Just had a chance yesterday to handle a BAE Skeetir. Interesting little uncooled thermal optic. I do not have the technical specs but it was pretty cool and awesome to see how far thermal imagery has progressed since the 90's.

What was awesome about this piece of kit is that it is a small piece of kit and looked and felt smaller than my M68 reflex sight. No kidding it is that small. I would love to try this out on my M4.

Yep, good solid kit and I personally like the UTC. This was the big reason BAE purchased OASYS especially in Mil circles as their PAS-13 contracts have been discontinued in almost all branches. Hopefully BAE is getting the supply chain improved which hindered OASYS for a bit of time.

Would be nice if they start gettng out in numbers but with what is currently going on I don't see much help for military purchases.

With the downsizing of DoD budget, I doubt you'll see funding enhancements for military acquisitions. Sit tight, these will eventually become commercial open-source.

Even with the downsizing, I would be very surprised if BAE decided to go open source. Still awaiting PAS-13's to go open, but not holding our breath around here. ;-) Hopefully I will be proven wrong. Thanks IR-V.
