Accuracy International Picture Thread

Anyone have a line on a left handed AXSR 308 bolt? Also looking for a left handed 300WM AXMC bolt like Nik H. Already hit up MH and EO.

Try Sporting Services UK to see if they can get one. You’ll pay 20% down and probably wait a year but it’s your best bet. The next order window is in February for them so it’ll be a minimum of 16 weeks.

Got a part number from McMaster?

I'd normally use them. They've been out of stock for several months unfortunately.

I ordered these from McMaster and they have worked really well. I preferred these over the flush ones so they are easier to grab.

These are long enough to contact the studs in the cheek piece? I ordered some other ones and the 20mm weren’t long enough. I trimmed 25mm ones to make them work

Talking the AT thumbhole

Nope..been there and done that.

AI told me it would never produce a new run of LH AXMC 300 WM bolt bodies unless it had an order for at least 100.

I haven't had any issues with mine, although admittedly I don't use the cheekpiece much anymore. I will post some pictures tonight.

The AI logo thumb screws that I have measure 21.4MM. The most recent ones that I received from Sporting Services measure 20MM and the work fine. They are flush against the skins. Keep in mind that there is a barrel above the threads on the McMaster-Carr that is 10MM. The hole on my AT skins measured 9.97MM. So you should be able to open up the hole on the skins if needed. It may work out better to shorten the threads and have the barrel body recess into the AT skins.

This should work with the thumbhole. Just have to shorten a bit. They would stick out a bit though

So… while I wait for a can for the AX338…anyone using a blast deflector for one? And if so which one.
Be awesome if someone made a blast deflector which fit the AI brake.

Same pic as page back but ran through a AI (lol) art app. Neat.

Here are some pictures of the McMaster thumbscrews I used in my link a few posts back. Thread length was cut to 17mm, shoulder height 7.5mm, shoulder diameter 9.75mm, and the thumbscrew oal is 28.5mm. The hole size on my skins are 11.5mm wide and 9.5mm tall.

With the screws tightened all the way you can see the threads bottom out to the backside of the post holes.

This is the cheek piece height with the screws tightened all the way not allowing it to seat properly.

Here is the gap distance between the thumbscrew head and the side of the AT skins.

Maybe I just got lucky but hopefully it helps someone.

Not sure if non-AI AIs are cool here, but wanted to share this one. It was actually built for GA State SWAT. Apparently the gunsmith built 5 and they only wanted 3, so 2 were sold. It's a 20" factory fluted 700 Police LTR. I had LRI add the bolt knob and flute the bolt. It had a tuned xmark in there, but even a tuned xmark isn't much to write home about, so I swapped in a TT. Not the coolest rifle in here by a long shot, but it's unique enough to share I suppose.

I dig rifles with stories like this. Sounds like a clean build too. The attention to detail is also nice. I wonder how the GA State SWAT likes their other 3.

It’s cool. But the constant rubbish in this AI picture thread isn’t.

The hide has changed over the years, unlike actual AI’s which are no fuss get the job done systems, a number of new age AI owners have bought an expensive piece of kit and think it’s a flex on people to own acting like misbehaved children. The irony.

This is not to discredit those who really run AI’s. There’s a lot of posing going on. It’s everywhere these days in everything.

For the misbehaved kids or full grown men at the back yes I can afford AI’s and so what, move along. This is Snipershide.

Guys are getting soft here….sad
Guys that think they can talk down on or be disrespectful to people because their rifle is more expensive are sad.

Ain’t nothing soft about getting sick of the childish bullshit in here. Some of us have been here the entire time before this was the main theme of AI threads and before the hide was on this server and first hand seen the evolution of soft.

Spare me your karening. This is an AI thread. People keep posting non AI rifles in it (sometimes very nice non AI rifles) and therefore we make jokes about it. Both because it is funny and because it keeps this thread from turning into a Bubba AICS build thread.

This is for AIs. If you want to see other rifles, go to other threads. This has nothing to do with cost.

If you have no sense of humor, please leave the hide.

I get what you mean, I get the jokes and you highly likely get what I’m getting at. We’ve heard the ‘hahaha you’re poor joke’ for years.

Don’t you think it’s time it’s not the main theme of AI threads?

Because it’s only really AI threads that this happens in. Same thing happens with Staccato in the handgun world, which is also amusing.

We are here for AI’s yes. This running joke would unanimously win the beating a dead horse on the Hide title.
