The reason for some many got-aways is due to Border Patrol agents being bogged down with groups of hundreds of illegal immigrants who want to turn themselves in, so they could be processed and released. This is a tactic used by Mexican cartels so they can have an easier time smuggling in people who do not want to caught since law enforcement is tied up with large groups of people.

The Democrats have long been stifled by the republican controlled state senate till this year. The democrats took the senate by one seat, last election. I have very little doubt that there was fraud in that election.
So, the democrats now have the votes to ram through 10 years worth of bad bills. They will increase the state
budget by 30% this session. They passed a bill that connects the state budget to inflation. So going forward, I expect ever increasing taxes and fee increases to cover non stop state government growth. Far out pacing the ability of the private sector.
