Hi guys, this is my first post but I have been a lurker on here for awhile now. i've gotten the bug since reading this site and have already had one rifle built at accurate ordnance and getting ready for my second,a .338 Lapua based on a Pierce action and aics stock.I already have a 5.5-22 and a 8-32 NXS Nightforce scope. Now I'm looking at either a IOR Terminator 12-52 or a S/B 12-50.There both basically the same price so thats not the issue, but I like the IOR being MOA/MOA and 100 MOA of elevation. Is the Schmidt quality and glass that much better or get the IOR.Basically all I do is shoot off a bench at paper and enjoy learning how to reload.Thanx for your time.

The 100moa adjustment will be nice on the 338 if you plan on really reaching out there, if not I would go with the s&b but you can't go wrong either way.

Re: Buying new scope,which one?

Welcome to the Hide Steve. The best advice I can provide is try to find both scopes, hopefully at the same store, and compare them side-by-side. Your eye's will be the best judge of which will work better for you. Another option is to ask the fine folks on this site if they have the scope or scopes you're thinking about, and maybe someone local to you would let you test drive their scope at the local range (hint - update your profile with location). The S&B scopes do have good glass, but I don't have enough time behind any of the IOR's to honestly say how their glass compares. I'm a mil/mil guy, but if I were shooting off a bench, and punching holes in paper like you, I would also choose moa/moa for the finer resolution/adjustment steps.

Just curious, why did you choose to go with the 338LM for shooting off the bench?

I live in woodstock georgia, what sux is I cant find any dealers around me with either brand.Maybe somebody is local to me has one I can look at.My nightforce stuff is the most highend I have looked through. The reason for the .338 is I have 3 .308 's and wanted something different.Gonna be fun.Like I tell Mark at AO ,I work on racecars for a living,so this new gun is like a new hotrod!
