Gunsmithing Any thoughts on structured barrels?

“@JB.IC i did wonder that, if statisticians around the world all cried out in pain.”

@JB.IC and @iceng all I can say after my time in academia is YES! And it is due to the BS that gets spewed by those who use the words “statistics” and “significant” as if they were magical weapons!!!

As the OP of this thread I would like to say thank you to all the participants…SH members, shooters, and trolls. We have learned a little here, and we continue to ask some new and interesting questions.

If we can do one thing well here at SH, it is our ability to argue and debate.

@John Baker I will once again say thanks for answering questions and keeping SH updated on your work.

@ 6:18 “We’re not gonna see any horizontal dispersion because this barrel is harmonically dead”

>shows basically only horizontal dispersion

Oh they’re your “peer reviewed” source too? Funny how their first post ever was ”testing” your barrel and basically every post after that mentioning you is an advertisement… such a reputable and unbiased source if I do say so myself.

You again? 😂

I feel like I’m a reasonably sharp guy till I read through something like this. I just realized I’m a caveman.

The idea behind a well tuned gun is to have the node at the muzzle and the slower shots leaving in the upward direction as compared to the faster shots so they will converge downrange at a given distance.
With a typical barrel the node is 2.5-3 inches behind the muzzle.
If you make the barrel larger in diameter the node moves closer to the muzzle.
If you hang a mass out in front of the barrel like a tuner the node moves toward the muzzle.
Adding a tensioning tube will do the same thing.
The structured barrel is the same as several of these all in one barrel.
Do they work? I would see know reason why they wouldn't.
Are they expensive yes but probably much cheaper than a tensioned barrel.

Nope.. you are reading a bunch of horseshit pushed by people pretending to be more intellegent than they are.

I will ask again...if all these remarkable claims were true...why isn't everyone using these barrels and why isn't there a bunch of independent testing proving the claims?

Second this guy. I checked the benchrest and f-class firing lines last month...... not a single structured barrel and those guys do some weird stuff. This is bullshit 'science'

Joel Pendergrafts world record setting tensioned gun.

I may not be a smart man, but if I had the worlds best barrels I’d sponsor some top level f class/benchrest guys to get my product noticed. So either they aren’t marketing geniuses or it’s not as good as they say…

If it was the world’s best barrel you wouldn’t have to sponsor them - they’d already be shooting them. But instead you see firing lines full of krieger, bartlein and brux.

The spirit of science is rigor and criticism. Even when it’s not an elegant message. You have to be able to go up to bat for your work. An asshole’s criticism can be right even though the message is delivered offensively.

Those who have had to actually defend their research knows the moment you put it out there, the moment your work will be picked apart. It’s a good thing.

We all understand you lost your money with Theiss and Hoplite so being skeptical is accepted.
Your lack of mechanics keeps leading you down the wrong path.
There is only 1 s

If your going to post useless posts as usual, at least read the 80 page thread so you can spell screen names correctly.

Oh I understand the barrel idea(and have no opinion yet) I was just referring to the stats fello and captain molecule earlier.

Yes I do!!!!!!
How much does it cost to build a tensioned barrel gun in 2023?

Danny welcome back how are the transfers going in the storage shed?
I went to a national event and after 3 days of shooting that's what Don Nielson and Lou Murdica handed me?
Do you think it's a fake?

You’ve never presented a single fact in any thread you’re active or have been barred from. Nothing but hearsay and mental masturbation.
Oh goody the guy selling Danny the machines for his storage shed is chiming in with no facts as usual

I can link every thread you’ve posted in stating something as fact with zero evidence of such. That would be a fact.

I know who they are.
A lot. It’s a really big shed.

Hopefully your next ban is an IP ban.

That way you can keep spreading your foolishness and selling fuller brush door to door
I have even less of an idea what you’re talking about than you do, and that’s saying something.

Is it a prerequisite to a raving lunatic to be the mail man, or does it just help?

SoGay444
Your not selling many machines today because Avon now delivers but your pink car is cute
You are the reason they termed a complete mental breakdown as, “going postal.”

Let's put some facts on the table.
SoGay444 doesn't have a clue how tuners work so he is posting about structured barrels even though he sells combs to Danny in the storage shed with his massive crew open 2.5 hours a day by appointment only.
Brianf knows nothing about anything and Theiss took him for all his money at hoplite.
Rio GunWerks does transfers for 2.5 hours a day out of a storage shed in his backyard.

Camel has a national title and runs matches while these kiddies type.
Lolroflmao

Those aren’t facts. Maybe you should familiarize yourself with the definition of “facts.” I haven’t posted a single thing about structured barrels.
You tuned this this into a tuner thread.
I have no idea who the person you refer to as “Danny” is.
No one I know works in a shed.
Theis*
Linda has a national title that isn’t recognized by any sanctioning body of the sport.

Your just not educated enough to understand these types of threads.
When you get done with your shift on the tilt o whirl tonight maybe you can take up high school science.
Fact is camel shoots and wins matches and you don't.
That's a fact.
