**6 Creedmoor**

The reamer for my 6 Creed from PT&G has a 183 Throat and Ive got the Hornady HPBTS .003" off the lands and an OAL of 2.710, meplat trimmed. I know Hornady has 2 different ogive lengths for these bullets, .706/7 & .721/2, George must be using the .706s. Bjay, my neck is a 275, but you know that already.

Well, I was able to get out early this am for some quick shooting. I didn't have much time or ammo loaded up, but I went away. Here are the results of todays shoot. Again, I was using 42 grains of H-4350 @ 2.80 COAL, 3168 fps. The first paper target @ 300 yds, I sent 3 shots. I could not shoot near as well as Gorski, but I tried. The next is a 3 shot group at 600 yds, did not adjust. Shot the next 2 shots at 656 yards, then 1 shot at 712 which hit the left side head of the silhouette target, I adjusted my elevation down and fired 2 more, my last 6 shots went into the silhouette target at 760 yards. Every shot hit the target, I just need to go and fine tune my dope. I was using shooter off my iphone for my shooting data. The silhouette target's are 14"H x 9" wide. The Sq plate is 12"x12" I did not adjust the elevation or windage after those 3 shots.

When I load up some more ammo and have several hours to spare, I'll go out and really fine tune the dope, but for now, I just want to see what the rifle would do.

Capt, Nice shooting, my best day wouldnt look that good. You shooting the Hybrid? The vertical isnt the best from what I can see, these Hornadys have been giving me great vertical, last weeks 600yd shoot netted a vert of like 5/8" for 4 of 5 shots, the other was about 1.5" higher than the 4. 3 weeks before have 1/4moa verts from 2 groups with 42.2grs H4350.

Hey all,

Anyone using reformed 22-250 Lapua brass in the 6mm Creedmore? How are you forming cases?

I have a 6x47L in my FO rig but am thinking about a case as a backup for my other rem which is my field, practical, do it all rig and backup F-Class rig. Has a 308 on it but want a 6mm for it aswell.

Not Lapua, but Rem 250 brass, just run it thru 6 Creed dies and fireform with 29.5grs RE15. If the 250 brass has been fired a few times you should probably anneal it first, course lapua has been annealed already.

George, do you have a starting point for a GAP bolt gun and 105 Hornady 105 BTHP as far as seating depth/OAL? I haven't been able to find anymore Bergers, and haven't been able to find a modified case to measure OAL. Thanks ahead of time!

I got an upper from GAP in 6mm Creedmore. I picked up some ammo from Cooper Creek to break it in with. I also picked up some brass from McCourt Munitions. With these posts I now have loading data.

I got my modified case from Cooper Creek.

Has anyone shot Ar-Comp or Power Pro 2000 in thier GAP10's in 6mm CM? Is it worth a try or waste of time?

There is also a post on this site titled 6,5x47 Lapua modified case. You send your case to the guy, any caliber and he will thread the case for the Stoney Point OAL gage. Everyone seems very happy with his work.

Anyone shooting the 87s outta this cartridge. Everything google brings up is with the heavier bullets

Funny you should ask, just did some fouling shots with 42.6grs RE17 and 87HPBTs, it was a light load, I know I could've used more powder, but these were just for fouling, I think if I were to feed my 6 Creed a steady diet of these Id probably use Benchmark.

JGorski, appreciate the assistance this week. Long story short, should be running some test loads this weekend. Rifle had a few hangups getting finished and worked out.

H4350 testing at 41, 41.5, and 42gr's
Seated at 2.815" and (3.215" OGIVE ) Measurements show 2.848" and 3.240" on Hornady OAL and my own modified case.
105 Berger Hybrids
Hornady Brass
F210M Primers
Running a 24" Bartlien 1 7:8 twist

9-22-13
41gr 2913fps
41.5gr 2978fps ???
42gr 2960fps ???
42.5gr 3010fps No Psi signs what so ever

The Magnetospeed Chrony acted a bit weird but worked. I think I will seat them out a bit more and retest a little. Accuracy was fine, but I feel it is missing a little something. I was hoping 42gr's would magically be around 3,050fps.

I may toss in a couple 115's and 107's to see what the accuracy does for giggles.

Can only hope the Hybrids shoot better than the ones I tried, like I mentioned in the email my next build will get the rest of the 13 I've downstairs and 200 of the VLDs, too.

What's the shortest barrel length you would go for this cartridge?

Finished out today with a couple more loads tested. I decieded to stick with a flat 42gr load as the velocity came up to 2995fps after about 125 rounds. All with 105gr Berger Hybrid.

This is the 5 shot group with the first being sighter. I shot a 10 shot group that wasn't far off this at all but failed getting a photo. The barrel seemed to take a few more rounds than normal to bring it all together, but I didn't as it kept coming in.
Curious what this load will do once I reload the spent cases I have. The neck tension seems all over the place. Over
annealing I assume, but this is the first brass like this I have really run.

Curious what your starting velocities were with that load. I just finished a similar build and was getting that velocity with 43 grns of the same powder but with CCI benchrest primers... accuracy was excellent tho.

I run 40.2 grns of H-4350 and Fed 210m primers in my 6 Creed and my FPS is 3045 using a 26" Bartlein barrel. I was using 42 grns, @ 3168 FPS with excellent accuracy, but some of my primers pockets were getting loose, so I came down. Another hide member had similar results with his 6 Creed. My elevation is 4900'

I am using the MagnetoSpeed. Seems since switching to this unit about all of my readings are coming in 30 to 50fps slower than with the CED M2. Have not checked against actual dope yet. 2500ft..

I am using a Beta Chrony, but now have a Magneto. I have yet to use it yet, but will soon. It will be interesting to see if there is a difference.

I must have done something wrong while using a magneto at my last outing it seems that my numbers were way low about 1,000 fps low, any ideas what could of caused that much error?

I didn't take the time to really take notes on my finding when I compared chronographs last summer. I should have but was more concerned about getting one that was consistent.

Fastest to slowest
1 PACT (Worked great, didn't care for the print out and like the ease of Magneto much better)
2 CED M2 (All components have been replaced and it still doesn't or didn't work as it did when it was new)
3 Magneto Speed (first version)

I still have all three, maybe I will get some time this weekend to try them out and compare.

I have no idea and have not had an issue with the Magnetospeed running that low. Mine has been really consistent.

Wade, My speeds are right on with Hornady's Ballistic Calculator, when I take my sighters for the 600yd BR comps the first shot is right in there last 3 times. I've got the Pro Chrono chronograph. 41.6-41.9grs H4350 I get 3136 to 3159.

I've used the F1 shooting chrony for years and never had an issue

I'm pretty sure I have the same chamber as what GAP uses in my 6 Creed, the 105 Hornadys are kissing the lands with a ogive measurement of 2.220", oal is about 2.715", but I meplat trim mine.

Guys i need to send dummy round seating 105 hybrids.. how long shoul i make my OAL..hes going to use it as refenrence while reaming freebore..

My chrono was closer to 15 foot from the barrel and the conditions could have effected the readings. I haven't ran this load past 300 yet and it may be a lot faster than my chrono was reading that day. The col is 2.805ish. BTW this is a .236 barrel. As it breaks in it may pickup more speed. This lot of 4350 has given 3k in my 260 with a 130 bergers. On some of the tests it was showing 3130 @ 43.4 and 3200 @ 44.0. I'm hoping to see the velocity settle in and we'll see what the numbers are then.
The CM has been checked against a beam scale several times. This doesn't mean that they are right but it seems unlikely for both to be wrong.

I just ran into to same thing with my 6 creed with a 26" Brux barrel. 42.2 gr h4350 yielded 3050 fps. I have gone up to 43 grains so far with no pressure. I was really surprised with the slow velocity. I figured with the tighter bore that the velocity would be up around 3150.

That's really strange! When I was running 42 grains of H-4350 my fps I think was 3168 with a 26" barrel. When I dropped to 40.2 my fps was like 3056, somewhere close to those numbers without looking at my notes. I had to drop down to the lower charge because the primer pockets on my brass was only lasting a few loadings. The 42 grains was damn accurate!!!!!

If I were running 42.2grs H4350 is be over 3200fps in my 28" Bart. 43grs. my bolt would stick something fierce, maybe would need a hammer to open it. What's the specs on your Brux?

The barrel is a brux 8 twist finished at 26". .236 bore. The reamer has .199 freebore. The 42.2 load shoots lights out, but unfortunately 3050 is not at all what I expected. That's 6xc range. I will work up to a higher load and see what happens. So far at 43 grs the deviation is horrible and accuracy went down hill. I am hoping there is a higher node that shoots as good as the 42.2gr load, and gets me around 3150 fps.

I'll be working up loads this week and will report back my findings. I'm using the same basic components everyone else is:

- Hornady 6Creed brass
- Berger 105gr Hybrid (pointed)
- CCI BR2 primers
- H4350 powder

This will be shot out of a 23" GAP-10, and I'm starting .6gr below George's honey load (41gr) and then working up until I see pressure signs. Since I can't push it out to 300 yards and do an OCW, I think the round robin method will be better at 100 yards. I just think there's too little variance between loads at 100 yards to really see the benefit of OCW. Hopefully I'll find a nice, generous node that's well below pressure signs. I plan for this to be my all-purpose comp gun so this rig will see a LOT of rounds.

Thread is alive!:) mine were pretty slow when braking in.. butabout 65rds its getting faster im expecting fps to go litle more speed aftr totaly broken in..this 26" 1.7:5twist now giving me 3160 ave 41.4 h4350 105hybrids..and groups are getting tighter more concistent than those load test below
the rifle: note. I did not do the myth of shoot and clean process of braking in.when rifle got home i cleaned it once and shoot her straight up.

Those are solid groups, bjay.

For me, the ballistics on this round are so good that I'll be happy with any load that shoots sub-.5MOA at 41grs and over. I don't think it will be too hard to find a node that satisfies those criteria.

I shot this rifle again yesterday 2.1" @520yd same load 41.40 thats .4moa im not that satisfied i think this gun can do better.dont even play with this cal inside 300 you goin feel your hacking:) its so laser lol

GAP rebarreled this Surgeon 591 from 6XC, to 6 Creedmoor. I have 900 rounds through it(105 Hybrids@3100) and it just seems to get better and better. Deadliest coyote rifle I've ever put my hands on.

Amazing shooting, man. Wow. What load are you running for those 105 B-Hybrids?

Same load I used to shoot this 300yds, but with 105 Hornadys. I remeasured it, it's actually a .400". Really anything from 41.5 up to 41.9grs H4350 is super accurate.

41.80 3054 3043 3036 3009. 3016 av. 3031.. why is my fps is so dand slow lol ok im in hawaii i got that and accuracy no great at 520yard maybe half moa with 4140 but ES is junk lol.. should i try 42.++ grain til i get to 3100. On 41.80 no preasure sign..ill go back maybe wednesday and try same load but this tym 2.730 oal i was 2.740 .005 off land.. how much fps diference on adjusting oal..i think if i chase 3100 ill have to be 42.20 is thi too hot?

Remember, I've got a 28" barrel, though I think if you had 2 more inches you'd still be a touch slower, and remember you're shooting a Hybrid, Im shooting Hornadys, could be something right there for the velocity loss. Im getting a high of 3137 with 41.6grs, 3159 with 41.9grs. Ill chrono the Hybrids with my next build.

Even people aboove same barrel lenth twist and load like psinclair they al getin good fps on 41.60..lol i know theirs is longer throat..looks like this cal sweet spot is aroun 31-3150fps..ill load more ammo and try it again..i already tried up ti 42.00 no preasure sign so i might try 42.20-40.. if the 41.40 ES was good i proly wouldve kept it..lol

Yeah, whatever is most accurate w/o too much pressure, that sounds good to me.

41.6 was my pet load with H4350, BUT after I threw my can on I started getting slight pressure signs (cratered, but not flattened primers). Any of you running with a can? If so, anyone had to dial their loads back a bit?

41.6 medium to light load you shouldny not be having this issue unless barrel doesnt like the combo."capt" above had those issue ramdomly presure sign..he tried a litle slower powder h4831sc i just loaded 43gr of these and ill try if it will give me more concistency on preasure
