If you were starting your own firearms manufacturing company and brand name, what products would you make that are not currently available on the market? View this exercise at the list of unique items that would distinguish your brand rather than the high volume mainstream products that would provide most of your revenue.

I would be making STG 44 clones in 7.62x39,308
-Stamped FG-42-1's, semi-automatic with accompanying ZF4 style scope.

-Hunting rifle made on a strengthened and lengthened Arisaka receiver, chambered in 9.3x64 Brenneke
-A Cheaper 338 Lapua but not skimping on quality
-Pocket pistol (striker fired), chambered in 7.62x25, 9mm and so on.

-Make a pre-disconnector designed KS-23

-Survival rifle chambered in .22 Mag, similar to the AR-7 but with 10 round magazines and a provision in the stock for a 50 round box of ammunition

-M1902 style of automatic, chambered in .45 ACP, 9x19, and 10 M/M

I want a heavy-barreled ("tactical") bolt gun in .30-06. I can't find one short of going custom. Probably one of the top three bolt gun cartridges in this country (if not the world) and you can only get it with sporter barrels.

I want an MP5 clone chambered in .30 Carbine with an integral Picatinny rail on top.

I'd also buy the rights for the FS2000, add a last-round bolt-hold open, and make the guts out of metal, not plastic.

A mag-fed 12ga semi-auto that's not a Saiga or Valtro. AR-style controls, picatinny rails, interchangeable chokes, adjustable stock.

And an $800 AR-15, because the world needs more of those.

I'd make a carbine length rifle. It would have a gas line that comes off the barrel and hits some sort of key that would operate the bolt. The bolt would be able to recoil back into the stock to help buffer out the felt recoil of the rifle. Then I'd put a shit ton of flashlights and BUIS on it.

I'd make lefty AR-15's an AR-10's (theres no lefty AR-10 that I know of) in .223, 6.8spc, 7.62x39, 300blk, 6.5 grendel, .308, 243, 260, 7RSAUM and 7mm-08. I'd also make a left scout bolt action rifle.

I'd make guns that were real guns, but modeled after fake guns in video games. Such as Mega Man's Mega Buster or maybe a 5 barreled gun like the Spread Gun in Contra.

I'd like a rem 700 in 30-06 & 260 or 6.5cm all in remington's varmint contour and twisted right for the bullets we shoot. I also like the idea of an all american AK... and the for the AR 180

I would make dirt cheap, under $300 M3 Grease guns so with the $200 tax stamp they came in under $500

Easily assembled Ingram Styled M10's with both a 2" and a 16" barrel so they could either be set up as a carbine or a pistol for CCW...under $300 so tax stamp costs would be under $500 total

Drop in single shot hunting barreled upper frame kits in military calibers for 1911 frames in .308, .223, 7.62x39, and 5.56 x 45

CCW support systems for all of the above, along with accorded sound supression kits from contracted sources, and hard cases for each kit

off the top of the head:

hopefully get a partnership with hornady to produce a 5MM rimfire bolt repeater on a 40x receiver platform with interchangeable barrel system like the sako quad or CZ 455 and to try to keep the cost to under 600.00

a .22lr garand or m14

a smooth bore barrel with interchangable chokes for the savage 212 and 220 bolt shotgun to use with dead coyote type and turkey loads.

a pistol with the muzzle where the breach is to help those along that can't hack it aim more accurately.

a rifle that uses a bolt / arrow launched from a centerfire type casing or blank ammo that's able to pull off 3" 100 yard groups.

an issert that is easily removed / installed that goes into the barrel and chamber of a centerfire or shotgun without damaging the rifling or chamber that can utilize rimfire ammo effectively. or can convert a .308, .338, 300win .223 .204 .17 hornet or similiar "step down" calibers.

a stock on a bolt action that just has the section around the receiver with the ability to add different styles of forends and rear stocks to the customer's needs / personality.

a bolt action that you somehow "flip over" the bolt to accomodate lefties or righties all in one rifle with an ambi safety that is not a tang type.

some sort of adapter that attachs to the right hand located safety and loops over or under the receiver to accomodate lefties.

a barrel that screws together or can be unscrewed apart in 2" & 4" sections to give you 16", 20", 24", 26" etc lengths

a magazine fed pump action that manipulates a mauser styled bolt (no bolt handle / knob) basically a pump action ruger gunsite scout rifle thats a pump and the tang type safety of a savage 110.

I think an AR-18/180 sort of system would be a starter; configured from tubing and sheetmetal stampings, in action lengths for sub-rifle munition (7.62x39,.223, Beowulf) etc.. short action (.260, .308, .358) etc., and long action (.270, 280, .30-'06, .35 Whelen) etc.; with switch barrel length and weight options.

No Magnums; if only the people who really needed magnums bought them, there probably wouldn't be a viable commercial market. For 99% of shooters, if a .270, .280, .30-'06, or .35 Whelen won't do it, it doesn't need doing. Most of the rest do their hunting in Africa, are looking for grizz, are borderline control freaks, or wear some sort of uniform. I hope I am none of them, for lots of folks' sakes.

The lower and mag well should be designed to accomodate all three action and magazine lengths.

Cocking/cycling should be based on a slide action forend, ala the 870.

It should include composite furniture and magazines, and a durably functional Garand-style sling made from synthetic fabric and ruggedly designed composite hardware. No rot, no rust.

A replaceable crown insert for rifle barrels. A replaceable chamber and throat insert for rifle barrels.

I think a bolt action bullpup design for LR, with a proportionately longer barrel, and barrel mounted optic could work. It could combine a rollover cheek rest/blast shield over top of the action. Straight pull bolt operated by a forward biased spring loaded slide action, with an empty mag bolt hold-open like a semi. LH/RH operation should simply be a matter of reassembling the same parts differently. Same for the above system.

An electrically driven Gatling chambered for .50BMG. "Run! Run to the right. Stop; hold up the pack of cigarettes. Damn, the zero <span style="font-style: italic">is</span> off. Stand in front of the car before you pass out..."

An underslung, double barrelled 40mm Grenade Launcher with an effective recoil buffer. Same-Same in 12ga.

What the Hell's the point of a single-shot Grenade Launcher? When you bring hell, bring along an extra helping, ready to serve.

Somebody needs to design a rifle receiver and bolt assembly that doesn't require castings, forgings, or machining. If they can do it for semiauto handguns, and can even employ composites, the same can be done for a rifle and/or shotgun.

Bring in the Izhmash Tigr .30-'06 version .02, provide additional chamberings for .270 and .280, and remarket it here. We need Izmash to stay in business; and we need those chamberings, available on that platform, here. Failing that, make something a whole lot like it. Maybe that brings us back to the AR-18/180 work-alike.

err: Bill you are correct, they are import stamps, and made in Germany. But, the pistol has been made in Mexico & Greece as well..

I really like the idea of over/under rifle/shotgun combo guns - but they have been made before and then stopped so demand must not be there....but i would like to make a wide selection of them available.....i love the idea of 1 gun to do everything
