MacArthur was a fucking idiot who ignored the threat of the chinese and massively overextended his forces. Once the chinese attacked in full (a month after they first attacked, which was basically ignored.), MacArthur must have decided nukes could cover his ineptitude but Truman had enough of his shit and thankfully Matt Ridgway was put in charge and begun killing chinese and holding ground instead of retreating.
Good thing the Marines were sort of shielded from MacArther's fuckery by O.P. Smith.

Seems obvious to some of us but It is not to the vast majority out there. The all brass cased is standard pressure yes. And the steel based stuff we get doesnt have the sweet armor piercing pills, and maybe not "quite" hot as mil-spec. Im a much bigger fan of the older SIG(now SAN Swiss Arms) SG 550/551/552/553 series than the MCX but the M5 Spear is legit and while the AP stuff is probably super hard to get, SIG is being way cooler about giving us as close to what .mil is getting than HK ever has been.

Looks to me like Russia is back to the Cold War doctrine of the slow moving hedgehog with lots of arty. Their best infantry units were decimate in the spring so all they can do is bounce rubble with massed fires. That’s fine in the short term but it fails in the long term as it’s extremely expensive and eventually shit wears out. The Ukraine will counter with long range light infantry raids on key nodes and we see that now. Russia will lose control of its lines of communication.
The Ukraine now owns the Black Sea which takes away sea as a line of communication as well.
