Does your barrel have a fluted barrel shank? A2 covert barrels are also fluted where the older A1 covert barrels were not fluted, if I am remembering correctly. It’s been a minute since we’ve had A1 conversion kits at the shop.

You may have gotten an a2 chassis, but an A1 conversion kit. The A1 kit works just fine in the A2 and vice versa.
My barrel is fluted, exactly like the photo below. I seem to have a setup that is not acknowledged by DT. I have an SRS A2 covert with A2 barrel and 3/4x24 threads. DT says it's not possible, but tell that to my 3/4x24 to 5/8×24 adapter I have to run.

/edit Like right now I’m assuming my barrel thread is actually 3/4x24 and I’ve been had by incorrect published DT specs.

We’ve sold lots of DT rifles and I don’t recall ever seeing a barrel with the A2 flutes that had 3/4x24 threads that wasn’t .338. Learn something new everyday.

Just for interest...

My factory DT 375CT barrel at 1300rnds......still shooting 1/4 moa !!!!!!

Anyone running a 6 Dasher or 22 Dasher and feeding successfully ? I have a modified magazine for my 450 BM to reduce the coal so I think it should feed but not sure due to the taper of the cartridge.

What about 22Br/6BR ?

I’ve searched and didn’t find anything.

Does anyone know whether there’ll be a .277 Fury barrel for the SRS?

Uses the same bolt face as .308 Win, and if the SRS barrel extension can handle .338 at normal pressures, .277 at 80k PSI should be just fine?

Looking at this picture (from gunsamerica.com), we should be able to rebore a 6.5 Creedmoor barrel chamber to fit the .277 Fury.

I wouldn’t expect one from DT, but if components become available and someone has a reamer made, I don’t see why not? Maybe there’s some modifications required for the bolt to handle higher than normal pressures?

Anyone shooting 33/37XC in their SRS? I’m curious your thoughts? Is it too long to mag feed?

I think my latest set of .338LM Improved 40 barrels may be my last, and I’m thinking of moving up to an XC next.

Re: 277 Fury

As soon as someone decides to pay for one to be made, they (where they is any one person with the needed tooling and a desire to help someone else experience what short throat life means) will make them. There's unlikely to be any in stock anywhere if for no other reason than DT barrels not made by DT are pretty much one-off custom items out of the gate anyway.

We've done some for customers. Too long to mag feed. I'd recommend going heavy on the barrel profile to add some weight as there's a good amount of recoil especially on the 37 XC.

Guys, I need a bit of assistance. I was shooting a field match and decided to use my 25 PRC barrel (I have an A1 chassis). The issue I ran into is I didn't think ahead when ordering the barrel. I went with a straight 1.045" barrel, but I didn't think about the QD from my sling. When I tried to attach the QD, I found I didn't have enough clearance between the handguard and the barrel, so the tip of my QD was touching the barrel. Since I don't have an MLOK fore end, like the A2, is there another way of adding a QD point somewhere?

Search “keymod qd” in google, there are many options. You can search “picatinny qd” too.

I doubt we'd ever see one from DT. I'm sure someone will do it at some point. Curious as to what barrel life is like pushing that sort of pressure.
The caliber seems interesting. More optimized for a system that needs to run .308 mag length cartridges, which we are not restricted to on the SRS Platform. If you're looking for a laser beam, you can grab something like a 28 Nosler.

A1 doesn't have keymod. Picatinny will work, though. I didn't think about a pic mounted attachment, so thanks for the idea

DT says to use moly grease for the bolt head. Any particular type? One of my bolt&barrels has heavy lift and I would like to eliminate that issue.

I tend to favour military calibres due to economy of scale and availability that makes it’s way down to the civilian market, so .277 Fury, .300 NM and .338 NM has all my attention currently in selecting my next conversion kit.

Are bolt’s available for 26 & 28 Nosler?

I can understand that. We have 300 NM barrels on the shelf and have .338 blanks on hand. For custom barrels, I'm curious as to what we will see for demand on a .277 fury. I don't see tons of advantage in a bolt action rifle. I can see many pros that it has in a short/compact semi auto.

The same could be said about the 223 Rem conversion SAC makes. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I think it could be useful, e.g. here in Australia, .270 is the minimum calibre to hunt Sambar with.

Plus the aforementioned future ammo availability, so a potentially viable upgrade to the .223 Rem.

I disagree. The 223 SAC kit is unbelievable. The only piece of kit I’ve ever regretted selling. I’ve owned many Gucci gassers and none of them ever came close.
You’re misunderstanding my response.

I mean exactly what you said, someone that doesn’t have a 223 SAC kit might think, why would I ever want one in a bolt gun?

The same goes for 277 Fury. I think like the 223 SAC kit, it’ll be well received.

Just to emphasize just how accurate the HTI is...

I have just removed the IVEY adjustable mount i was using and have re installed a SPUHR 13mil fixed IMS mount. This arvo i re zeroed the HTI.

Note... DT factory 375CT barrel has now just over 1300 rounds through it!! and It still shoots like this!! 2x "3 shot" groups and 1 x "5 shot" group at 110yds..

30” still right? What twist do you put on them?

How much less do they weigh than a standard factory barrel?
30” The barrels we have are 1:10. We have some 1:8 on order.
for weight reduction numbers I’d need to go back double check. If I’m remembering correctly it was over 2 lbs.
