Here is an update, got my new seating die in and it helped a lot, still had issues with concentricity tho. I opted to turn the necks and ended up having to take .0035 off of my overall loaded neck diameter to get material removed from around the whole neck. I guess the necking up really caused some thin spots in my necks. After all thet was done the rifle started shooting so much better and consistent from session to session. This is my load im gonna shoot for now.
Next im gonna take it to distance and see if this low velocity will still give me that amazing advertised bc for the 190s. Also i need to see how bad my temp sensitivity is gonna be with cfe223. Currently im quite excited about the results, just took longer then expected to get there.
Having Mil ID, I often stay on a nearby base when traveling. At Barksdale AFB, we eat at the DFAC. Two short order stations, and premade meals on a rack, and two different chow lines. Amazing enough already, but giving my order to a pleasant mannered young lady in a white jacket, was an amazing experience. No beer bellied old cook with a bad attitude and dirty tshirt, with a ciggy hanging.
Do you feel hindered at all by the small FOV? Evidently PRS guys and the tactical games champ don't mind it. I think it fits the perfect form fashion for what we do. Low weight and compact.
If all things are equal I prefer wide FOV.
I recently switched the scope on my rimfire from a XTR3 to a Delta Stryker despite having a worse FOV because the glass was better.
In your shoes I'd try find a used XTR3i in the buy/sell section, the 3-18 seems to be hit or miss in the glass department.
By buying used if you are disappointed in the glass you can on sell and not take a hit if you decide to sell again.
I thought so too, I figured on low charge cases where the brass does not fully expand to seal the chamber we get some gas leaking back out between chamber wall and case. However, do you believe this to be the case? I don't think it was too low a charge, and it only happened on the highest charge too. A bit strange.
