I had a 7 prc when it first came out but moved away from it. I had a question any one running or tried n568 with 190 grain bullet? I used n565 last time but I have a ton of n568. I would prolly increase the freebore if I did do it just for the 190s

Alright, another question…. Has anyone seen a measurable difference between virgin brass and fire formed?
I’m sure there is a thread with this info already but figured I’d ask anyways. Anyone have a pet load or two with Peterson brass and 190 bergers, using N570 and or N560?
I love Lapua brass and use it for all my other rifles but I’m finding Peterson is more consistentDo you already own these components? If not I strongly suggest - lapua, 180 and h1000

I already own the components. My load now is 66.0gr H1000 federal 215M, Berger 190’s and Peterson brass. Good for .5” groups, but temp sensitive. So got some N560 and N570. I usually fire form my brass first, but for the sake of possibly saving powder, bullets and primers I didn’t know how measurable the fire formed brass results were vs virgin
I’d love to say the same as you I went from a 67.2gr load under 3/8” at 70 ish degrees 2850 average to a 67.2gr around 3/4 at 84” and 2950. That was after a few 5rnd groups just to be sure it wasn’t a flukeMy h1k experience has been very temp stable

I’m not against the powder I promise, the powder shoots lights out in a few of my rifles. The barrel has between 175 a 225 rounds through it. Which I know it speeds up over the break in. I have two things converging at once, temps outside heating up and barrel break in. But you make a good point maybe I’m over analyzing itI promise that’s not the powder. Is this a new barrel? Less than 250 rounds?
I've seen where h1000 wasnt as temp stable as they claim i didn't have that extreme but did have issues. I moved to n565 and n568 and never had another temp issue. I can shoot my loads in 95 degrees to 15 degreesI’d love to say the same as you I went from a 67.2gr load under 3/8” at 70 ish degrees 2850 average to a 67.2gr around 3/4 at 84” and 2950. I believe you! I thought it was extremely odd. None of my other sticks have done that to me but they may have had 500+ rounds through them before I did development. I just didn’t want to waste stuff if others experienced similar results. I love h1000 and it’s easy to getI’ve got 3-4k rounds of magnum with h1k and I shoot over chrono everytime. I see about a half a fos per degree that bell curves at 90 and 30.
I promise you did not see 100fps increase from powder in 15 degrees.
That speed difference is from the barrel not the powder. Thats how I knew it was a new barrel
mine as well, its the most gain ive personally had wihich was about 90 fps between the new barrel and the 2nd firing on the brass. definitely never had much temp swings with h1000 even in the S TX. heat.I believe you! Have you seen or have any issues with blow ups with the a-tips
I use Atips exclusively for my 300 win and 50 BMG, with that said they perform amazing in the 300, including taking animals, the 50 is another story, target the are fine animal the explode.Have you seen or have any issues with blow ups with the a-tips
I don't think the 7 PRC can launch a 190 A Tip fast enough to worry about blow ups, even the 166 at around 3200fps. The 190 A tip was definitely my favorite target bullet during testing. I did a 7PRC cartridge guide on tscustomsrifles. I'm not here to sell anything, just sharing the data, and there's a lot to look through.Have you seen or have any issues with blow ups with the a-tips
Can I ask which powder and load?I don't think the 7 PRC can launch a 190 A Tip fast enough to worry about blow ups, even the 166 at around 3200fps. I run a 26" barrel so it's not too hard to get 2900fps out of the 190-195gr bullets. A 30" barrel comfortably launches 190 A tips at 3k, and with the .420 G7 it really feels like cheating.
Berger 195EOL -0.030" with around 69gr Retumbo or 75gr LRT has worked well in a few different rifles/barrel lengths. OAL in a saami chamber is roughly 3.400".Can I ask which powder and load?
Great info, thanks!Berger 195EOL -0.030" with around 69gr Retumbo or 75gr LRT has worked well in a few different rifles/barrel lengths. OAL in a saami chamber is roughly 3.400".
190 Atip with 64.5gr H4831SC also 30 off has shot great as well. OAL around 3.395" in a saami chamber.
Obviously be smart, confirm your distance to the lands and start low/work up the powder charge. CCI250's and Hornady brass is what I have used so far. If you're using Peterson/ADG or Lapua, I'd start at LEAST 2 grains lower.
If you don't have those powders I use a number of powders and bullets in my guide.
