I've fixed mine with a heavier spring. I'm still considering selling it.
Hey there, I just purchased a new mini fix last month and am getting some light primer strikes. I have the 300 BO model. I get light strikes with all fmj ammo but Hornady 190 gr Sub-X functions flawlessly.

Do you still have some extra springs for sale and was it ever confirmed that the spring size in the mini fix was the same as the full size? I also sent you a PM on this topic as well.

Thanks,

Duane

Sold mine on Gunbroker for $3000, spent the money on a Barrett. Leaps and bounds happier.

Does anyone have the springs lying around for a stronger mini fix strike? Get light strikes on discreet ballistics but otherwise like the combo. No issues on full size

If this issue is resolved or not. I’m not hearing or reading anything about post repair stories. I really want this pistol but if it doesn’t work.. I’ll keep searching for something else.

It works fine if you reload and use specific primers. If you want to shoot factory ammo then you might be better off with something else as it can be pretty finicky

Gotcha. I’m almost into reloading but not just yet. Maybe I’ll hold off. Is the honey badger a worth while option? (I know, different) or just a basic 300BO AR just as good?

I’ve already added the big bolt knob so at this point I’d welcome a heavier bolt lift if I could get at least close to 100% reliability. A nice bolt lift does me no good if nothing happens when I pull the trigger lol.
That’s interesting about the bolt design though. I’ve not taken mine apart that far, only enough to get the new bolt knob in.
Hopefully the engineers at Q come up with a fix for this issue soon as having a $3k gun that can’t run most ammo is pretty irritating to say the least.
whats the big bolt knob?

I’d personally take an MCX over a honey badger but that’s just me

I’ve had both and the honey badger is by far a better gun. It doesn’t weigh a metric shit ton, doesn’t have a forend rail that flexes like a wet noodle, doesn’t eat triggers, and doesn’t have ridiculous blow back.

It's literally just a slightly larger bolt knob that q makes as a replacement. I have one as well.
gotcha. wasnt sure if you guys were talking about the extended bolt q makes or found a universal bolt knob that fits on the end.

Sorry for all you guys having issues w/ your minifix's. I love mine. works flawlessly. and is crazy accurate. such a fun rifle to shoot.

Any word? I’m on the fence buying one right now.
I ended up contacting Q, sent my bolt in for warranty repairs and they returned it in about 2 weeks which included shipping time both ways. They didn't say exactly what was done but it is much better. I will still occasionally get some light strikes when shooting something with a hard primer but it's good enough now where I have decided to keep it.

It seems to like anything by Hornady which is mostly what I will be shooting out of it. The harder primer stuff I'll just continue to shoot from the AR platforms I have. Still a bit irritating based on what it costs but I guess that's just the way it is. I just purchased a Proof 223 barrel and will be swapping out to try it too. Hopefully no issues will pop up with that configuration.

Glad yall got quick turn around

I tried sending my full sized fix in for the 6.5 feeding issue and finally had to start being like what the hell when we approached a year...

The bipolar customer service was what everyone experienced with AAC back in the late 2000's.

I got my bolt back. It took a month. I shot mine today and only had one light primer strike, a CCI 450. I had zero issues with FGMM primers. It seems pretty sorted now. I will probably just feed it FGMM just to be safe. I'll take my DD PDW for defense of home or for a hunt. For pure fun, I'll take the Mini Fix. It is crazy quiet with a good can.

It's like a supermodel, sexy... but high maintenance! Just got to love it for what it is.

I was getting a lot of messages about mini-fix springs. I directed a couple of guys to Karl at the Texas branch of Diamond Wire. I had Fix springs made. I don’t think anyone has made any mini-fix springs yet. I’ve only sold 2 so far. I haven’t had any complaints about them not working.

I have 609 rounds through mine as of today since my 6.5 fix came back from light strike issues (which took 19 weeks to resolve).

They said they replaced the cam on the email I got.

It has had 0 issues since then, even using CCI 450’s with Lapua SRP brass. The 19 weeks left a bitter taste in my mouth, but after backpack hunting the Ruby Mountains for two weeks I like the rifle again. I got my jumbo shrimp suppressor out of NFA jail last week and shot it for the first time today and now I like the rifle again. Shooting it suppressed is like a whole new rifle. Much more pleasant to shoot and no more fireballs every time I touch it off.

That’s awesome!

If I get one, I'm curious to see how my Rugged Obsidian 45 and Sandman S perform with 300bo

I’m a budget guy. I had a receiver set and a bunch of parts and picked up a Unitah Precision bolt action 300 blk upper. I need to get a small can as got a huge one and it doesn’t fit this purpose. On it is a again something had laying around. It’s 1:7 not 1:5 but it did well with most I threw at it. It killed two deer. Daughter killed a Doe at 110 yards with Maker boars tooth 110 grain supers. The upper was $1000. Probably got $1500 in it. I would buy the JTAC 1:5 Elf owl if I had to do it over.
