Some legitimate complaints in this thread about AIs part availability etc. I will add not having correct size pic rails. It doesn’t matter till you start using clip ons etc and have to adjust the clamp from rifle to rifle. Gay

The contract was always going to go to Barrett.

Has AI ever gotten anywhere federally in the US?

I remember a solicitation was put out for a quick change barrel AR platform. And Robinson or one of the others had the perfect solution on the shelf. Contract was canceled because KAC wasn’t going to get it.


MIC and corruption is a thing. Mil contract awards don’t tell you that much.

I mean Ukraine is using desert techs and while I like both of mine a lot I wouldn’t use them in combat.

Precision Rifle Gear - Does anyone make a ARCA rail hand cover?

Does anyone make a cover for an ARCA rail to make it more comfortable to grip? If you have a rail on the bottom of the rifle it can be annoying to hold. I’m thinking something like the rubberized covers you can put on Pic rails that can be pulled off quickly if you want to use the rail but...

The action lightning cuts are very similar to the AXSR and the over pressure release holes are the same. And it sounds like the lug geometry of the AXSR is being used in the XC.

And differences between the XC and SR would be the safety.

There's not even a firing pin in that bolt body, so it's not even cocking the fire control group. Look at the light ass bolt lift tho! Dynamic! 🤣 it's like cycling your at aw atx with the safety in the mid position. Damn that's smooth and easy!

Yes, that is a chassis that we make specifically for Anschutz and do not sell on our website (womp womp). However, at the IPRF world cup last year there were a lot of shooters asking for Anschutz and Fortimer inlets, which I believe would be awesome!

PS: M-Lok > Key Mod. It's proven to be stronger, more reliable and easier to tightly control than just about every other system ;)

Keymod, yes....key-slot....I've yet to see any data one way or the other....but it does have more material in critical spots than key-mod, is easier to use than m-lok in my opinion, and does have the nice benefit of fitting flush on the inside...so is nice for a switch barrel application (you're not having to remove accessories or worry about damaging threads on the exposed screws/t-nuts)

Now do Key Slot. (Well-intentioned, but inflammatory statement warning): It is inarguably superior to both Keymod and MLOK as far as durability and repeatability are concerned, but it's protected by AI's IP, so you can't touch it without sending a check to the UK.

Omg Accuracy International’s key-slot is 1000% better than MLOK from a user-experience perspective. Zero futzing.

MLOK I’m always futzing. Did it turn 90° inside the handguard? Did it not? Where’s my flashlight? Goddamnit! 😂

I have no opinion as far as durability/zero retention goes.

Keyslot is significantly better than mlok for precision rifles. However it's so damn ugly on the AXSR I had to replace it with the mlok forend for no reason other than esthetics. On the AT-X where the 'keys' ;) are angled it looks good.

You might be the only guy I have ever heard of that prefers the fully erect keyslot over the semi-erect lol. Unless you’re pulling my leg?

I have an AX with that same AXSR pattern and I don’t give that look a second thought. Whereas the fully erect Keyslot of the AT-X/AT-XC is a (smallish) reason why I dislike those rifles.

The enclosed forearm FDE AT-XC looks passable…and since I’m a sage green aficionado maybe that would smooth my wounded eyes enough to…no, stop it! I need no more AI’s!

So, you cant use the new bolt with an ATX correct? Id assume thats true.

I don’t really see the difference between the atxc and atxmil….

Do they still ship with bartlen barrels?

Im just wondering. I am keeping my at-x

am I correct in understanding you can't use a barrel with a shank bigger than 1.22? or can you just take the barrel shroud top thing off and use larger barrels? if not that would exclude the Palma barrels I happen to have on hand. not that I could afford a new rifle anyways. if I could I'd just buy new contoured blanks lol.

I have several atx barrels with 1.250 shanks and forend bridge, however you can't run a straight taper, a proof comp fits tho. Atxc may be different, idk.

I just recently sold my AX that I loved, the only "complaint" is that the throw was heavy compared to a couple custom actions but honestly, if I had to do it over again, I'd 100% go the same route. As others have said, even with my "heavy" bolt lift gun, in about 5 mins you get used to how to run it. love an AI, just too poor for such a nice toy currently.
I wonder how much percentage they were able to take out of the bolt lift... curiosity only of course.

I did something stupid and sold my older ax and then went with dad to another long range comp and now I've got to look for a new rifle and I really love the AI all in all. Will this new atxc thing run with 6br out of the box? even if I have to buy those billet 12 rounders no big deal, probably get at least one anyway. ill have 6 creeds with dtacs for when I'm serious about fighting wind.
