Hey all,
I am looking to invest in an armor carrier system. I don't want to brake the bank but I am willing to spend a decent amount to get a comfortable and functional carrier. I have been looking at the Eagle Industries as what is on the link below:
http://www.eagleindustries.com/product.php?productid=51&cat=78&page=1

I would like to stay in the $500-$700 ballpark. Here is the kicker....I need an XL-XXL Carrier. I am 6'4" and weigh about 280...Any input from the double XL crowd would be appreciated.
Any other brands I should look at?? Does anyone offer the XXL in a decent carrier?
Thanks everyone for your input!

Not sure about sizing but 600 seems steep for just a plate carrier or did that have extra stuff I am not seeing? I have a TAG plate carrier and love it. I am 6'2" 225~ and their large I believe it is work quite well for me.

Re: Armor carrier Input for "Husky" folks

The vest he is looking at is an armor carrier, not a plate carrier. It will carry plates AND full coverage soft armor inserts AND a crapload of MOLLE pouches. I'll hazzard a guess that the CIRAS has 50% more surface area than a plate carrier with cummerbund.

Dan,

A little advice on sizing. At only 6'4", you will hate a XXL CIRAS. It will be too long. Im 6'3" and about 215 and I can still get into a MEDIUM if I had too. Its let out all the way and short on me, but it makes me feel like a track star.. Large is the correct size for me. I have a friend that is 6'7" and about 270 and he fits in a large, but want to go up a size.

Here is a sizing chart for the armor panels that fit the CIRAS vests. Look at the numbers and see if it helps.

We still have some CIRAS vests left, give us a shout after the weekend.

I have a Condor Tactical vest that I keep in the trunk of my Patrol car for when I need it

Okay, So I should be good to go with an XL? I think...What colors do you have available in XL and what do they run w/o the armor plate? Also, can these be equipped with the AR500 plate? I want the vest for shooting and practicing for now but would like to get into some training that armor is required.
BTW I have tried to reach Eagle 2 times and left messages with no return calls. Tell them their customer service sucks please.

Thank you for the help! At least Eagles' vendors are good with customer care!

Re: Armor carrier Input for "Husky" folks

Also I apologize for the terminology. I am in fact looking for the "armor carrier" not the "plate carrier". I did not realize the difference between them.
Thanks for all the input!

You can look at the available inventory online. It will show you which colors are in/out of stock.</div></div>

I appreciate it! The only one in stock at the moment is Ranger Green. I think I would like the Coyote Brown or OD Green. Any idea when you will have those back in stock? BTW your prices are far better than what is advertised on Eagles website...That I like! Thank you for the help. Let me know ETA on either of those colors.
