More of ^^^ please, I am having to guess on all the previous loads posted if your shooting bolt or mag fed semi auto.

Recommend posting SEMI AUTO in your load description for us 6.5CM AR shooters.

Thx !

Oh and let us know how they shoot ss10ring, also post your OAL from bullet nose tip to base of case. Thx

I've found the factory load to be the most accurate bullet/powder combination so I've tried to match that.

</div></div>

It really depends on the barrel/length. I know factory load is around 41.5 for 140 A-MAX. It's right on the box. </div></div>

Just because its printed on the box doesn't mean it is exact. Out of all the factory loads of 140's I pulled (and they were different lots) they averaged 42.7 and averaged 2731 out of my LMT. I personally shoot 41.5 and it is plenty accurate to shoot 8" steel at a K.

Rifle Basix 2.5 lbs
McM Rem Sporter Edge filled
PTG BDL alum BM
NF 2.5-10 in Farrell 30mm rings on top of Pierce 20 MOA base
8 lb 10 oz.

42.1 gr Rel 17 is what I settled on giving me 2950 fps, 8 SD, .5 and .45 MOA. 70 deg F, 41% hum, 24.7 baro. Seating dept test was best a .030" off lands. Gave me 1.5" vertical @ 579 yds. For my rifle, Rel 17 liked the Fed 205m better than my favorite CCI 450 @ H4350. I can pop my 15"x27" LV steel sil out to 1100 yds with this load.

I may have screwed the pooch. I wanted the rifle to balance better so I had 1.5" taken off the back end of the barrel and had the action mid-turned, loosing a total of 6.5 oz. Of course it screwed with the barrel harmonics and the same load give me 2928 fps, 11 sd and 1.05 MOA. Now I'm playing with the new Barnes Match Burners and Ramshot Hunter in addition to Rel 17. So far

43.4 to 43.8 gr Hunter
Fed 205m
Barnes 140 MB set to just touch the lands
2789 fps to 2794 fps with as little as 3 sd to as much as 9 sd.
.37 to .58 MOA for 3-shots, .635 to 1 MOA for 4-shots.

With Rel 17
40.3 gr = 2795 fps, 21 es, 9 sd, .99 MOA for 4-shots
41.3 gr = 2851 fps, 28 es, no sd, 1.38 MOA for 4-shots

I'm planning on fine tuning the 140 MB and Hunter load since the bullets are cheap, are only .25 less BC than the 140 VLD and Hunter is a dream to "throw" from my Harrells meter; cheap too.

Plan to use this rifle in Zak Smith's 24hr Sniper Challenge end of July, but with my NF 5.5-22x55. It will weigh 9lb 1 oz.

After the lightning work.

Has anyone found a good load for 6.5x47L using Varget (AR2208) or H4350 (AR2209) on the heavier bullets (139 and 140s)? My initial tests have been rather inconclusive but I've been reluctant to move down to lighter bullets as my intent for this cartridge is shooting out to 1000m.

Thanks Captain. It was right after the K&M comp. I had lots of practice a few days before. Russel at Scout Supply builds a damn good rifle too !!!

I read the thread and notice there isn't a lot of people using H1000 which gets great reviews on other forums, am I missing something?
H1000 is popular for 338LM, for example, but not 243Win. I think it's a better powder for some magnums than for 260/243/6.5x47/6.5CM, which are the subjects of this thread.

Anyone pushing berger 130 vld 3000 fps in a 6.5 Creedmoor? What are your load specs and gun specs?

Also, anyone know of an update/release on the 6.5 berger 130 hybrids?

Thanks

you fellows using 4350 and 142 smk's i have a question for you! i shot groups last night with my new rem700 witha 1/8 twist bartlien cut at 26in with a tbac 30p-1 and it shot worse the closer i got to max powder have you seen this in your loads?
the loads were 43.5 44 44.5 grains of h4350 seated to 2.84 i think the measurements are all at home. but it has to be right around there mag length in a ai mag

44.5gr H4350 with a 142 sounds kinda warm...any pressure signs?

You likely will find at least one, but probably two, accuracy nodes between 42.0 and 43.5gr.

If you're using OCW for load development, you're charge intervals are too big. I would suggest .3 grain intervals. Another suggestion is to shoot everything through a chronograph. Being able to review velocities and see what your velocity ES is can be a big help.

i loaded some lighter loads down from 42-43.5 in .5 grain intervals last night. ill have to try them first

Rifle: AI AX 260
Tube: 26" Bartlein 1:8
Powder: 42.0 gr. H4350
Primer: CCI #200
Brass: New Lapua
Projo: 139 Scenar
OAL: Varied. I started right on the lands and backed it off to 2.8" in 0.005" increments. I did this half for data purposes and half for practice and trigger time with the new gun.

This is my first venture into reloading. :)

Anybody got an idea what my velocity ought to be? I don't have a chrono yet...

Anyone have 6.5 Creedmoor loads for AA4350 (can't find H4350 powder) and 140 and 124 gr Amax's?

(I've worked up to 42.2 with the 140s with no signs of pressure, but didn't find any clear nodes. Could be my abilities and not the gun, though.)

Thanks.
