I scored it at 172 6/8. Having never scored a deer before, I will have an official score before Jan 31.

EDIT: Cant get an "official" score until 60 days of dry time. Net score is in fact 172 6/8. <span style="font-size: 14pt"><span style="font-weight: bold">Gross is 181 6/8.</span></span> </div></div>

Re: 1st Annual Biggest RACK Contest Rules and Sign up

I have more mass and deeper forks. Makes a big difference. Width not so much.

Both nice deer none the less.

Re: 1st Annual Biggest RACK Contest Rules and Sign up

Wow, I was going to enter the deer I shot this year (MO Whitetail), but after seeing a few of these I realize I am still playing JV ball. Introduced QDM this past year and hopefully we start seeing some deer like this out there. Nice deer (and elk)!

Re: 1st Annual Biggest RACK Contest Rules and Sign up

Nothing huge but a nice deer for my area with a little bit of character. I will have a score in a few weeks after I get the head back from getting a Euro mount done.

It took me 15 years to draw that tag. If you get it you'd better make damn good use of it lol.

I didn't distribute the prizes to the winners. I only asked a few of the site sponsors if they were willing to donate a prize to the winners of each category. I left the prize selection up to them and didn't want the sponsors to think that I was asking for something and put the winners in contact with the sponsor of the category they won to arrange claiming their prize.

If any of the winners want to post what they got that's up to them. The sponsors were very generous I can tell you that.

I will do a second annual biggest rack contest this year. I have been thinking of adding some different things this year. Maybe largest Doe. Probably will keep it firearm only. This is a dedicated firearm forum and adding archery and I am an avid bowhunter would create another category because if scoring P&Y against B&C wouldn't be fair. I need to contact some site sponsors to see if they are interested in donating prizes again for the winners. I will post a sign up thread in a few weeks and thank you in advance for anyone who participated last year and those willing to do it again.

For what it's worth, I'd like to donate a prize package for this year's contest. I'm not a site sponsor and I am most definitely not trying to piss anyone off, just throwing the offer out there. I will throw a First Lite package into the mix if y'all are amicable to it: Merino Wool Hunting Clothes

Mods--again, if you'd like to keep this to site sponsors, I totally understand.

Cheers,

I.S.

That's awesome and thank you! I hope the mods don't object to a personal donation.

What unit?
I'm hunting 18 for the second year...

I drew unit 44 north of Fairfield. Its on fire though, talked the fish and game and I am taking a rain check tag for next year. Should be tons of elk in that burn next year. Should find out within the next day or so if I drew a leftover tag, hunting season may still be salvaged.

Turns out I am still going to hunt this unit this year, found a few really nice bulls to hunt in the burn of all places. Good luck to everyone...

you had me at RACK... what a disappointment to realize you were talking about horns!
