Screaming Deals on Armalite Barrels

I turned one of the Armalite 11.5s that I got into a dedicated suppressor host. Took it out to get a taste of what it can do.

I had a small variety of ammo on hand.

From left to right top, then bottom ...

Black Arc 77gr, Winchester with Barnes 77gr Matchburners, PMC M193, PMC M193, Winchester M855, PMC M855.

The target dots are 2" in diameter shot with a 3.5X ACOG at 100 yards off of a bipod. Sorry for the 3 round groups on the first two. The Black Arc is $1.40 a round and I'm running low on the Matchburners. Extrapolate what you will.

This particular barrel was way overgassed with my Fat Cat suppressor. I used a Superlative Arms gas block and in full bleed off mode and it was still over gassed. I switched over to restrictive mode and 2 clicks from fully closed and an A5H1 buffer had it running right. Riflespeed on the way.

Still, the best $80 I've spent in a while.

Greatest Post Apocalyptic Movie of all time ?

1. The Road
2. Fury Road
3. The Road Warrior.
Honorable Mention- The Book of Eli.

I'm sure I'm missing a few but those are the ones that have stuck with me. The Road affected me the most. It hits hard.

It's difficult for me to put Fury Road over The Road Warrior as The Road Warrior is what sparked my interest in the post apocalyptic movie genre. But I feel that Fury Road is a better overall movie.

It’s better made.

Fury Road plot has max tied to the front of a car for like half the movie and then the other half are a bunch of dumb cunts in a water truck and what’s her name with grease on her forehead.

If you bought it because you like it more than other choices then read the manual, and follow the instructions.

If you bought it because the cool kids all have one then sell it and get a 1911. If better to be safe and have a great trigger.
Manual says not to carry/store with a round in the chamber. Kind of dumb to be racking the slide with a pissed off bear heading your way at 40 mph.

PRS Range gear bags for match day

If you are going to carry all your gear in a bag I would recommend a good pack and not a standard range bag set up. Pack on your back and then two hands to hold your rifle.

I use an Eberlestock Fac Track pack and it works great at carrying all my gear for Rimfire or centerfire matches. I added a couple liter pouches on each side and more than enough room.

Have any of the 10mms had any issues?

Anyways, check it via this guy's tests, he's got a couple videos.

I have two P320s, both with grayguns triggers, one is a Wilson Combat, which by the way, nobody seems to mention, if these things are truly dangerous, Wilson Combat didn't see it, Parker Mountain machine makes custom P320s. And so on...

But anyway.

I tested both of mine and didn't see any issues, I have no problem carrying mine appendix and do, because they shoot great. Both of mine have manual safeties.

It seems like the proper trigger/trigger bar takes care of things, so I don't know that it really needs to be a huge deal, but that's a personal decision.

Help Me Choose

Tangent is the best option available. The other two scopes you mentioned do not have tool-less turrets. Aside from the Tangent, the only alternatives would be the Delta Stryker 3.5-21, which features tool-less adjustments, or the Kahles K328i, which offers the best optical range among all the options discussed.

1. K328i -----------NOT tool-less, although tool hidden in the turret
2. TT315P ---------tool-less
3. Delta 3.5-21-----tool-less

Pistol ar....lvpo vs red dot

Rob - nope, haven't been in Gaza recently. I freely admit I'm a civilian who in 25 years of shooting have never had to point my gun at another person, and hopefully never will. This is just a fun hobby for me. But a hobby that hopefully has some practical utility should the world go to hell - even if that is a remote possibility. I'd rather be somewhat proficient with my rifle than be a great golfer trying to protect my family with a Titleist and a nine iron. Other than this just being a fun sport/activity/hobby, isn't that why we train - so if we ever find ourselves in the position of actually having to use our rifle/pistol, etc. we don't completely panic and can respond to the situation with at least a minimum level of proficiency.

My point is that being able to hit a freshly painted 2' steel plate at 300 yards with a red dot, on a flat range, in bright sunlight is not a realistic scenario and says very little about how well this set up would perform when conditions are less ideal.

Same with me as I have never pointed my weapon at anyone as a civilian and hopefully never will but I am former LE and USMC so I have in other instances but luckily never had to fire. Being proficient and confident in your weapons handling is very important and why we practice.

I get your point and understand it but a civilian will probably not be taking a 300 yard shot in any conditions and most will be within self defense distances if using the rifle in or around the house as it will be hard in court to say you felt your life was in danger and had to shoot that guy 150 yards away. ;)
