I recently ran a Legion Firearms LF-15c at Storm Mountain Training Center's Urban Sniper Course.

I used 62 grain M855 and 77 grain MK 262 Mod 1 ammo for the course.

No malfunctions and great accuracy from the LF-15c with target engagements from 25 yards to 655 yards. Atmospherics for the course were 2600 ft, 77-85 degree's and wind ranging from 5-21 mph. The 16" LF-15c performed to a high standard and really delivered its promise of an accurate, reliable battle rifle.

May you someday come up with an original idea to put a $2500 price tag on.


Other the other hand, +1 to what redirt said about a very impressive website. Infinitely better than the old one, an absolute MUST for sales nowadays.

Upside down target engagement is used to simulate a rollover and still being able to engage targets of opportunity. It's just a drill to take you out of your comfort zone.

As for the Legion Firearms LF-15c, it's worth every damn penny. Ive shot noveskes, LWRC's, DD's and colts and the legion out performs "In my opinion" from having hands on experience. It has great accuracy and it's reliable. But don't take my word for it, Ive only been shooting AR's in nasty places for 8+ years... If your near Virginia, pm me and will go shoot or if your near Texas hit them up and they will gladly put everything out on the range for you to shoot and see for yourself.

Nice pics....legions are decent ar's (looks like they only build 5.56 versions) they use remarked mega billet uppers and lowers, just your pay ALOT more for theirs. Outperforming noveske, I doubt it....noveske will be around long after legion fades away.....and I personally think is the best D.I. AR platform. I'm just spoiled on gas piston POF's.
Don't mean to shit on your thread, just responding back about the outperforming noveske, and POF in my opinion is the way to go!
They are purdy lil' AR, I'll give them that!

Also Legion does have some 7.62 configurations in the works. I will say again though, the guys at Legion are very passionate and will allow ANYONE to come on out and shoot & see for yourself. That takes some balls but that is what should be done. The other companies have that "buy it now, complain later policy", Legion doesn't.

Like I stated before, I have shot a LWRC M6A2, a Daniel Defense DDM4, my military issue M-4 and a Noveske 14.5 light carbine. From running various drills and shooting generally the same ammo (M855 or variant and MK 262 Mod 1) I grouped better with the legion, I ran faster and more accurate through the various drills with the LF-15c and when it comes to ergonomics of the LF-15c, it fits me. I've ran the LF-15c through CQB work and precision work, and from 5 yards to 657 yards (furthest that I have shot with the LF-15c) I like the accuracy and reliability. Those two combinations are all I care about. I also like the quality of service from the legion team. If I have a question or need assistance they respond swiftly.

Basically it boils down to a good fit and great service. As for how the gun is made and why certain features are better than other you'll have to contact legion. I'm not a tech, I just shoot the damn thing lol.

Simulate "roll over" ... whoever sold you on that is a bit off their rocker.

Going supine is one thing, going completely over it pretty silly...

I did a Storm Mountain competition a bunch of years back, they set up a stage where they wanted you to shoot sideways out of a window or something like that, they blocked the scope so you couldn't deploy the bipod. I went Hawkins, shot and hit the target. The SM Range Officer said, "you can't do that" and I said to him, "I just did... "

good to be hard, hard to be smart.

Hey no problem. It would be more practical If I could convince Range control to drag out a Hummvee rollover simulator on the range and run the drill but I doubt thats going to happen. It was neat to shoot with the gun upside down. We had to do some guessing since the H59 doesn't have any stadia lines above the reticle's center, so we used terrain landmarks near the target to reference off of. We ran this and the 90 degree drill out to 650+ yards on steel with a Full Value wind of 5-11 mph.

I agree that the chances of it happening are pretty slim, but it could happen and we didn't spend a whole lot of time on the drill, just enough to get a feel for it. I have seen a few videos that showed a PSD car get flipped by an IED and you could see inside of the car that the men were trying to regain a foothold and bring their weapons back online but the men who detonated the IED rushed up and shot them.

Just to add that driver error roll overs are a constant thing overseas. I personally seen one and responded to a handful of others. Its just good once and a while to shoot outside the norm and try some different things.

Amusing story about Storm Mountain Lowlight.

I did a DDM school there a few years back, prior to going back overseas. After we turned in our assessments/evals to our organization, future courses were held at another location.

Whats wrong with the price? The OBR (which my team runs) is worth every penny, just as IMO the Legion is worth every penny. Its a solid rifle, I just don't understand how that idea is hard to soak in? The Noveske VTAC runs over 2k, the POF mid length 14.5 runs over 2k... its user preference man, to each his own but with my own trials I like what I have right now and thats a LF-15c.
