NoIs that an integrally suppressed barrel on that AT?
Thanks, I thought long action was different.Pre 14 AI, is going to be M27. Only the AXMC, PSR, AXSR, ASR use the M30 shank barrels.
AX338 isn't the smaller M27 tenon. Only the AWM used M27 (for long actions).I have a pre-14 AX 338 lapua, it’s mainly collected dust as I don’t have any components for 338.
I bought a new magnum bolt so I can run 300 win mag (which I do have components for). But, what barrel tenon do I use? I am under the assumption I can use AXMC.
Also If I can, and I choose to get another bolt for 308, can I use the kit to feed the short action cartridges?
I got an “AX” 300 wing mag bolt. But the AXMC would be a lot easier moving forward.AX338 isn't the smaller M27 tenon. Only the AWM used M27.
Did you get an AXMC 300WM bolt? I always wondered if the AX338 and AXMC actions were identical except for the quick change barrel feature.
Interesting. From new/factory? 300WM wasn't a factory option at the time, for the AX338.I got an “AX” 300 wing mag bolt. But the AXMC would be a lot easier moving forward.
Sounds like I should pop the barrel off and verify the tenon.
Maybe in the UK it might be different. But in the states, all the quick change barrel long action/magnum rifles are M30. Mostly known as post 2014 (but there are some pre 2014 AXMCs) The AX338 still uses the old AW actions but in a AX chassis so it still uses the M27 tenon. Or basically if it's a long action, and takes double stack mags, it's a M30. This is not including some of the newer stuff made for special departments(German G22)AX338 isn't the smaller M27 tenon. Well I could have misread and might have an expensive paperweight.Interesting. From new/factory? 300WM wasn't a factory option at the time, for the AX338.
To be fair, I have AW bolts with small firing pins, which technically aren't original spec.
AX338 is a bulkier long action which is visibly similar if not identical to the AXMC, and I am certain it is the same in the US too. There are photos on sale posts here that depict this:Maybe in the UK it might be different. But in the states, all the quick change barrel long action/magnum rifles are M30. Well you might be lucky and find that the AX338 is identical to an AXMC for all the important bits.Well I could have misread and might have an expensive paperweight.
Part number was 20013 on EO.
