yeah, that one broke my heart…I’ve been carrying Benchmade knives my entire adult life…professionally, and personally. Several years ago they even made some special switchblades (one-handed operation in case of a broken arm) for my unit’s survival vests worn over our flight suits; complete with ceramic blades, as well as titanium and other non-ferrous metal parts that couldn’t be picked up by metal detectors/wands. Really cool kit for the time.
Bought several customized Griptilians, and mini Griptilians over the years for friends and family too.
And I’ve been tempted several times over the past year or two to buy a set of their very expensive damascus steel kitchen knives…
But I swore I’d never buy from them again after that stunt.
I still carry the custom mini griptilian I had made for my own personal use back in 2012 when we moved back to the US…carry it every single day.
Great tool…but the last one from them I’ll own unfortunately.
OT: This custom 9” fighting knife I had made for my son by Helm Forge (local to me) would have done the trick nicely too!
