The Shot You’ll Never Forget Giveaway - Enter To Win A Barrel From Rifle Barrel Blanks!

A childhood friend of mine and I reconnected as adults after college and after him joining the Marines. He taught me a great deal about shooting and marksmanship. In those early days of learning, I shot what I had which was an old Winchester .30-30 lever action.

One day, we went to a public range to shoot that ole lever gun with its buckhorn sights. At 100 yards, I wasn't able to hit the 15 inch Shoot 'N See that we placed downrange. I don't recall thinking anything was 'wrong', it was just an old gun my dad gave me and I was still pretty new to shooting.

I had one round left and I placed the sights on the center of the target and pressed the trigger. My buddy was using his binoculars to spot and after the shot broke he started screaming. I remember being so confused but I quickly realized it was an excited scream. He handed me the binoculars and I found our target and then I screamed! That last round produced a perfectly placed bullseye in an otherwise pristine target. We were both hooping and hollering like we had just won the lottery! All the other range attendees could not figure out why we were so excited.

That shot, while very lucky, was a purely joyful moment. My buddy celebrated as a teacher. I celebrated as a shooter. That moment was an ignition and I'll never forget it.

When using the temp table do you have to have it in a specific order?
If you do, is there a way to drag them about in the table, its a pain having to write everything down to re-input to get temps in a descending or ascending order when adding a temp and speed.
Hottest to Coldest is the best order.

Finding a wife

My problem is I've seen the good side of marriage (the good lord called her home before me after 39 wonderful years) and unless you have ever experienced that its very hard to grasp, especially in today's world. It is something that few get to live, but trust me its worth it. The main thing to remember is never ever,... marry for Tits, Ass, or Cash. Even then before you say I do, ask yourself are you willing to turn over 100% control of your money/property management, if not,... she is not the one you seek. If Tits an Ass or arm candy is your thing, rent it,... the worlds full of them.
It's nice that you had a good marriage and I feel for your loss. That sucks. However, your marriage was the exception rather than the rule.

The statistics don't lie. Modern marriage is statistically against men. If there was a 75% chance of me getting in an auto accident, I wouldn't leave the driveway.

Is bedding the AR barrel a myth? What's the best way?

It's not hard to knock out a barrel glued in with green loctite. I woukd trust jb with .002 clearance to stiffen the connection more than silicone. I trust green loctite bearing retaining compound more.

I do make sure I don't have a problem child barrel before gluing, but a little heat and and oak dowl they come back out with out much fuss.
This is exactly what I do, green loctite and a wood stick for removal. I've done a bunch like this and removed a few here and there they come out just fine.

The Shot You’ll Never Forget Giveaway - Enter To Win A Barrel From Rifle Barrel Blanks!

This would have been back in the mid-80’s, when I was in my early teens. We lived on a farm, and an area just to the east of our house was prone to holding water, to the tune of about 1-3 feet deep. One day, I noticed we had some ducks on the water and I’d never taken a duck before. I grabbed my dad’s single action Ruger Bearcat revolver, in .22LR, and walked to the water’s edge. I fired the first shot with them sitting on the water, but to my surprise they all took off flying. I must have missed! Not to be deterred, I cocked the hammer, tracked a single duck as it rose in the air, and fired a second shot. The duck fell to the ground. I couldn’t believe it!
When I retrieved the duck, it had a single bullet hole through the neck. Now…I MAY have landed my first shot on the water, and maybe it had just enough left to take off before dying, but my greatest marksmanship claim will always be that I took a duck, in flight, with a single action .22 revolver.
Yes, we had duck for dinner…and I’ve never eaten duck again.

$6,500,000 settlement and arresting officer sent to prison

But don’t acknowledge them or repost them- that makes you the asshole , we are supposed to pretend that it did t happen and when our cities burn from bused in looters complete with pallets of bricks and food trucks these assholes will save the day- we are just supposed to keep believing that and ignore the bad - that’s on video, on the internet for free, in volume.

I accepted the title Asshole decades ago. I’ve also collected a few other badges of honor.

What do you consider the Gen 3 Razor of Rangefinding Binos? Specifically with PRS/NRL in mind.

If you don't need full AB and want to stay under $1K Sig Kilo6HDX gen 2 10x42 is better than Fury 5K HD Gen 2. I compared them side by side. Sig ranges faster and has better glass. Also comes with AB lite.
I just contacted Vortex and apparently the 5000 HD AB is also discontinued.... Probably will go with Sig. I could use the AB lite just to connect to my garmin Tactix 8

Case cleaning

New to reloading and have questions. Does tumbling with stainless media produce better or more consistent accuracy as apposed to walnut/ corn media ?
No. In fact, it can be just the opposite. For example:

* Very clean interior surface of the neck produces more interference than can effect consistent seating of the bullets. That can be mitigated by lubing the necks before seating or by leaving the residue on the inside after the firing.

* When wet tumbling, the cases are banging against each other hitting the mouth's of the cases cause the edge to curl inward forming a significant burr that can cogue the bullet's jacket, produce too much runout and too much variation in seating. The SS media isn't the problem and is there to just clean the inside of the cases.

On the positive side, if you want to think of it that way. . . you can get really sparkly clean brass.

Wet tumbling is good for cleaning brass that's gotten really dirty having been thrown into dirt or mud and getting that out of the interior.

Since I lube my cases with Imperial Sizing Die Wax for sizing, I like to dry tumble with medium size rice after sizing. Before sizing I just use some steel wool to clean the necks before sizing. I like to lean the after firing residue on the interior of the necks and the dry tumbling with rice leave the interior of the neck nicely lubricated for consistent seating. There are other approaches that work just fine, but being somewhat of a minimalist, this is my preference (I typically do 100 cases at a time). If one is doing something like 300-400 cases at a time, I'd probably choose a different approach. ;)
