Actually, Pearl Harbor IS a better analogy. The Japanese conducted a daring raid that was wildly successful.........except they failed destroy the aircraft carriers. And as such, despite all the sunken ships, they hadn't changed America's ability to project power in the Pacific. The result was they got their asses kicked back to their island and two cities melted by an adversary they couldn't go toe-to-toe with. And why should be fund you again?Wouldn't a 9/11 be flying jet liners into civilian skyscrapers? I thought the zigger lovers in here equated destroying their strategic to pearl harbor? But wouldn't that be full scale bombing a naval/air base and killing +2400 troops while not currently engaged in a hot war? Or are we just throwing out memorable bad things? Is the attack on the Kerch bridge the holocaust of bombings?
How totally observant of you…1911 guy has two right hands!
Tunnels scare me, I avoid them whenever possible. Imagine being in there and some moron touches of a truck full of fertilizer. And going in one in LA is out of the question.I think the easier approach would be, simply, to avoid the harbor tunnels, altogether. Avoid the Baltimore Harbor and Ft. McHenry Tunnels and use the bridges instead (Francis Scott Key Bridge, Chesapeake Bay Bridge, etc.). The reason why MTAP is so "omnipresent" at the tunnels is that they are a much harder asset to protect and represent a way much higher cost (both time & $$$) to repair or replace if destroyed by a terrorist attack or something. A bridge could be repaired/replaced relatively quickly. A tunnel, not so much. This is not to say that MTAP doesn't patrol the bridges either, but not as voraciously as the tunnels.
NOOOOOO BORTHER!!!
HODL THE LINE!!!
Attack was ineffective, and no card was played. Mother Russia is stronger with no people, no money, no army, and now no bombers.
Perhaps one of the most DELISH elements of Operation Web is that it exclusively and very precisely targeted military assets and deleted them.
Rooskie Animals heard about something called computer vision and thought they could put old Soviet tires on the wings to confuse autonomous attack platforms.

In the real world- those only helped them identify the Soviet strategic assets.
You could have parked an Aeroflot passenger plane right in between those tire-buried bombers and it would have been safe.
Ukraine gave Russia a 9/11, as in an event that galvanizes the citizens behind the desire to make war. They did so with an attack that changed their position on the battlefield fucking zero. It gained Ukraine NOTHING. Not a foot of ground. Not another day. Nothing. But it sure pissed Russia off. Great move. Why should we fund you again?Wouldn't a 9/11 be flying jet liners into civilian skyscrapers? I thought the zigger lovers in here equated destroying their strategic to pearl harbor? A couple shots from Sunday:We were @Mike Casselton. Missed you and your supreme spotting skills though. It was a great trip worth doing again.I
That’s what he wants you to believe. He’s carrying a Tranny. Fag.
That’s still a pretty significant degradation to the air component of their nuclear triad. And if a sub ended up being hit….
Wouldn't a 9/11 be flying jet liners into civilian skyscrapers?
I never said Russia didn't start it. I also never said Russia was right to invade. I disagree with both.Yes, everyone knows this - Russia gave up the world's 3rd nuclear potential and signed the Budapest Memorandum because it did not want a nuclear war.
Unlike Ukraine, which has been looking for excuses to attack all this time.
It gathered all its troops on the borders of Russia, supposedly for training. All world leaders started calling Zelensky and warned him many times not to do this. That it would be a disaster.
But unfortunately for the world, Zelensky did not listen to anyone and declared that he would capture Moscow in three days and would denazify, demilitarize everyone there and generally punish them for trying to carry out decommunization.
Offended by the encroachment on the sacred, he said so -
we will show you "decommunization"
And at the end of his speech, Zelensky added - why do we need such a world if there is no Ukraine in it?...
After that, everything flew in this direction.
I'm tired of explaining this to everyone here, but it seems like it should be like this, let everything go to hell, all of you.
Соси хуй, Ваня.
By the way, since all Eastern European historians here have at least a doctorate degree, I have a question: Why does the national instrument of мuscovites, the balalaika, have only three strings?
Waaaay too much time on your hands
Thanks. Do you keep the fire mounted there permanently? Or does your storage/transpo setup require you to remove it between range days and remount?
Seriously, ad hominem attacks?? You have done nothing but call Gunfighter grandpa, or boomer, or whatever. No real argument with him at all, just names. I called you an idiot because you are one, and told you why you are. Strawman? Seriously??? Its not a strawman argument to say Ukraine can't win, just survive. Its the truth. And here we discover the fundamental problem with your position. You have not accepted as truth that Ukraine cannot defeat Russia. That's cool you believe in free speech, me too, but calling everyone who disagrees with you dumb/democrat/hitler/maga/antifa/nazi/privilaged etc. is a rather reductive use of free speech and doesn't help prove a point when you're capable of coherent thought and conversation.
A point I never argued
Russia could launch nukes, sure, to accomplish what exactly? Russia uses those exact model of bombers to lob cruise missiles from safe distances into civilian population centers. Valid targets, successful strike, russia cries about "muh nooks!" and zigger appologists pearl clutch while the US and every NATO member is better for having less pieces the opposing side has a chess board. What percent of military hardware and soldiers KIA/WIA constitutes a threat? What do you consider a threat? Does having one nuclear weapon make you a threat? I don't understand your point, and won't revert to ad hominem, even though you opened up with one, and immediately went into a strawman.
I like analogies too. This is more like the United States launching a blitzkrieg on mexico, aiming for regime change in Mexico City, but being beaten back to within 30 miles of the border after three years and losing 54 strategic bombers in Alaska, Washington and Maine in a single day to FPV drones piloted in Cancun.
Which war did the US lose because of a lack of political support, and not undefined, unrealistic and unachievable political objectives by military means? MCDP-1, Warfighting qoutes Carl von Clausewitz;
"The political object is the goal, war is the means of reaching it, and the means can never be considered in isolation from their purposes"
Establishing a beacon of feminism and democracy in Afghanistan was never going to happen, nor propping up a puppet government in South Vietnam.
You're also wrong to think I'm a Ukrainian, and after watching a non-NATO, neighboring country completely dismantle the image of the big iron bear to be a rotted corps of military mismanagement and kleptocracy I'm not convinced russia is a credible threat to anyone besides trying to bumrush Estonia and failing miserably at this point. They seem content throwing human lives into machine guns in true russian fashion though, so you have to give them credit for their consistency.
