that holster would have been good for the Jews when they were carrying hi powers with empty chamber. cool idea.
what were the Russians carrying when they went to it? as far as i know all their service pistols,TOK and MAK,at least were problem free in this regard.

Sig public statement regarding the P320.

P320 Information

P320 Safety Information

Recently, there have been a number of reports and claims regarding the safety of the P320 pistol and its use by the U.S. Military and law enforcement agencies. We understand you may have questions. We want to address your concerns and provide you with full, complete, and accurate information.

SIG SAUER has ALWAYS and will continue to put the safety and security of the U.S. Military, the law enforcement community, our consumers, and the public first. To this end, we want to be sure concerned citizens have access to complete facts.

The P320 pistol is one of the safest, most advanced pistols in the world -meeting and exceeding all industry safety standards. Its design has been thoroughly tested and validated by the U.S. Military and law enforcement agencies at the federal, state and local levels. In addition, the P320 has been rigorously tested, and is currently in use by militaries and law enforcement agencies around the world.

FBI Testing and Report

A recently publicized internal report from the FBI’s Ballistic Research Facility (BRF) created some confusion and raised questions about the safety of the P320. The FBI prepared this report for the Michigan State Police after an officer was involved in an accidental discharge. SIG SAUER engineers met with the FBI and Michigan State Police on several occasions to review the report and the incident. Ultimately, the FBI conducted a more detailed, repeatable, and comprehensive battery of testing using compatible equipment. The subsequent testing resulted in zero instances of failures and the Michigan State Police are now confidently issuing officers P320 based pistols. The FBI BRF have yet to make any official claims or statements regarding the safety of the P320 pistol or any of its variants. However, we are urging the FBI BRF and FBI Director Kash Patel to release a full and complete testing and evaluation report on their updated P320 safety testing.

Department of Homeland Security

An internal memo from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)/ U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) was recently posted online stating the agency was halting its use of the P320. Many online media outlets immediately sought to attribute this to the above referenced FBI BRF report, which is incorrect. DHS has never raised any safety concerns about the P320 and ICE has since extended their existing contract with SIG SAUER another two years. Since DHS has yet to comment publicly correcting their improperly leaked memo, or any statements questioning the safety of the P320, we are now urging ICE to release all information on P320 testing. SIG SAUER is honored to continue aiding ICE in their mission to protect America.

U.S. Air Force M18

There was a recent tragic incident at F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming which resulted in the death of an Airman. Because the incident involved the discharge of a (P320 based) M18 pistol, the Air Force is actively conducting an evaluation of M18 pistols within the specific Command where the incident happened. This cautionary step is standard procedure. We proactively offered assistance to the U.S. military as they investigate the incident. Contrary to several online reports, (P320 based) M17 and M18 pistols remain on active duty with all branches of the U.S. Military, including the U.S. Air Force, defending freedom around the world. We have absolute confidence in the U.S. Military’s ability to conduct a thorough investigation and report their findings. As we learn more information about the investigation, we will continue to provide updated information.

P320 Range and Training Bans

Following several of these inaccurate reports, a number of ranges, training providers, and training facilities made the reactionary decision to ban the P320 and its use in their facilities. We are actively working to provide these individuals with accurate information along with a detailed understanding of the P320 and its safety features. If you are impacted by a P320 range or a training provider ban, we urge you to reach out to SIG CUSTOMER SERVICE: 603-610-3000 Option 1 or send a message hereso we can clarify any misinformation and provide the truth.

The P320 CANNOT, under any circumstances, discharge without the trigger first being moved to the rear. This has been verified through exhaustive testing by SIG SAUER engineers, the U.S. Military, several major federal and state law enforcement agencies, and independent laboratories. This video provides a detailed view into all of the various safety features of the P320 and provides a detailed explanation of how the safety system works; for further information on the P320 please visit here.

As with any gun, the P320 will discharge if the trigger is pulled to the rear. Accordingly, SIG SAUER continues to remind its customers, employees, and the public to employ all safe gun-handling practices as spelled out in detail in our product manuals. The SIG SAUER Academy remains a resource to customers, employees, and the public in offering various firearms safety courses.

We respect the public’s concern and are actively working to provide as much information as possible. We sincerely thank you for your continued support of SIG SAUER and urge anyone with additional questions or concerns regarding the P320 and/or safe firearms handling to reach out to our customer service team.

interesting affair. with so many righteous alts around, how does sig propose to sell these? the 365 was a big win and change the market item. this one is a loser that it seems to me they should suck up and bail. even if the problem is over stated i don't see many people buying in. the gun biz has always had some odd stuff happening for the 60 + years i have been involved as a customer and observer.

The fucking amazing part is how hard the Sigonughts are ramping up their defense of their favorite product like it’s a religious relic.

Even seen many calling Wyoming Guns a retard and homo for making an sig fire like 17 times in a row with the trigger against the wall and some slide wiggling.

He did it , it’s real , refute the evidence or do another video but why flame an old man for doing something multiple times that “cannot happen”.
Guess it ends today

The biggest surprise in that vid is how the slide rattles around on the gun, just how cheap do they make those pieces of shit?

Just curious. For all the P320s/M18s that are being shunned by the Military/LE etc. (ie. they reported "incidents" with them), how many of them have have had the suggested "servicing/upgrade" to prevent such incidents? And, have there been any such "incidents" after the servicing/upgrade?

My P320 was upgraded almost immediately after SIG offered the program. Haven't had a lick of trouble with it, since. Technically, I didn't have any trouble with it even before the upgrade, but....

I'm waiting for a proper lawsuit against Sig which goes to trial and includes discovery. Let's see the engineering documents, the test reports, the internal communication, the manufacturing data. Let's see how tolerance stack analysis was used to determine sear engagement and the release point for the firing pin safety, and how that rolled into GD&T for each component, and ultimately how this drove the statistical process control and measurement system analysis in the plant and at the component suppliers. I want to see this company forced to defend its design and manufacturing of this pistol in the same way that an automotive supplier would for a $0.50 piece of interior trim.

And then I want to see the procurement documentation for every agency that decided to go with this pistol over competing products from Glock, S&W, and H&K. My guess is that the people making these decisions have no idea how to discern a good product from bad, and are simply blowing our tax dollars on whomever offers the sweetest deal.

I am suspicious by nature BUT the only way I can figure how Sig got these contracts this 320 one in particular is some serious kickbacks. Forget for a minute that Cohen was convicted in. German court of weapons trafficking in this time frame - but also from what I’ve read an abbreviated test AND Sig was allowed to drop their per unit price after a certain point in said trials to be $80-90 below nearest competitor.

Then the drop safe issue and the frame cracking issue in the very early days of M17.

That report from FT Riley Kansas the armor unit that took delivery of the first delivered pistols - out of 35 30 were deemed unserviceable and that information was never released until now .

Gets funnier and funnier the deeper we look .

It's either that or they simply bought the business with aggressive pricing in an attempt to take market share from the competition. If you're in government procurement, it would be very difficult to explain why you went with a more expensive product from a "foreign" company instead of the cheaper option from proud hard-working Americans.

That wasn’t randomly going off though was it?
And it wasn’t really a gun design flaw, but more of a junk ammo issue?
actually that is mostly what i have read as well. army had a bunch of the wrong powder that Stoner told them not to use. they used it anyway for the $ savings. i have always found that odd just like some say about Sig getting the buy because of price drop.
this gov and esp DOD waste billions thru corruption, waste and stupidity. they can't even stand or complete an audit. yet, they cheap out on THE basic thing-an individual weapon. but we know the movers and shakers give 2 shits about any COT.

Really? One of the most advanced pistols in the world? As in, it’s so advanced that it decides when it’s time to fire a round?

“The P320 pistol is one of the safest, most advanced pistols in the world - meeting and exceeding all industry safety standards.”

I would like to see Sig produce a detailed list of those industry safety standards.

Word was that a prominent US General or SecDef (I forget name and actual title) was tied to contracts with Olin. He forcefully steered the 5.56 ammo requirement to specify one of the Olin powders. This was shoved down the throat of the ammo plants without testing and eval.

Turns out the chosen Olin ball powder had too much calcium carbonate as a stabilizer. This would build up in the M16 gas tube enough to restict/-retard gas flow. Eventually the rifles would cease to cycle regardless of how much oil you slopped into the bolt. The build up was exacerbated by high humidity, high ambient heat and high fire rates that heated the gas system. New rifles would run great then slowly die of gas starvation once put into service.

The early M16s and XM15 design had a lot of stuff right but shitty ammo was hard to overcome. Even the best horse can't win a race if you poison their feed.
