My position is that our neocon led foreign policy, which has us absolutely stretched as an empire, spending trillions on wars and maintaining 800+ military bases around the world, will be the downfall of the United States.

We are going down the same path as other former great empires. We are the architects of our own demise. We are marching slowly towards the cliff, and another conflict against a country like Iran will only hasten that march.

Fighting these idiotic regime change wars is inherently against US interests. Spending billions to fight Houthis is also against US interests.

He wrote a statement on his yearbook page where he lamented a bit (was tired of explaining where he comes from) and everyone asking him things like who he was, what his name means and where he's from. As for my HS classmate, since he was in the US in the mid 70's, it's quite possible that his family was either loyal to "The Shah," or fleeing from "The Shah." I don't know which, but I don't think his family was involved with either Ayatollah or loyal to either. Likewise, one of my college classmates was Iranian but a regular person (regular US clothing, etc).. Also, as it turns out my hair stylist in the PRNJ for almost 10-15 years was Iranian who became a US Citizen, subsequently. And very stylish US Clothing (no Hijabs or anything).
