1.=This is fair considering most departments aren’t busy enough for their city/county to justify the cost (even though the public’s expectation is always the same and the officers/teams should hold their standards as such. working in bum fuck nowhere with not as good equipment isn’t an excuse to suck). I’m retired from a busy/good sized dept in the Central Valley of gang land CA and we trained every week and felt it still wasn’t enough for our tempo. Whole team every other, sniper every other. So if you were on the sniper team it was every week and we were burning barrels on AI’s and training/competing often.

. I don’t know what agency that was but I will say Florida has a few very busy/capable teams that train hard and often. As far as the swat world goes if I recall they have a few “tier 1” teams that are HRT capable. I’ve been out of the game a couple years so I won’t bet my pension on it but this was the case a couple years ago.
I still like harris and have quite a few of them. For the cost they can't be beat. This was on a 18+# m40a5 running prs type matches for a season.That’s definitely a failure. Never say never I guess. I just didn’t see it in my time. They impressed me enough that I still use em mostly. Except for on my AI. I will say I plan on trying one of the cool competition oriented bipods now that I can pick/use my own stuff.

Is anyone else running into an issue feeding the last round from a .308 AXSR mag? The first 9 feed perfect, but the last round typically gets hung up.
I’m reasonably certain it’s the follower getting in the way because of the last round hold open, but wanted to see if the experts here have run into this and have a fix before I bust out the 7-axis CNC and massacre a follower.

@Part Timer I have 3 .308 AXSR mags and all run perfectly without tweaking. These mags shouldnt have last round hold open tho. Sounds like one of your feed lips is jacked up and is positioning the follower too high.
Same. 3 mags here, no hold open and no feeding issues.
I could see the rear of the feed lips being bowed out a bit to allow the follower to rise.

Looks like as I said, your feed lip looks off and like it's barely containing the follower.
Here's a picture of one of my mags. The follower only ever so slightly contacts the bolt lugs.
Gets hung up exactly where? You say you are "reasonably certain" it's the follower. You should be able to watch the feed and know exactly where it's hanging. You can't fix it unless you know where the problem is. Put one round ("last round") in the mag, feed it slowly and watch for where it is hanging. I have an AXMC that had problems feeding 300NM, but not 338LM or 6.5CM. Additionally, it only hung up on the odd-numbered rounds in the mag (1,3,5, etc). One would naturally think it was the mag. It turned out that by watching it, I found it was a "step" in the two-piece feed ramp on the side in front of the odd-numbered rounds in the mag. The lock ring at the rear of the action was slightly misaligned and creating the step, and the bullet tip of the 230 Bergers in the 300NM would catch on it (no problem with the other cartridges). Run the bolt full-speed and the tips would skip over the step and feed. Run it slow and they would catch/not feed. No amount of mag-tweaking would fix it. It had to go back to AI to smooth the step out, no problems since. I would not have noticed the step if I hadn't run the bolt slowly and watched for where it was hanging up.
Saw this auction going on for what I thought was an AXMC. Have you guys seen this model before? I've never seen 'AI SF'. Couldn't find anything about it online either.

Nope...all good with 5 different mags purchased over 2 years. I shoot 308 or 6.5 CM out of them.
Look for a rivet protrusion from the follower that could catch your last round .
I have four 308 mags, and have some feeding issues, mostly rounds nosediving. It's not consistent enough to find the culprit though. I suspect it's the maglips, because all 4 mags have a lot of variation in the gap, front and back.
Early on, I did have pretty significant issues with feeding 6.5 CM, whereas, 308 and 6.5 PRC fed just fine. I have since chamfered the inlets for the rivets, and feeding has been much better, but I need to find the right gap for mag lips to correct the nosediving.
People who leave their QC stickers on are the same people that think a STAR card is a great deal. Boot fucks.

I had a 16” Proof 308 and there may have been 1/2” between the end of the handguard and bbl threads.
Any length can be done if you do a forend snip.
Going to hack down the AXSR forend this winter and have my 308 chopped down to 16.5” for a fun shorty suppressed 308. Then finally paint the whole thing.

I love the idea. But if your can says only 14.5"+ from 308, I would pin and weld a muzzle device to get you to 16" and build it as a rifle with whatever stock/chassis you wanted. Or if you want to get a new can, get one with a shorter or no barrel length restrictions and go wild. 10" - 12"...

That's an interesting rifle. Importer was AINA Mingus, TX and it looks like an MC on an AT chassis. This seems to date from around 2010.

I've got an injured hand at the moment so controlling the rear bag has quite uncomfortable.. was still sub MOA at 900yds but nothing to shout about.
At 100yds it was .2 -.3 MOA groups all day... prior to my injury...

Comparing the s&b to tt (5x25), I'd take the TT for sure. But with the s&b 6x36 I was using yesterday on the TRG, I'd probably pick that over the TT 5x25. My old eyes need some higher magnification
