Re: Form 4 wait time

I just had one take a month to clear. Pretty sure my dealer took his time sending in the paperwork.

my dealer wanted to send mine in for me. i guess to take some of the load off of me, but i told him i would send in my own paper work.

i have read way too many posts bout dealers sending in paper work as a favor only to hear horror stories.

This one is killing me. 30 to 60 days at best still. Bad thing is I was able to try it out the day I sent papers in. Makes it worst. Pay and forget or one a month I say.

Wait wut? My can was approved Feb. 5th. And I had the can in my possession Feb. 12th. Someone is not being truthful with you.

Mini 4 paperwork mailed 8/17/2012. Suppressor arrived at dealer2/20/2013. I use a trust. Also, I thought some might like a little perspective on various AAC cans. From left to right: 762-Sd, 762 SDN-6, MINI4.

5.5 to 6 months is about the time you can expect to wait AFTER the item goes pending. They are still really backlogged. Hopefully the new batch of examiners will help out this summer.

Our club held our annual gun show last weekend - Feb. 23-24. My SOT has tables there, and brought my TBAC 30BA so I could drool over it some more, which I did on Saturday. Sunday morning, he comes over to my tables with a 4473 for me to fill out - the tax stamp had shown up in his mailbox while he was at the show Sat. Wahoo! - I gotta bring it home with me! Only downside is that I'm gonna have to wait a week or more for the snow to melt down enough so that I can get to the range to test it out on the DTA SRS.

Form 4 mailed Aug 24, 2012. Check cashed Sept. 12. Trust. Approved Feb 15, 2013; stamp received Feb. 23.

Form 4 at Dealer February 26, 2013

Hope I can drive over to pick it up this weekend!!

I have seven form 4's pending Sept 14, 2012 that entered problem status Feb 14, 2013. The OAL did not match on two machine guns between the Form 4 and what shows up on the registry. It appears the folded stock measurement shows up on the existing Form 4 the prior owner had, and the fully extended stock measurements is what the ATF wants on the forms. No big deal as I was able to correct the forms and resend along with the problem status letter. The lady I was dealing with at the NFA branch was extremely helpful and polite. She said that all seven of the stamps were held up as they were grouped together. I assumed this would be the case, and was pleased that the NFA branch was using some common sense on how to process multiple applications with the same transferee/or.

I should have my stamps any day due to the delay. As a result, it looks like October pendings in AL on trust should be coming soon.

Picked one up tonight.
Check cashed August 17
Received notice of problems ( they apparently lost finger print cards). January 25
Approved February 14

If its intrastate, they could mail it to you, just like any other firearm. That shouldn't take almost two months. Hell Form 3s are getting approved faster than that.

yes it's within the state of texas, dealer claims it's due to new regulations by ATF. Had to submit notarized form (proof of age at least 18yr/21yr) signed to send to my countys sheriffs dept. once the reciept of that letter returns my can will be sent. (not my 1st can, wont be my last)

Another Thunderbeast 30P-1 is in the works. It took almost three months to transfer from dealer to dealer but that was during the Christmas/New Years season.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but it appears the sequestration will slow things down a bit. All DOJ employees will be taking one day off every two weeks for the rest of the fiscal year. Sure to slow things down a bit.

I called yesterday on four Form 4s that were sent in at the same time on 12/27/12. Between check cashing and pending was 29 days, looking over the posts in this thread it looks like mine was twice the average between check cashing and pending. Seems like things are really moving slowly.

Sent if a Form 1 at the beginning on December, not expecting anything until May at the earliest, seems like 6 months is the going rate nowadays.

Well, I just added an additional 30 days to my wait. I mailed the forms on February 6th and they were returned to me on March 6th. Why? Because apparently, you have to put the PO BOX on the envelope if you want your intended recipient to receive it.

*FACEPALM*

What I can't figure out is why the idiots at USPS in Shitcago held onto it for a MONTH before returning it. Did they think a PO BOX would magically appear on the envelope?!

Forms were delivered on March 7th so NOW, the real wait begins. Hopefully it will arrive before Christmas. :(

I'm right there with ya pending 10/3. Cracks me up, when I file them I forget about it, then no matter how many of these you have the last couple weeks are killer

LMAO, true...................won't cross my mind for 5 1/2 months, but the last 2-4 weeks screws me up

My wait was bad, but this last week has been hell. Approved 03/06/2013 and still nothing! Something is up with the mail around here. I just got something in the mail that was sent on 03/08/2013 got here 03/14/2013 and the distance between the two cities is maybe 50 miles.
