Well,
I debated painting a setup for years. I'm glad I finally tried it. I tried it on my lowest-cost setup in case I screwed the pooch....LOL....Posted this in case anyone was on the fence about it like I was for so long.
I followed the "M1A GAP Camo" thread on here. It was a great write-up. The Minwax final clear coat is highly recommended. If I do GAP again - I'll do a few things different. Glad I tried it on my not-so used Elk gun first. I know I could have done better - it was just a first attempt.

(Howa 1500 .06 - ditched the hogue stock, replaced with the Weatherby....Timney trigger, Leupy MarkAR glass, EG base (bedded), burris rings. )

Yea, next time I don't think I'll use my wife's scrap booking scissors - and I'll make the cut-outs a little bigger.

Dude, looks great to me. I did mine by overlapping painters tape on the window of my truck and cutting out shapes with a razor.

That's a good idea. I ended up at the craft store and bought some blank white sheets of vinyl decals (next to the vinyl numbers and letters)...then cut out the shapes, peeled off the backing and stuck them on.
