Elite Sand master race checking in.

Just took possession of my new 6.5CM AXSA last week. Topped it off with a ZCO 5-27 in a M-Brace. Waiting for a few parts to come in to personalize it a bit. I'll miss my AIAW/S&B 5-25 combo, but space/budget only allows for one.

Hopefully first range trip next week.

Does that ES color like a tinge of tan color ? Or just gray? I cant decide on DE or ES for AXSA.

To me, is seems to have a bit of tan, a bit of gray and a bit of OD. When I bought the rifle, I wasn't looking for a particular color, but I am pretty impressed with the Elite Sand.

I bought the Elite Sand and it seems to change in the sunlight... Don't think you can go wrong w either ES or DE.

Or if you have deep pockets, buy both ;)

So. Funny story.

I got my scope all mounted and put my AI into the safe.

I opened my safe the next morning, to get my CZ out and fondle it some more, and then it happened.

As the safe door opener, I could feel something sliding. Instead of stopping, I continued on. The next thing i know, out tumbled my new AI, and in slow motion I watched as it careened straight for the floor. Luckily, my foot caught it before it hit entirely.

Does it still qualify as a safe queen?

20 inch 308 barrel did good today. M118lr ammo 214 yds

I feel your pain. I dropped mine from about 3 feet in my house the other day. It wasn’t as balanced as I thought. Took a chunk out of my flooring to. Had to try and hide that from the wife.

Every time I bring home a new member of the heard, I do the same. Hide it from the wife.... they all look the same anyway!

Hide it from the wife is the same!

Not the floor scratch. :)

No I didn’t have to hide the gun. I had to hide the damage to the floor from dropping the AI on the floor. Lol

I did the same thing. Gun fell off my tailgate and onto the ground scope down. I think the nightforce hurt the dirt lol. Proceeded to shoot a one hole group right on zero, so the only thing hurting was my dads lungs from laughing

Off topic - I collect Garands, which do all look the same. Opened the safe (in the basement) years ago and was fiddling around to find HH6 standing behind me (sneaked up on me in stealth mode). She said, "I thought you only had one of those?" I believe I had about 19 in the safe at the time. Resulting conversation was less than positive.

I’d hate to be around when she finds your ammo stash! 😂🤣

I mean unless ya don’t want to spend the money on quality thermal and or ya got neighbors dogs to worry about

Wide open fields are one thing but vegetation brush etc makes things disappear with nv and with thermal there’s no hiding

Thermal add-on only is great for detection but poor for identification. Especially if your hunting grounds contain lots of species that aren't on the menu but look nigh on identical though thermal.

I normally use a handheld thermal spotter and a NV add-on on the optic.

Thermal is fine if you're shooting coyotes in an area where there are only coyotes.

I would argue £3500/£4000 is decent thermal money.

Hahah fucking hell, okay little buddy 😂.
Like i said if ya can’t / won’t spend for the good stuff night vision provides range and clarity thermal won’t iE pvs 30 for 4-5 with illuminator will provide great range and clarity but veg will make you lose stiff

Good luck finding a PVS-30 in the UK.

The LWTS for example is offering me very little in performance over the unit I'm using, at the ranges I use it at, asides the MIL-STAN /DEFSTAN ruggedness. (Even ignoring the fact the equipment I use is free.)

I get great detection and usable ID out to good ranges where I shoot. But in crowded arable where mistakes are very expensive (especially when the crop comes up) NV is the ticket.

These pics are obviously in an empty field. So ID is straight forward.

Anyone have pics of an FDE Sphur on a sage green AX? Maybe that’s a sin against god’s color…

Found a solid brass m6x1 bolt knob for the MKIII on ebay. Would be a good candidate for a blast and some air cure black cerakote once I get enought pieces rounded up to justify buying 4oz. Shell be shiny gold for a while unfortunately, but i like the feel of the added weight of the knob while cycling. Anyone know where a guy could get a Really Right Stuff BAI-AT2 or the first gen one,
Checked online at MHS and Eurooptics

Looking for a shorter Area Swiss rail for my AI AT, I'm not sure what the options are other than the RRS ones, all others seem too long.
Since i'm already running the Atlas Spigot for the bipod.
I just want to be able to attach it to my tripod and not have to deal with getting more shit to convert my bipod to a clamp type.

Thanks
