Now you can get TWO Marine scopes, consecutive serial number

Let's see if these go for $6k+. Let me know when you see 1823 up for sale and I'll take the old baby back home with me!

Now these two are in much better shape. They were refurbished by U.S.Optics, but retain their 4 1/2 minute windage knobs. The big question is, will they command a higher price being consecutive, or would they have sold for more individually? I'm not so sure very many consider these scopes simply as "collectible" to really make the consecutively numbered feature pay off. We'll see.

They have a few Consecutive Sets, email them, they can tell you if they have the SN your looking for. The winner of the last scope asked about his old SN he carried. They had it, and said they would swap it for him, however when they sent him pics. It was converted to the 50 cal Scope. So he stuck with 1015.

It was converted to the 50 cal Scope.

The M82A3 is outside of my area of interest, but I'm curious how many such conversions were made. I am aware that Unertl made the same scope as the "USMC SNIPER" but with different thread pitches and elevation turret to match the .50 caliber's trajectory, but those were all marked "USMC 50 CAL." and were in the 5xxx serial number range. I didn't know "USMC SNIPER"-marked, 1xxx serial number range Unertls with .50 cal. elevation knobs exist. Learn something new every day, but I'd like to actually see one.

Mine arrives tomorrow.......STOKED..One digit over the one I carried in the early thru mid 90's. They have the one i carried as well but it was converted at Unertl to a .50cal version....Pre MST150.
Great people to work with.....Bent over backward to locate my scope for me.

I'd love to. Would you mind spotting me for a couple years?

Cool, rlm8541, you're one lucky Marine.

DAMMMIT!!!!!!!!!! I pooled my money together and gathered 10,000.50, now it's up to 10,001.00, someone loan me 2 bucks

According to the CMP web site, they have several, basically what ever the military had and wanted to get rid of.

As to shipping, you don't pay shipping on CMP Auction Items.

Arrived in hand!!! One digit off my issued.....Now just waiting for my A1 to be finished up at the PWS shop.

At 5K ea. would love to see pics of what you plan on putting them on.

I have two Eric Reid built rifles an a1 and a3,
That I bought off the hide. I think that they would complement them both very well. If I do win, I can't post yet due to not having 100 post, but two MST-100's will be for sale if I do win this auction.

let's see those two rifles with the mst100's. rifle porn. Good luck on the auction

Suckers closed at $12,001.01..................Somebody must have really wanted them bad.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is the difference between the scopes on the auction and the MST100?

Physical, or historical?

The scopes in these auctions are the real deal United States Marine Corps contract sniper's telescopes that were actually used on the M40A1 and M40A3s.

I'm not sure who coined the name "MST" (Marine Sniper Telescope), but I think it may have been U.S.Optics. Some say that Unertl called his scopes that, but all I have seen so far is reference to "10X Sniper scope" and "USMC Sniper scope". It's possible that in a later period Unertl came up with the MST-100 and MST-150 designations- I don't know. Anybody?

So, were you wondering about the historical significance, or physical differences compared to, say, a U.S.Optics MST-100?

Maybe a little of both I guess. They basically look the same to me, but I am new to this. Not new to rifles or shooting, I shot BR for years. Just curious as to what makes one a $6000 scope and the other not

Historical significance for these that are being auctioned. Though the U.S. Optics MST-100 has improvements, such as a stainless tube and better lens coatings (unless that's bull), the original USMC scopes were never legally released to the public before, hence the significance of these auctions through a reputable source, guaranteed legal to own. I wish I was loaded right now! (I've fell in love with the concept behind these scopes in 1982)

I think the CMP is too busy with the National Matches to keep their Auction Site up.
