The blessing is knowing he loved you and that he did not suffer an extended, lingering illness. I've found that to be extremely comforting to me over the last four years as Dad's passing was unexpected, too.
We go on because we must. And, because they would want us to. Honor him every day by being & doing your best. Wow... I am humbled. You guys are the reason I do what I do, and do to the best of my ability. Yes, sometimes things get messed up a bit, but I am still only human. A human that my Dad told me he was proud of, but I am human all the same. I appreciate all the kind words, thoughts, and prayers that my family and I have received. You guys are the best.

For that, I am truly thankful. He was a great man, that taught me alot, and gave so much of himself, so that his family, while not rich, was wealthy with love. He is missed.
Now, I am back in full swing of cutting and welding. I am building as fast as I can, but I will not compromise the final product. If I won't use it, it won't go to anyone else's hands. I had some magazines that I used some "what I had on hand at the time" epoxy, and I won't touch that stuff again. It didn't flow correctly, and flat out made a mess. Once it dried, it was next to impossible to remove. I ended up pushing a few magazines out that shouldn't have left, and it will not happen again.
Just to let everyone know, I am not building the long action 270/30-06 magazines anymore, unless someone has the BAR supplies on hand. I simply can't afford to may the $125 to $179 that people are wanting for them. So, I have stopped building these for the time being. The 204/223 magazines, still need some work on the design, so I am not building these magazines either. I hope to get a good final design for them soon, but I am up to my ears in building the 243/308 magazines at the moment.
So, with that said, all PM's have been answered. I apologize for the delay in response, but I will always respond. Things are much better now, and getting better every day!!

Has anyone heard back or more importantly gotten a mag back since December? I'm at the four month mark with nothing to show. I haven't been able to get ahold of Donnie vie phone, email, or PM..
Well crap, I came here to ask the same thing. I sent my mags in a few weeks ago, so if there is a backlog, I'm WAY at the back of the line. I assume he's really busy, but an update would go a long way.
Yeah literally a month ago, the last time we spoke, Donnie told me mine was FINALLY at the top of the pile and it would be done and shipped that weekend. A month later nada.
Spark Notes: I sent him a factory mag + money order (both to his work address because he did not have his home listed at the time) and the magazine got lost. It took him two months to find it. Each time I had to call and dog him about it. Come to find out, the woman in charge of receiving had it. Regardless, it puts me at 4 months waiting for one .308 20 round magazine with no customer support. At this point, with the lack of communication, BUYER BEWARE.
Maybe this could be cleared up if Donnie would respond to this thread.
I hate to see a good thing go south just because of a lack of communication. I know people get busy, and things stack up. I think most people do not mind a long wait, especially for custom work, as long as the information keeps flowing.
I've been there, customers ripping me a new one, working as fast as I could to get the job done. It took a while for me to realize that letting people know what was going on was more important than getting the job done. It sounds backwards, but taking the 20-30 minutes does not slow down the work that much, and yet makes the customers much MUCH happier.
If communication falls off, everyone assumes the worst, and the customer ends up pulling the fire alarm, yelling at bosses and calling lawyers. (man am I glad I don't have to deal with that anymore)
Please take this in the spirit intended, I am trying to help, not hinder. Just drop us a line and let us know how things are going. If your arms turned blue and fell off from working so hard, that's fine, they'll glue it back on, and let us know when you'll be back in operation. If you're behind on work, perhaps it time to not accept any backorders for a while.

Guys I don't know if this has gone south or not. Donnie was EXTREMELY responsive when I PM'd him from this site as early as a week ago. I never did sent him my mags as by bro-in-law (the one with the Savage Axis) has gone dark on me. But Donnie was very quick in his responses even very recently. My guess is he's racing the clock now to get his backlog done, as thanks to our !*(&^%$%#@$#! Colorado Legislature, mags larger than 15 rounds are illegal starting 7/1/2013.

I sent him a 30.06 magazine all the way back in September of last year for conversion. I guess that will never actually happen now. Anyway has anybody had any luck getting the stock magazines back from him? I'm sure he's a nice guy and everything, but the 35 bucks for the spare mag I sent him is a little more than what I'm willing to spend on him as a gift.

I have not received any correspondence from Donnie. Donnie's (z71rat) latest activity is 4-11-13, anyone get any PMs returned?
Just for starters, I need to clear the air a bit. There has been quite a bit of things that I call "life" happening to me, my wife, my kids and such. I lost another transformer on my welder. I ordered another transformer, and when I got it, it turned out to be the wrong one. Extensive phone calls and complaints finally got me a good transformer. I started building again, and then lost my shop due to some liberal individuals complaining about magazines. After some time had gone by, I now have a new place to build magazines.
Once I got started building again, I got one of the most horrible cases of the flu I have ever had in my life. I have been in and out of the hospital, treated for severe dehydration. I was actually getting better, and had a relapse that was worse than the first. All I can say is, I now believe that it is all behind me now. I have all of my equipment and supplies, and everything is working, and I will do my very best to take care of everyone. I can only extend my sincerest apologies.
For anyone wishing to have me return their factory magazines, I will be happy to do so. For those that still wish for me to build their magazines, I will gladly do that, and return the funds back to you for your shipping "+". All magazines will be built in the order as they have been requested. Once I get the few long action magazines completed, I will no longer be building them due to costs associated with them, nor do I have time to work on the 204/223 magazines.
I have killed my savaings account, and have purchased enough magazines to continue building them for a while. Once the new stupid laws are put into place on July 1st, I will have to come up with some new ways to get supplies to build anything. If you have any other questions, please feel free to PM me, or email me. I will do my very best to respond promptly.

Just to let everyone know, once I get the last few long action magazines completed, I will no longer be converting them. The very limited supply of the BAR magazines, as well as the extremely high cost of getting my hands on them, make it an impossibility to keep trying to build them.
I wish that I would have lost access to the shop a long time ago now. After purchasing all new equipment to build the magazines, and converting the room downstairs in our new house, I have been able to spend more time in the building process. I can extend my hours easily now, and I have a super helpful addition in my wife. She is amazing, and we are moving right along on getting everyones stuff back to them. There will be 12 magazines going out in the mail today, and after this weekend, there will be about 10 more. Things are good.
I have 22 phone calls to make, and about 60 emails to reply too today. We are here, not going anywhere, and will do our very best to be as responsive to everyones requests as we were before all the mess that the toll of life has hit us with. Everyone's patience is greatly appreciated, and we will be doing our very best to keep everyone happy and coming back for more. Please keep in mind, with the new laws coming into effect on July 1st, there will be further changes to helping everyone out with their requests. But we must be flexible, even though our political ememies are not.

Your magazine is completed, and I have not done anything with the funds yet. The BAR magazine orders that I have received, were total crap. I would not personally use them, so I would not use them for yours either. I finally got a few good BAR magazines from a buddy of mine down in Texas, and I have covered the outstanding requests for the long action magazines now. Please PM me your updated shipping information, and I will get yours to you shortly.
