7 SWC for PRS

recoil is in the ballpark of a 308 (I'd say slightly less), but I've only shot one 7swc rifle

That’s not terrible but then again that’s off one experience, I know I’d personally prefer not to shoot my 308 for a two day since it’s well not the most enjoyable experience but definitely shows any flaws in the fundamentals.
I'm not buying it. There's a point where it isn't that hard to see impacts on target at distance, in general, but it's more difficult to see impacts from shitty positions with more recoil.

I shot the 25 Saturday. I was able to read impacts on targets in some stages but some stages the props were intentionally unsteady and it was strugge on those stages. In my squad three people were shooting 135's, someone was shooting 153's, and someone was shooting 105's out of a 6 ARC. 6 ARC won the match.
Looks like the 6ARC is putting in work and is slowly becoming the poor man’s dasher, which is probably hurting some feelings.

Buying a plane after retirement

I looked at the same thing when I retired, even looked at a Mooney because a friend's brother had one and loved it. Decided it wasn't worth the money. First class tickets in the long run would be cheaper.

Think about this, JFK, Jr went down in a Piper Saratoga (high performance) with his wife and sister in-law. It is guesstimated he had only 30-40 hours in that airplane. About 300 hrs total.

Gas Gun Groups Thread

Something a little different, I shot an Appleseed AQT yesterday in the heat but I had to get the optic dialed in for 25 meters since the Vortex is normally zeroed for 100 yards. The below target was shot prone with a sling starting at the bottom right and going clockwise. Bottom right was slow fire, bottom left I had a fucked up elbow position and bad shadowing on the optic, top left I got the LOP and all that figured out and shot seven at a rifleman's cadence, top right was also shot in cadence but shit was heating up and I didn't have a glove on. Ammunition was Winchester White Box M193.

Quality BB gun?

Does it have to be a BB gun, or can it be a pellet gun?

If it can be a pellet gun, I’d recommend either a Weihrauch HW30S or an HW50S in .177. The 30 is a little smaller and is easiest to cock, which translates to lower velocities though still enough for small game at short distances (~20y and in or so). The 50 is a full-size rifle that’s still easy to cock, but pushes velocities up into the 700-800fps range, making it capable of small game at more extended ranges (~40y or thereabouts). Both are a ton of fun to shoot and being break-barrel/single-shot, he won’t blow through pellets too fast and will learn to make each shot count. More importantly, both are quality air rifles that should last generations if properly cared for.

Ideal .223 Bolt Action Plinker (?)

Personally, I’d stay away from the 600 series. I own three of the previous model, the 527 mini-mauser type action, in 204, 17 Hornet, and 22 Hornet. They made a variety of that model in 223 as well. The 527 is one cool action and my three guns are very accurate.

The 600 series was supposed to have a simple barrel change feature. I think this was for Euro customers that had to get permission to buy each new gun, but they could buy barrels without paperwork (or something similar).

Anyway, either there was an engineering mistake or the potential liability of a user mistake was too great so they recalled them. Now the barrels are bonded into the action so you cannot change them.

I think CZ destroyed their centerfire lineup.
Yeah the more I read and research around I think a $600ish generic 223 bolt is going to land me in a Ruger American Ranch. Not sure whether to go with a gen 1 or a gen 2. Gen 2 is more $ out of the box at retail whereas gen 1, being still out there, I can get for low $500 somewhere. And if I want to throw it in another stock it won't turn it into stupid money.

Plus I really do want easy access, double stack, at least, 10 round magazines.

Iran go boom

Now that we have been dragged into another senseless war that we are fighting on Israel's behalf, a war that has no benefits and all downsides to the USA, I'll reiterate what I said in the other thread.

The largest threat to the USA is not China. It's not Russia. It's not North Korea or Iran. It's Israel.
No. The largest threat is the voters...

He won't be supplying the left anymore, he FA & FO the hard way.

bizarre. rioters throw explosives at fed LE-not shot on the spot. some weird acting homeless guy shot at 20 feet away. first, thought most cops have tasers. assault with a deadly on a fed not something to be tolerated. yet another sign that we are doomed.
