OK so here goes. I was looking at my supply of bullets today and to my surprise I found that I am super low on 175 SMK. Any body know of any in stock anywhere in the area? I prob have around 100 left but with a new scope going on the rifle and development to finish that wont go very far.

I picked 500 up on trade a while back from Sagewa from Seattle guns; he's a mod on that forum SeattleGuns.NET

Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone has go-no-go gauges for .308. I had bought a Savage model 10 action and have a barrel I want to install, factory take off I got cheap, and want to put them together. I'd cover shipping charges both ways if someone has a set I could borrow for a few days. Let me know.

Thanks, Mike

Ok - 1 month into deployment 5 months to go. HSSS is building the new stick and I would like to start getting a good supply of 300 win mag ammo to test the rifle and see what it likes. I'm not currently set up to reload. Anyone know where I can find some match ammo in stock or that I can backorder?

I just checked my favorite 5 spots and no one even lets you backorder.
Not sure if this will help, but I've got I've got some reloads left over from a 700 Sendero 300 WM that I'd sell cheap. PM if interested.

Mike,

If you are any where near Snohomish, let me know, I have headspace gauges.

I'm actually up north, work in Bellingham, live outside Blaine. I get down that way on occasion, my oldest lives and works in Seattle and middle son plays wheelchair rugby for the team in Seattle, it's off season for him though. I could figure out a time to come down that way if you are not comfortable loaning thru the mail,so to speak?(can't say I'd blame ya')

I'm looking to do some shooting on Memorial Day and was thinking about going up to the Acme site. I've got a nice assortment of JC steel targets and hangars to use. I thought I would check here to see if some of you guys might be interested. I can fit another person in my truck if you want to car pool from the Kent vicinity.

I wish I didn't have to move dirt and do yardwork all weekend! :( Just watch out for traffic issues going North once you get to the mess caused by the bridge collapsing in Mt. Vernon.

Wow, I didn't hear about the bridge collapse. Which bridge went down?
steveptr, the plan is to get to the Acme spot on Monday morning and spend a few hours clanging steel at various distances out to 900+ yards. If you haven't been to Acme it's a couple hours North from me. Some of the guys in this thread have been there. PM me for details as we won't post the exact location here.

Yeah. Coming from the south you'll want to take the College Way exit, & follow it to Sedro Wooley. That will dump you off on HW20 right after the Burger King. You'll also want to watch out for motor cycles. They usually come out in droves this weekend to run the HW from B-Ham to Mt Vernon. I need to get out for load development with my new 230 Hybrids, but I'll wait 'till the weekend is over, & go up on a weekday. Place will probably be a zoo this weekend.

I'm right of the free way in bothell... Be willing to pick me up? I've herd of this place and want to go. The I-5 bridge over the skagit river collapsed last night.

The bridge that takes I5 over the river between Mt. Vernon and Burlington. Mile marker 227 or something like that. There are a couple of ways you can get around it if you take surface streets through Mt. Vernon though I'm sure it'll be a mess since all I5 traffic will be rerouted. The other option is to take Hwy9 up though I'm sure it'll be a mess too. At least if you take Hwy9 you can just stay on it all the way into Acme.

Also... if this is happening on Monday I may be able to come! steveptr, I live in Bothell too so if I'm able to go I'd be glad to give you a ride if you need one.

I'd like to go but no one here knows me yet, so i don't know where it's at. Besides i'm going out to green water with some co-workers to some short range plinking, early though before all the asshats come out. How long of a drive is it to ACME from where you're at?

steveptr pm inbound with my contact info. Feel free to give me a buzz this weekend to coordinate the ride out there. Planning on having a fun time, and hoping we don't encounter a bunch of ass hats out there.

I go up to Greenwater pits on pretty regular basis for plinking but the big pit only goes out to just over 100 yards. I'm in Maple Valley and Greenwater is about an hours drive south from me. Acme is a couple hours drive north from where I live.

Oh cool I've probably seen you at green water before, i always shoot at the lower pit. I drive a green Toyota 2wd tacoma. I"m looking to shoot beyond 100-200 yards once i get some new glass so i'll probably see you at ACME one of these days.

Sounds good, I've rented scaffolding this weekend to paint some high fascia on my house, but if I get enough done Sat. and Sun. I'll plan on being there to help and shoot. Hope the weather cooperates for painting trim!

Good news for those that are looking. I just ordered 500 175gr SMK from midwayusa, they are in stock right now. I also believe they had them in 100 count units as well. Shop well my friends hope this helps those that have been looking.

I did some math and that many should last about 2 years, unless I start shooting more matches (very likely ).

Pushing this small group shoot announcement to the top. If you have Memorial Day morning free and want to shoot at some steel out to 900+ yards, a small group of us are going to the Acme site (about 1.5 hours north of Seattle). We're looking to get an early start. If you want to come out please PM me and I'll share details. So far I have 4 confirmed will attend and 1 tentative.

I would , but my mom is recovering from back surgery in a nursing home for about another week. The next time I go, I need to do a ladder test with the 230 hybrids I got. Maybe later next week.
You guys have fun, be safe, & let me know if any of my targets, or stands are missing, left up, etc.
P.S. A reminder to NOT set up any targets in the Y of the trail. I have had complaints about ricochets sailing over the access road from there. So no targets without a proper back stop please.

I bet there wasn't much shooting going on up there today. Been raining here all day. And probably fog as well up there.

How did the shooting ACME go with all this rain? Hey i also noticed that you're on the list to some clean-up at FR-70 on the first of next month. I was going to go also but have to work on saturday. I was there this past Sunday and someone left a hood of a car there to shoot. Damn people.

Thats what I was thinking. I wanted to go but I am between scopes and ready to do a new barrel on the 243, which is sitting at 2650 rounds.
