6mm BR

Took my Maverick off to try a Botnia on this beast. Zero only moved about a half tenth right. Top two groups where with my lite fill rear bag. Bottom two with heavy fill rear bag. Bottom right was after adjusting .05L on the scope.

Should be all set for the Positional Punisher in a couple weeks.

6mm BR

I have lucked into a mild, cheap 6BR load that shows amazing promise:
  • 105gr Barnes Match Burner
  • 29.4gr Vihtavuori N150 --> 2770fps (28" 1:7.5 Bartlein)
  • CCI 450
  • Alpha brass (virgin and 9x-fired)
I'm getting consistent 5-shot 100-yard groups in the .3s and quite a few in the .2s, and the load holds 1/2MOA (paper target) or better at 540 yards with two Bartlein barrels - a brand-new one and an "experienced" one with 2500+ rounds on it (both 1:7.5 twist). Jumping .060 in old barrel, new one at .030 off the lands. I've shot them to 1000 - not too many yet, easy hits on full IPSCs and hits on 2-MOA plates are as good as any bullets I've tried including Berger HTs. The MBs are a bit chubby, but the matches I've been going to have been trending toward smaller 1-3MOA targets 600 yards and under with only one or two stages with one or two targets each going to 1000 or more so super slick bullets aren't that important.

It also helps that a buddy of mine who has gone all-in on Berger HTs and Varget has offloaded a bunch of these MBs cheap!

Barnes Match Burners 6mm 105 grain

Brief addition to this old / sorta-resurrected thread: I have lucked into a mild, cheap 6BR load that shows amazing promise:

I'm cross-posting this in the 6BR thread.
