Ukraine war Bullshit.

What would be more impressive is if they said Russia was launching a large scale offensive with 160,000 kill bots.
Drone wars are fun and all, but it's also getting boring, time for the full on terminator style robot wars (but no they probably won't be robots that look like humans).

"France clarified that it’s still set on supporting Ukraine with military aid but wants to prioritize the purchase of European weapons, and that it was also dealing with budget constraints. Italy had a similar message and pointed to the Italian-made SAMP/T air defense system that it has already supplied to Ukraine."

IOW, France is broke. Everyone wants the US taxpayer to fund it.

"Reuters reported that some NATO allies were caught off guard by Trump and Rutte’s announcement. Rutte claimed that six countries — Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands, and Canada — were already willing to participate in the scheme. "

Was wondering we that would come about,...

Even that Musk guy knew this was coming some time back.
But the money train was a bit too hard to ignore.

I don't suppose if we were in an actual legit (not silly proxy B.S.) war with Russia or China, pretty much all sides would be working as fast as possible to get rid of the other parties satellites and protect their own and who cares about any "oversight bodies" protesting.

I'll bet LEO would be a pretty dangerous and messy place after like day 2 on any real war between the 3 that have the ability to mess around with stuff like that.

Think about GPS satellites. Then it gets into "interesting times".

GPS for civilians is one thing
GPS for the rest of the world is also one thing

Accurate, reliable, very hard to jam positioning systems for our actual military when it actually counts are a whole different business.

Russians have their own version as well, so do the Chinese.

However that being said most modern cell phone users use GPS + antenna maps in cities, so hard to say how accurate or not they would be if GPS for civilians isn't working for a bit.

The reason I bring it up is that some of the same GPS satellites used by the military are used for civilian GPS. Its a dual use system. Some US civilian systems also use the Russian GLONASS satellites, comingling the two or tie into GLONASS only, usually its just a setting. Drones are an example.

AND the other hiccup: the DoD leases commercial satellite bandwidth when needed. In theory that could make them a target as well which would have further very unsavory implications. There are estimates that up to 40% of SATCOM use is met through this route, with Starlink no doubt being a part of it. So yeah, all those Musk satellites would definitely be in the mix.

Nothing GPS (except GPS timing) will effect everyone, except the sheep. Even then those who don't wait for someone to save them won't be effected at all, even by the timing or all of them going tits up. The side benny is with that much extra junk being generated, most all in that belt will get hammered at some point.

makes me sure all my real (old) paper maps are worth the value i place on them. GPS dependent types will be screwed sooner than i predicted, maybe.

Back in WWII
One tactic that was used in some places facing invasion was to pull down ALL the street signs, names, highway markers, road signs and everything identifying what road was what and where things were.

So here's the next rub.
How many folks know directions and locations enough to if that was to happen, they'd be able to still figure out where they were and how to get where they wanted to be?

If GPS went away, just think about the number of lives that will be saved by not driving into the river or lake. Then again most could not find a grocery store or fast food joint w/o it. Course that might slim down America, hell with those benny's alone, we'd be better off w/o it? Who knew killing GPS would be such a benefit?

I'll bet most Uniform Hanger and Oppressor types would have a bit of a hard time locating who they want to put the boots to in any quick time if GPS was down and "somebody" had removed all the street signs in the local area.

There was this time many decades ago, during the cold war, where we lived in this remote area and well it was remote enough it wasn't considered worth paying for road signs.

One day during some war games a whole squad of battle rattled up British paratroopers showed up at our gate, mentioning they couldn't figure out the maps and could someone kindly please show them the way back to their intended rally point.

It would be such a shame if Japan suddenly found their prized space assets being used for target practice...

That’s going to be a problem for the Russians.

And maybe for us as well, depending on what Russia does to retaliate.

My mother and grandmother were actually hunted by the GESTAPO in Oslo because they distributed underground newspapers for the resistance movement. They were never caught, but my uncle spent the last year of WW2 in a KZ camp because he was a recistance fighter in Milorg and got caught in a road block with less than perfect falsified id papers.
Neat story, whoosh.

Getting things like computers to link up and some radioes depend on perfect time synk up.

I'll end up waiting for the rooster to crow to get up and let the chickens out.

Maybe this will knock out the 100mph limmiter in my F-150

And who came and pushed the Gestapo(german/axis power) out of your country?

I think your jump to conclusions that if you don't play captain save a hoe with Ukraine they are coming for you next is a bit nuts. Ukraine is a whole different thing, looking at the why and the connection. Norway ain't Ukraine.

Nordic air power thing ya'll got going on is quit interesting and those F-35's are pretty fancy. Welcome.

If the forces you are supporting are successful in our neck of the woods my daughter and wife will be r***d and later k***ed with a flaregun in the vigina.
The third world hordes are already doing that to countless Norwegians and laughing at you in the process.

All inflicted upon you by the subhuman leftists in your government. And the one person that tried to fix your problem was thrown in prison.

You’ve got bigger problems than Russia.

Was wondering when the Ukraine gen pop would have balls enough to deal with reality.
No offense intended, but I must have missed the Ukie gen pop doing anything that would resemble "dealing with reality".

I think you're on the right track though. But, I think the percentage of Ukie's being angry will have to reach 90 percent or higher.

What an abomination. An even bigger abomination is that nuland and blinken are still not behind bars and walk free to this day.

I hear you.
Next time you go visit a riot check out the trucks homeland shows up with.

Blk helicopters flying grids taking plate numbers stingray surveillance till they cut all coms.

They are using this shit as a training exorsize.

Depending on how effective they demonstrate themselves to be, they’ll likely be repurposed by the next administration - Democrap or Republic*nt, it doesn’t matter.

i forgot another beni of GPS tanking. ie NSA will have more trouble following your every move thru your car or cell phone. secret to not being tracked and recorded all the time is,of course, dump the cell phone.

But but but our uke friends here say that the people are fine with Z staying in charge because of martial law and the war. Funny how they excuse all of the other BS that comes with martial law. Elections, free speech, freedom of religion, freedom of the press and the big one, Voluntary military service. When young and middle aged men have to be abducted on the street by the government and forced to serve it doesn't bring to mind that the people are behind the government leaders
