Looking for the FL peeps again

Ladies and gents, it's that time of year again. I'm on vacation in Kissimmee with the family.

Last year we talked about gators; as there were/are still a few that now appear to live at the resort we stay at. Kids have already dragged me to the ponds to see if there were any gators/turtles/wildlife, and most certainly there was.

This year I've got a different request. I'm a carpenter by trade, and I'm looking for a cool tool store to check out. We don't have many at home in ME, so being able to see/handle things before purchase becomes difficult. This is pretty much the extent of what we have at home:

www.bistools.com

Specifically, I'm looking for a Martinez hammer. Not that I can't buy one online, I'm just a brick and mortar type of guy. So, if anyone knows of a cool construction tool store around Kissimmee/Orlando/Orange Lake, I'm all ears. Thanks.

MPA BA comp or Foundation?

This isn’t a which one is better post I truly like both stock/chassis more of some advice on a build I have going on.

I currently have a bergara b14r in a mpa ba comp chassis and it is very nice and very adjustable which is a good thing as my daughter shooting with me and I’m 6’4 and she’s not quiet 5’ so there’s a huge LOP difference lol the new barreled action will be in 6.5 creedmoor that she will also shoot. I recently got to shoot a 6 dasher in a foundation and REALLY liked that stock.

Option 1: Use the MPA chassis for both barreled actions and just swap them out as needed when we shoot. We definitely will shoot the .22lr more probably go threw 1000 rounds a week right now since the weather is nice.

Option 2: Put the 6.5 in the MPA chassis and order a cheaper stock for the .22lr like a krg bravo, mdt xrs etc.

Option 3: Leave the .22lr in the MPA and order a foundation for the 6.5 and have it setup with spacers so she can still shoot it will.

I think I like stocks more than chassis but the chassis just flat out work and work well and not to mention the adjustability, weight tuning etc is all super easy. Any advice is welcome.

Swedish Mauser m/96-38 Inconsistencies

I just picked up a Swedish m/96-38 and there are some aspects of the rifle that confuse me. I ask these questions having not handled an enormous number of them, but from reading The Swedish Mauser Rifles published by North Cape Publications.

This rifle was imported by Class Distributors in Swann, Vermont. The receiver was manufactured by Carl Gustafs in 1908. All the numbers match except for the magazine floor plate and the bolt stop, neither of which have serial numbers. That should mean that they were made by Husqvarna.

The rear sight is from an m/38, not an m/96-38.

Most oddly, the bolt has only one gas escape port, but according to the book, any rifle made after 1904 should have at least 2.

Does someone want to put this all together? I can't imagine an importer cobbled together a matching bolt from a pre-1905 rifle. None of the numbers look scrubbed. How about the rear sight? Has anyone ever seen a m/38 rear sight on a m/96-38? I can easily see anyone swapping out the magazine floor plate and bolt catch, though it seems odd with everything else matching.

Most accurate mk12 barrel?

I’m starting down the road of a mk12 build on a centurion receiver set and trying to decide on barrel. 6mo ago I’d have done cle but they’re off the table now so trying to find a replacement option. Out of what’s semi readily available what has the best track record for accuracy? Looking at centurion, pri, hcs, craddock rtr. Originally I had thought woa but doing a bunch of reading it sounds like they’re semi hit or miss ir decent at best. What do yall recommend for best mk12 barrel?

A good man died

John Rusyn recently passed away from a brain tumor. He went quickly with wife and I at his side

John was 67 years old
He was retired CW3 from US Army, US Army National Guard , Retired San Jose PD
John taught at Panama Jungle School in the late 1970’s. He graduated Army Sniper School in 1978
John had full tours in Bosnia, multiple to Afghanistan and Iraq. He loved doing work against evil
John was an exceptional shooter and rifle instructor. I loved teaching alongside John

He will be missed by many many people fortunate enough to call him friend. I called him Brother

Remember that time Boston state police spent a year

Trying to frame a lady for the murder of a dirty cop ?

And they had at least 250 murders , child rapists and fentanyl dealers just walking around conducting business - that the feds under new leadership rounded up in a few days - because they had pictures , knew their names and where they lived operated ? Yeah Pepperidge Farms remembers !

So the hands off oder was followed to man - so that not one pedo or mass murder had to worry about arrest or anyone getting in the way of their fentanyl trade .

These invading killers were not hiding in the woods or in caves , walking around metro areas without a care in the world - you might think you hate them enough but you don’t .
