Ingenuity Powder System

I have one of the last V3's that Adam shipped and, along with the IP trickler, it is a great piece of gear.
There is also a Creedmoor Sports TRX925 for weighing cases and other general tasks and a spare FX120i just waiting for the IP Powder Meter System.
It’s very well worth to consider getting Paul’s V3 upgrade as well ( housing, electronics and cup) if you don’t have them already.

After all it’s just money, right? 😆

I really like that V3 upgrade and had it been available when I bought my IP Powder Meter I would have gotten it.
If I could buy a few parts and pieces, like the small platen for example, I would consider.
It's my understanding the new system will incorporate a lot of this.

Yes it does, all but the new thrower

I recently got the upgrades for the V3 and IP trickler…. Absolutely fantastic! It makes the V3 plus IP run 20-50% faster. The keypad controller is fantastic.

I recently acquired the full V3 system from ingenuity, to work in unison with their trickler I've had for a while. I also received his wiring harness. How does this integrate into the FX120I scale? The harness has a main plug that doesn't interface with anything on my scale, when I plug his power cable into my scale, the scale doesn't power up. What am I doing wrong here? Do I need remove the auto trickler circuit board from the back my scale? This is what my system looks likes if anyone is curios. Not my photos, but I have the same setup.

Looking at the photo, I think I'm missing the keypad which probably controls the whole system.
I emailed ingenuity but didn't get a response back.

EDIT: Paul from Ingenuity reached out and informed me a second package was on the way with the keypad/controller. He was out of stock at current location and it was delayed. I was unaware of multiple packages coming.

I don't think you can use the IP harness without the keypad. The keypad is what makes the IP system great.
You are correct, the larger pin ct serial plug interfaces with key pad, and the smaller pin count plug goes into the rear the scale. Obviously lights and power are relatively simple. I hadn't saw the keypag with harness installed prior to me sourcing that photo for my post above, figured out my issue pretty quickly at that point.

Just picked up the power meter to run with my V3 and the cup. I am in the preorder for the
IP dropper and rest but am in no rush.
I would like to get the keypad controller for sure as I like to use my phone for other things
like streaming shows when loading.
I am a little late to the power meter and have only just discovered it.

I'm totally content with his hardware, electronics and 3d printed mounts to use my v3 thrower with his trickler. Avg charge time is 6.7-8.0 seconds. His dropper is likely better, but it's not gonna be that much better.
His dropper is (going to be 🤞) the only thing available in this class since V3's are no longer made.

I wish Adam would have listened to feedback and kept the V3. I’m to the point in my shooting cadence that I want things to go faster and 2 AutoTrickler type systems to make that happen. Which now means waiting on 2 IP systems. I’m happy with the 1 V3 + IP for now.

A single v3 with the Ingenuity system drops a charge as fast as I can seat a bullet in the previous filled case, how much faster do you need? Are you loading multiple chamberings at once?

I am with Jay Thor on this. I do things in stages. Otherwise I get distracted and I like to be so busy dropping powder that that is all I can keep up with. If I have a couple of seconds between drops, I will place the bullets at top the loaded cases.
That and most local matches and some 2 day matches my wife is shooting also; so I’m loading between 200-500 the night before. She in that case can dump powder while I seat bullets. Otherwise yeah, I’d rather do one operation at a time.

Exactly (now 9 days). So, since the website still says "May" (of this year :)), has anyone heard the new date he's projecting? It seems like most of the time he posts that info on sites other than this one when he does.
Not making excuses for him. But this has been par the course for every pre order I have been apart of on this website. Actions, powder drop, etc. it’s almost as if it’s the industry standard.

If Paul could get his new system out today, that meets his standards, he would. I expect he is having supplier issues. I would rather have Paul wait to get the system right, and meet his quality standards, than release it in a hurry with quality and reliability issues.

Whenever I pre order something like this I usually just forget about it and whenever I get the email I'm excited about it again. Id assume you all probably already have ways of measuring powder so why all the worries about when it will be released. It seems everyone has faith that it will be the bees knees so just be patient. I don't have anything more then a chargemaster right now so whenever I do see this it will be a huge upgrade.

I agree and I will wait for his full system. It is exactly what I want.

But I also think these delays have gone from the merely annoying to the ridiculous. It has been going on for quite some time and supply chain issues are only the latest cause of delay.

Cheers

So, my guess is he will say end of August next time he says something publicly - or next time he has a 1-hour convo w somebody and they divulge it on a forum somewhere
The so-called PP Trickler (less than half the price of the IG) should be out very soon, so pushing it to August (or beyond) could lead to a case of FAFO.

Sure, he'll probably still sell thousands of units, but I suspect there's a growing contingent of people who will decide to just purchase two PP Tricklers and still have some beer money left over.

Yeah, tell me about that

My V4 yesterday was giving me fits, and it reminded me why divorce cost so much: cause it’s worth it. You pay a lot of money to avoid frustration.

That stupid fucking V4 yesterday kept having the large tub motor, bind up and vibrate and yeah, yeah yeah I know push the two back or pull it forward, but it was to the point where I was having to do that like every five throws. Completely unacceptable.

And then fucking around with shins to get H50 BMG to work and I was gonna go try to find a tip for it and I’m just sick of messing around with these faulty machines

Have had the power meter now for a bit an really like it. I did get in on the pre order but I am surely way at the bottom.
I never got to see the thread that went off the rails but I am sure it was interesting to say the least. Was reading through
this one and was wondering if anyone ever figured out if the IP will have to draft door as seen in the pics when this thread
started??? I can have a cross wind at times and I am sure that would be helpful..

I'm still very green here and have no affiliations to Paul. What I can say is, anyone that has designed stuff before you are at the mercy of machine shops, suppliers like digikey, board mfg's, mistakes in specs, it's a royal f*^ing PITA. Been there many times. From Pauls perspective wouldn't he like to pump these things out and enjoy the reward$ of his creation? Heck yeah he would, I would, heck. Looking forward in getting it when it's ready.

I still have a long way to catch up to you guys. Happy to join the club and come into it at a time with so much innovation and changes.
