly good at it for his size. Kids learn quick.

I learned tractors at a young age myself. I was riding on one from the time I could walk. At 7 or 8, my grandfather made me move the tractor in position and roll him into the front end loader to carry him back to the house for practice should something happen to him while we were out doing whatever.

He passed when I was 12 and I inherited the tractor. At that point, I pretty much took over all work around the homestead that tractor was associated with, and the maintenance of the machine itself. Still have it today.

My son on the mower taking a water break. Mowing is hot thirsty work.

So now we have tractors and lawnmowers in here. Sorry. I'll try to keep it on the topic of strictly tractors from here on out.
