gotta love Trump counties

I live just outside the Hennepin county border (liberal Minneapolis).

Only issue now is the liberals moving into the countryside since they don’t understand the problems they created where they lived are caused by them

That's six, nice work. I'm in Washington and we are working on it I just heard. I like this due to the proactive work being done. MN has had pretty good gun rights (in some cases even better than TX) in spite of the democrat power. We are still pretty good but this helps get out ahead of attempts to strip our protected rights.

That’s because even with left leaning polls in the TC, the highly educated population are more than just single issue voters. Perfect example is viewing the state wide district results from the voter ID and gay marriage ballot measures a few years back. It wasn’t simply a yes/yes or no/no as the advertising and polls suggested.

Even the bill to open the door for cans moved through a DFL house and senate, was passed by a DFL senate, and signed into law by a DFL governor... and Dayton and Dayton at that.

Not saying there are not opponents to everything, but the vast majority of the state is pretty middle ground. Sadly the obnoxious right/left get all the air time. Trust me, there are a LOT of non-one issue voters in the metro, don’t fret and try not to overtly hate.

This is true for the most part but it has been changing, just a slower pace than other big city 3rd world liberal run shitholes. The majority of dem voters here are still more middle leaning and haven't quite caught up with the dem party as it actually is most everywhere else. I know many lifelong dem voters here who are not liking the far left trajectory and some of them have switched to team Trump. (MN is going red in 2020)

In some ways Dayton was good because he was so doped up and confused most of the time he was easier to get things passed. The new gov is a straight up tool of the party who is not high on pain meds and is happy to advance the hard left agenda. A big part of our gun rights staying strong has been the outstate voters, especially Iron Range, (8th Dist) who have traditionally voted dem due to unions but Trump has flipped the 8th because he brought their jobs back just like Ohio, Penn, etc.

So I agree about the metro area voters but it is definitely changing and going hard left just at a slower pace than other big cities. Trump helps slow the socialist roll a bit but when he's gone and the establishment republitards get back in power people will drop support for the party in general.

I am in crowwing co and there is a big push back on more gun laws, we shall see how our "locals in power" vote.....Gotta keep fighting for our rights!!

Give me a real example of the obnoxious right.

On the other end of the spectrum, John Dietering cited a Fox News poll from August 2019 that showed 90 percent of Americans in favor of background checks, 81 percent in favor of red flag laws to take guns from at-risk people, and 67 percent in favor of banning assault weapons.

Got leave the nursing home to get a true representation.

Here’s a test: if you don’t think there is an obnoxious right, only an obnoxious left, you might be one of the former.
Be more specific if you will.
Its what the left uses to describe red blooded Americans so I am curious what your definition is.

It’s what the middle calls the extremophiles at either end of the spectrum.

People vehemently trying to stuff their clearly propaganda driven rhetoric down everyone’s throat, while being incapable of listening to anyone who has even the slightest of differing views. And anyone who doesn’t fall in strict line with their cult-like feelings, is a [enter derogatory name for other team here]. Those who engage in petty acts of overt obnoxiousness with the soul purpose of proving their kool-aid is more cherry than grape. Doing this just to watch the other side seethe, while having a tantrum when the other side does exactly the same to them.

Nope, the jack-wad neighbor is such for many things beyond his political views. The guy is just a piece of shit human being.

But, I see where you are trying to steer this. I assure you I am not seen as and obnoxious left, nor right, by any of the like minded vocal majority in this country.

So you can’t give a specific example. I knew you could’t because it doesn’t exist.

I guess if you want to defend a twice convicted child molester and sex offender, that’s on you.

I’ll maintain calling him a piece of shit human being.
So now being a child molester is being far right. Got it.

Virginia's 91 counties, 16 cities and 34 towns approve of this. (y) No retreat.

The far left is anti-Amercan. They believe in open borders. They believe in killing babies. They are communists who don’t value individualism. They have no accountability for there own actions, no faith, no morals, no guiding light. These people have no shame. They are irrational and sick. They can not comprehend the world in which they live. They are twisted. Evil.

The “far right” are Americans. We believe America is the greatest nation on earth and not by chance. We believe in protecting the border. We believe in very little immigration. We value the individual person. We are accountable for our actions and understand that what we do or don’t do has consequences good and bad. We are guided by our faith and morality. We feel shame. We have rational minds and are capable of distinguishing make believe and reality.

This isn’t all inclusive but a good start. The far right is a term giving by the sick left to describe their enemies. True Americans. If you can’t comprehend this then you are either one of them or completely clueless.

@wade2big

Wow, there is a whole lot there to unpack.

Thank you for providing such a solid example of the polar nature of this subject. I knew if I hung on long enough I wouldn’t have to type up examples.

Shouldn’t you be more concerned about all the evil Californians resettling to Texas and trying to change it to their way?

I live in Minnesota and run into far more vocal commie left wingers than hate filled right wingers .
The only reason we have had no far left gun control passed in the last 4 years is Republicans have controlled
one house or the other .
The only reason we didn't get Bloomberg's Moms demand action dream package of gun control last year .
Is because of the Senate being controlled by the Republicans .

Seems most casual gun owners in the state are clueless on whats in pending anti gun legislation .
That is being pushed by the democrats and the Governor .

Before making broad generalizations, check the voting history for the last 6yrs. Take note of the number of independent and DFL seat holders opposing the control bills. It’s not a party line issue here. There are too many moderates that like their guns, hunting, and since 2015, being quieter with them. Yes there are the crazies blocking I-94, but they do not speak for the majority of even the left leaning moderates.

So you think those who have left Cali haven't taken their ideology with them and had effect

If you think the above is some right wing hate I anticipate you'll not like the bear pit.
I'm more than happy to debate the points/merits of this assertion.

No, exactly the opposite.

I think he should be yammering on about the Californiazation of his own state, before stepping into a political climate of which he has zero understanding.

Please elaborate.

Elaborate on what?

Member from Texas comes tromping in, spouting hate in response to a thread discussing MN politics. He provides an excellent example of the obnoxious right, by ranting overtly simplistic impressions of a bipolar division of political positions; the us and them argument. While seemingly par for the course in the Bear Pit, it remains laughable and sad at the same time. He then applies this overly simplistic view to a post regarding the voting majority/minority with regards to recent gun control measures to move though the MN house and senate. Said member is woefully ignorant to the political landscape of *this state*, and ought not speak to how it is *here*. As you can see above, the majority of MN respondents in this thread were in aggreance with the more moderate status of our state. While we have extremes that are quite vocal, the population speaks well with their voting habits. This includes the moderate nature of both the republican and democratic representatives. It’s like we work together to find a middle ground or something. (This excludes the MET, that’s another subject all together)

Meanwhile, his own state, TX, has forces attempting to alter the political landscape there, of which I have little care, because Texas. My suggestion, overtly simplistic and inflammatory as it was to appease his nature, was for him to simply spend his efforts fighting to defend his beliefs against their (transplant Californians) influences in his own state.

While in the pit you'll find many differing opinions.
Many stem from personal/local experience concerning the amount of playing along
they've had with the blue team.
In my state the idea of cooperation died about the same time as Mrs O'leary's cow did.

I get that. MN is different. The average dem voter here is very moderate and many have just realized they are slight right. The average dem voter here is repulsed by the idea of socialism and the direction their party has gone. Watch Nov, MN is going R for the first time since Nixon and it's because a whole lot of dems are switching to team Trump. ?

I don’t want to yet put a win on my betting card yet, but I agree the middle is moving more right based on the extreme nature of the left’s options. It’s become a vote for the less stinky turd in the bowel; or which part of my soul am I willing to sell.

Something interesting to note...Trump's campaign is tracking and reporting stats on who's attending the rallies. Not only is every rally in a MN stadium attended 2x over capacity, 20-30% of those in attendance are registered Dem voters. Also, the primary turnout here set crazy records for Trump too. It's happening and MN is going to be talked about after the election on a national level because of it. The left is not prepared for the mass exodus of their longtime voters and will not understand how it happened.

I don’t register until day of major elections, then I deregister with the state the following day via a form letter. Takes about a week, but it helps keep my name, address, and phone number off most of the lists.

Anyone that does call/text gets trolled and/or verbally abused.

I will make all the broad generalization I want .
You have studied all the voting for the last 6 years .Share the data .
Also in the last 6 years a few of those years the DFL was the minority and the Republicans controlled both houses. Or am I wrong ?

You really believe that we wouldn't have all of the bad anti gun bills that Gov Waltz and the DFL leadership wants If they controlled both houses ?
Last two years the DFL controlled house has passed a boat load of bad anti gun bills . Today that great anti gun senator Latz will try to amend two pro gun bills with red flag and universal gun registration.
We are holding back the Anti gunners by a few senate seats.
The out state DFLers who are staunch 2nd Amendment supporters are a dying breed .

I find a lot of DFL voters who own guns really don't know what the party is doing during actual sessions.
Most people don't pay any attention to what the political class does in between elections .
That's for both parties .
For the record I don't trust any democrats and 98% of the republicans aren't trustworthy either.
The political class in general have a lot in common with prostitutes .
They will get in bed with the scum of the earth as long as the trick pays them .

Not the type of people I trust with my rights or my personal freedom .
