Both weights include action screws.
I had a couple times where it was hard to close the bolt, yes. As far as pierced primers, no.The bullet is jammed into the lands when you close the bolt. Opening the bolt pulls the bullet. Usually factory ammo has enough “neck tension” that this doesn’t happen. Also, usually factory ammo is seated short enough that the bullet is nowhere near the lands. It’s a lawyer’s nightmare to have a customer call with a complaint that the bullets are jammed into a factory barrel so they tend to seat them on the short end of the scale. In your case, I’m guessing the prefit has a really short throat or is headspaced incorrectly such that the bullet, even at short factory seated length, is much farther forward in the chamber than is normal. It is possible, but unlikely in my opinion, that a lot of carbon build up in the throat could be causing this. Are there any other signs of irregularity? Pressure, hard bolt close, hard open, pierced primers, etc?
I got volunteered to repair distribution powerlines in my state of North Carolina that were damaged by Hugo. We worked the rural areas near Albemarle. I specifically remember the name of one community, Frog Pond. After Hugo I went to South Carolina with a group to offer aid. It was truly a devastating storm there.
Why do people make this so hard?

Yes because every American’s dream is to work in a sweatshop to make tennis shoes for 10$ a day in a 110F factory with no HVAC.So tarifs, DJT just did three nearly impossible things at once.
(1) protect tha American worker from unfair trade practices of our partners.
(2) Begin rebuilding American manufacturing.
(3) Find a tax Democrats don't like.
I've got a couple Alpha mags that'll take COAL's of that length (2.979"). But I don't know if Alpha is still doing business or if there are suppliers that have them???If you set up your rifle to take the correct detachable mags something like 2.990" MDT minus center plate, will feed through a standard Rem short action...available on line everywhere.
With a little inletting on your part, presto you too, can have the same setup.
This will help with the 200 gr and heavier to seat out past the ogive.
These are 208 Bergers at 2700 fps in $600 rifle build with a new Bartlein 5R 9 twist 22" barrel, bottom metal, magazine, and muzzle brake ....used parts on a trued Rem 700.
The rifle was a previous factory Rem LTR, with a shot out barrel.
I was thinking about doing Vegas too but I have too many big money plans this year so I will probably plan on next year. Used to go to Indy races as a kid. My dad always got Long Beach and Fontana pit and suite tickets for those through his work. Its what got me into racing.Anyone planning on a race this season? I'm taking my twin daughters to Vegas in Nov. for the 21th birthday they Love the F1 too..
Just waiting on the tickets.
You do the best that you can. Save what you can. Don't fret about it. Improve your career and income when the opportunity presents itself. Don't get caught up in the materialistic things that you don't have. Everyone has bills, aspirations, and the other things you mention. Keep things in balance...enjoy your life.
The one thing that I would do over again if I were young is to spend more time with friends and family and enjoy their company. I spent too much time climbing the corporate ladder and missed out on a lot.
That's the only advice I can offer that is worth a damn.
Thank you! Very solid advice. Definitely trying the best I can but feel like I’m failing in some capacity every day. There is always room for Improvement. It’s hard to make up for lost time in the market. You have to figure out your goals and proceed from there. You either have enough to do all of it, or you don’t. If you don’t, then you have to look at your priorities.
I wish I had an answer for you, but I will say that you’ll never be able to buy time or missed experiences back. My friend’s dad had great plans for retirement, but he died at 55 and did none of those plans. That has always stuck with me.
Thanks. The more I have been thinking about it, the more the 6.5cm makes sense also. It seems like a good starting point. I will be running a Nomad on it. Would you still go with a 26-28"? That would be a long boy.
Do you think I would see a huge diffrence in being able to spot my misses between a 6.5cm and the 6mm options?
