GPS unit advice needed

I have to rebuild some extremely old fences that are not straight and due to the terrain I cannot visibly shoot a line between the corner posts. What I want to do is the following:

1. Take each corner post as a waypoint.
2. Create a straight-line and accurate route between the waypoints and be able to walk that route accurately to set various stakes.
3. Alternatively, create waypoints in an app or on the GPS along that route to put down fenceposts.

Obviously it has to be accurate. What units do you guys recommend?

Caribbean Delegation Bound for Brussels, London to Demand Slavery Reparations

Reparations are due now to compensate for the trans-Atlantic slave trade as a way to tackle “its legacy” in contemporary society, including “systemic racism and white supremacy.” That is the message a Caribbean delegation will take to Brussels and London on a visit designed to elicit cash payments as compensation for “slavery and colonialism.”

Calls for reparations are longstanding but have been gaining momentum around the world, particularly among the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and the African Union (AU), Reuters reports.

The outlet set out some of the background to the latest call to target Europe:

Organised by the Repair Campaign, a group advocating for reparations in the Caribbean, the trip will start in Brussels on July 1, where the delegation will host a briefing with European Union (EU) lawmakers.
In 2023, the EU said Europe inflicted “untold suffering” on millions of people but even though some member states have acknowledged past wrongs, no country has agreed to reparations.
The delegation will then travel to London, where they will hold a briefing in parliament on July 2.

The Reuters report goes on to state the delegation includes “Caribbean academics and policy experts, as well as members of national reparations committees established by CARICOM member states and backed by their respective governments.”

CARICOM has a reparations plan, which, among other demands, calls for technology transfers and investments to tackle health crises and illiteracy. The AU is developing its own plan.

An infographic details growing demands for slavery reparations. (Ufuk Celal Guzel/Anadolu via Getty)

Opponents of reparations argue contemporary states and institutions should not be held responsible for their past. But advocates say action is needed to address the legacies, such as inherent racism allegedly delivered through colonialism.

Britain has previously rejected calls for reparations even as the United Nations has added its voice to the call.

Just this past week a Black Lives Matter (BLM) affiliate made a demand of its own in the U.S. telling “white folks” the time has come to pay up.

BLM has also made the same call in the UK.

As Breitbart News reported, U.N. Secretary General Antonio Guterres in 2024 said past colonial powers “laid the foundations for a violent discrimination system based on white supremacy that still echoes today.

“Descendants of enslaved Africans and people of African descent are still fighting for equal rights and freedoms around the world. Today and every day, we reject the legacy of this horrific crime against humanity.

“[…] We call for reparatory justice frameworks to help overcome generations of exclusion and discrimination.”

HILARIOUS!!!!

Accessories Atlas grip for Staccato XC/XL/P

For sale like new Atlas Gunworks grip for Staccato. This is recently released Atlas grip made specifically for Staccato 2011 models (WILL NOT FIT THE C, CS and HD) and it shouldn't require any fitting for XC (mine didn't). I got an offer to sell my XC but buyer wanted the original grip, so I have the Atlas grip left. The grip has been cerakoted, comes with new set of bushings, blue Atlas trigger, mag release, Cheely XL magwell, magwell pin, mainspring housing, pinned grip safety...everything you see on last 2 pics (no Staccato XC is not included ;-), funny that I have to say that).
Asking for $750 shipped to lower 48 states for everything listed above, payment via PayPal F&F (discreet, no description), Zelle, Venmo and Cash App.

From Atlas (my XC didn't need any fitting at all) https://atlasgunworks.com/product-details?id=266060208:
This kit is designed to upgrade all current (WILL NOT FIT THE C, CS and HD) Staccato 2011 models. Please note that this is not a drop-in conversion kit—fitting requires professional installation by a trained gunsmith to ensure proper function and safety. Any modification to factory-installed safety features must undergo thorough evaluation to ensure their continued effectiveness and functionality. It is essential that all safety protocols are rigorously tested and verified in a controlled environment. Live ammunition must not be used unless all safety mechanisms have been fully confirmed to be operating as intended.

Bushing or mandrel or both?

I been loading 6.5CM for some years now I have always full length size then ran a mandrel to get desired neck tension. Soon I will start loading for a 7 PRC and am curious but mostly ignorant, is a bushing die meant to replace mandrel use? Or do you guys run both for some reason?

Thinking about going bushing this time around to try something new and just wondering if it’s necessary for me to invest in 7 PRC mandrel as well.

Thanks and don’t be so hard on a noob.

Entry level gun and scope

This weekend went to my first range that you could shoot 1000 plus. Looking at 300 PRC Browning xbolt long range and the Bergara B-14 hmr which would you all suggest over these? Also need some ideas on scopes. I have a couple PST Gen 2s found out they don’t have enough adjustment to shoot a mile. Looking for something entry level that’s decent I live 7 hours to closest range to be able to shoot that

DeLane Development Group Rimfire Ventures

Ok, no more drip feeding, it's time for full fire hose.

The VGW V-22 is a true-to-scale mid-lock rimfire bolt action with integral recoil lug. One of the many unique features of this design is, for a mid-lock, there are no lug ways forward of the lug abutment in the receiver. The rail is MilStd 1913, available in 0, 25 and 30 MOA. The action is currently in full production and available from Vudoo Gun Works in St. George, UT.

This rifle has no finish on it yet and of course, it uses my AICS patterned magazine that is currently fielded in many 40X Repeater Conversions. The action is a direct drop in to any Rem700 Short Action Stock or Chassis, with the only accommodation being the ejection port is shorter than the standard Rem700/40X length port. Unlike the 40X Rimfire, the lugs in the VGW V-22 are concealed.

I'll be spending more time on the range tomorrow and will post video of it cycling, but it runs like a Swiss watch.

Thanks, Guys....

Karma Shooter, Looking at our Body Position

Okay we did a live on this topic as this is something we are looking at more and more. We already know we are going to higher rings. The AR15 world has going to higher Risers and now the bolt action world should follow. For a while now I have been taking about 1.375" to 1.55" as the rings I look for today. I don't go low, I stay high to keep my head up. Well saying this repeatedly has lead to Chris getting a 1" AR Riser for his bolt gun.
IMG_0289.JPG

So this week I jumped in to look at this and felt it was better. My biggest concern was prone, and prone even for me was very comfortable.

I wanted to talk about this, today Chris and I jumped on a LIVE and recorded our thoughts.

The graphic Chris drew is a touch light on the screen, so here is the image.
IMG_0294.JPG

For reference:

Measurement for Chris was 7"
Measurement for Me was 5"
The Rifles averaged 3.75" with the Knights being the lowest at 2.75" scope over bore height.

This is a thought, an experiment, so we want to your opinions ... we know the immediate negatives what are some we might have missed ?

Best way to fix cracked bedding? (Model 70)

The bedding near my recoil lug is cracked. I want to fix it the correct way. I imagine copying what was done at the factory is my best bet. How can I ‘restore’ this bedding?

I’ve read that there should be no bedding at the front of the recoil lug and it appears this is what was done at the factory.

Question about potential throat issue on brand new Accuracy International replacement barrel, pic's attached

I just received a replacement barrel for my Accuracy International AT-X from a reputable vendor. I have not shot the new barrel yet, or even installed it.

The original barrel is well over 3,000 rounds, while it is still shooting acceptably well, I realize I'm on borrowed time as I shoot a lot.

I hate to be "that guy" with a borescope, but I was looking at the leade/throat area, and it has some marks where the rifling begins that concern me. I'm attaching a photo below, there are virtually identical marks on all 5 groves. I don't recall these marks on the original barrel. I also have a newer Proof Research Barrel that does not have any marks like these.

I really don't care as long as the barrel hammers, but the factory barrel set a pretty high bar, it has historically shot in the .2 - .4 MOA range with handloads for 5 rounds at 100 yards.

Are these marks in the rifling a cause for concern? Do you think I should contact the vendor? Should I just shoot this thing? What would you do?

It's an $1,100 barrel using a Bartlein blank, I just don't want to be disappointed with its performance and be stuck with it if there's an issue.
