so i haven't really gotten into the detail yet, but i believe they ukrainians worked for 18 months to pre-position drone launch vehicles (trucks) inside russia, and then coordinated their attacks. i can only assume the positions of the launch vehicles would have reduced the warning times and ability to react to them (versus if they had come from ukraine).
i am not even sure the details matter that much, but the way the press emphasis is on "nuclear weapon platforms" is hilarious.
they would only need one, if they even used a long range bomber, which i would doubt.
