I have a Tac Pro cheek riser on my M25. I can get the perfect height for it, however have issues with my cheek slippy during hot days. I've seen pads made to put on top of the riser for this purpose but am not able to find it at the moment.

Has anyone else seen what I'm talking about? It was on the hide some time ago. I tried skateboard tape, but that was a little rough on the face.

Re: Pad for kydex cheek riser

You need the pads that SeaDek sells for $1.95 each.

Moleskin found in the foot care department of any drug store works, but not pretty.

Somebody was selling something like what you're referring to in the group buy section recently.

This!

Re: Pad for kydex cheek riser

Thanks, looks like that group buy is closed. Is that Seadeck pad the same as the one offered in the group buy? I think the brand on the group buy was stepbrothers.

Re: Pad for kydex cheek riser

On my Remy 700 I used velcro and the gel part of a mousepad that supports your wrist. I had it adusted so I could almost get a perfect cheeckweld just by the feel of the pad. Doesn't last forever though, they were not designed for sweaty faces.

Re: Pad for kydex cheek riser

I may try that SeaDek product for my PRS stock. Shipping seems kind of expensive for what it is though.

Re: Pad for kydex cheek riser

I'd be interested to know how good the adhesive is on the SeaDek. I would assume since its a marine product its fairly good at withstanding the weather. I will probably send the company an email about the shipping, probably something that could fit in a $5 flat rate box.

I do the same on my M14's plastic cheek rest.

Re: Pad for kydex cheek riser

I sent them a question via the form on their website. They had a prompt response and explained that the shipping should be around $6 via USPS, of course depending on the number ordered. Now just have to decided on a color...

Re: Pad for kydex cheek riser

Good to know on the shipping - I'll call or email. I had just added four OD Hotspots to my cart and tried to check out and was at $15 and some change for the shipping alone. I could handle $5 or $6 bucks shipping with no issue.

I would like to try a couple doubled up on my PRS cheekpiece.

Re: Pad for kydex cheek riser

You could also try Poron. I think this is the material that Kick Eez uses for their Cheek eze pads. I have been experimenting with some I bought on Amazon and so far so good. The cushioning is good and a 12" x 12" sheet goes a long way.

It comes in black with an adhesive backing. On flat plastic cleaned with alcohol it sticks. On curved surfaces I use neoprene cement adhesive along the edges (available at surf shops for wetsuit repairs).

It comes in different thicknesses and densities. I've used the 0.125" @ firm density, and it works well. Next time around I may try the 0.188" @ soft density.
