I know they are not out yet, but I'm looking forward to getting the details on it. Maybe the 455 has a little competition. You may not have a barrel that is super easy to replace, but MAYBE the barrels on these will be as good as Tikka's centerfire rifles and negate the need to replace it. None the less I'm looking forward to it!

Post up any real intel you may have!!

    Can't have a thread without photos :)

WOW!!! My Tikka T3x is a shooter and I love the smooth bolt action. Definitely can’t wait for this to come out.

I just spent $400 upgrading my 10/22 to be more accurate and adjustable enough that my daughter and I could shoot it. If this Tikka is as good as everything else they make, I'm gonna be ticked that I spent all on that on a 10/22.

I’m looking to hear how the barrel is attached...

I bet its at least threaded into the receiver but man it would be sweet if it could use quad barrels.

I don't think Tikka would give us a press fit. We don't need another Ruger American Rimfire.

Whittaker has these listed for per-order in .22 and .17 for $419.99. Says they will arrive late April beginning of May.

I think CZ will need to up their game. I'm very impressed with my T3x. If this is anything like the T3x, it will be tough to beat. The only drawback might be the lack of aftermarket options. But they will come soon enough.

Saw on Facebook PDC chassis mentioned making a chassis for it! Wonder if it's a less than 90 degree bolt throw like most Tikkas? Just got my CZ built up how I like it for upcoming NRL matches, if this thing has good reviews may be trading it in! Now if only Manners will do their T stock inlet with this one! At least something besides the T4.

Had not seen this. Very cool.
I just cant justify the vudoo right now though I have a pretty serviceable savage mk II.
I can imagine by years end there will be a surging aftermarket of stocks if it shoots like the tikkas I have.

I'm going to jump on the Whittaker preorder for the 17 hmr, and I was just about to go find a new CZ 455 in 17 hmr this weekend until I saw this in an email. My only question is how much will the mags cost and when will they be available.

Hopefully there’s some left love either by Tikka or the new Ruger. It would be nice to have options beyond a Savage MkII or the ultra rare CZ 452 left handed.

Don't care if it's steel or stainless, Cerakote it if you really need it to look silver and have more corrosion protection. Hopefully it's got the same modularity as Tikka's T3's so there can be replacement/upgrade/aftermarket bits.

Please Please Please Sako/Tikka make a LEFT HANDED version too! As long as the action is left handed the barrel spec and other stuff doesn't even matter.

Wouldn't it be nice if the designers made this the same action footprint as a T3 meaning same trigger and stock options with a specific dbm to position the rimfire mags. They'd take off like a wildfire!

Not sure I'd be crazy about a Long action .22lr

Couldnt the bolt throw be adjusted by the bolt stop as it is now on a t3?
Well it could, just depends on the engineering of it.
If tikka would get rid of fancy vices and use barefeet to hold their work product I am sure it would happen....
it would make afternarket stocks easier for sure!

I'll be waiting for the stainless version as well. Seem's like it will be perfect for rabbit and squirrel hunting. Just getting into it and was debating on lugging around my cz455 trainer.

If you want to get yourself a squirrel death ray, find yourself an old winchester 69a that's grooved for rimfire rings. These things are like lasers, usually $300 or less and have great triggers!

I've got a couple..well a few....ok some old Winchesters( I have a problem, I know, but at least it's not like I'm smoking crack) and every last one of them has been a shooter. I think the worst I've got is a 69a from the first couple years of production that still shoots dime sized groups with the basic iron sights at 25yds.

I've got a 455 built for Rimfire PRS and it's great for that but it's kinda overkill for tree rat eradication, the old winnys do it with style!

All that being said, I will be anxiously awaiting these new tikkas, but I wanna fingerbang one before I plunk down for another .22

For sure I will get one but I'll wait for some aftermarket stock/chassis to come out before pulling the trigger. I have 4 Tikkas and none of them sits on a factory stock.

If anyone has the inside scoop on these, would a T3x picatinny rail work on the receiver or is it going to be a new footprint? TIA

I'm in the same boat as some of you. A lot of questions, how is barrel attached, mag cost, I want to buy 2 of them....but guess I will have to wait till Shot Show to see if any info is put out on them.

Definitely interested. I’m glad they won’t be out for a few months. Might have convinced me to hold off purchasing something else soon. Now I get to buy something now, and check this out later in the year too!

The new Tikka T1x doesn’t disappoint. The bolt operates smoothly. The action feels solid and refined — like a good centerfire action. The trigger is excellent — it breaks cleanly with no creep or grittiness, and we’re told it can be easily adjusted below 2 pounds pull weight. The stock has a good feel in the hand and doesn’t flex — unlike some cheap Tupperware stocks you’ll find on some domestic rimfires. In addition, the action has the same footprint as the Tikka T3, so you can swap this .22 LR action into any stock that fits a T3. Overall this was the single rifle this Editor shot on Industry Day that I would really want to own.

Great news on the T3 action footprint. I hope they've gone with a threaded barrel/receiver interface. I'm going to assume it uses a T3 trigger as well.

Judging from my research, Barrel swapping will most likely be the case. I just hope it’s not like the quad and has metal all around. I’m getting one of these to play with soon as they are available. If the actions have metal all around the tenon I’ll do a barrel and a stock. Might be similar Inlet to a quad and if not I may get a flat top rimfire version of a T4 and drop it in that. At the retail price looks like these will be just slightly higher to build on than a 455 which isn’t bad at all. Hopefully the aftermarket takes off for them!

Since it is the same footprint as the T3 I am assuming the action size is the same as the T3? If so this is disappointing to me. I don’t want a 22 with an action that can accommodate a 270. Just my preference.

Look at how long the bolt shroud is and how small the ejection port is on the action as well as how short the bolt itself is, looks like it fits the T3 inlet but has normal 22 Bolt travel. Seems to me this is similar in design to a voodoo with the exception of the dbm and mag. Great in my opinion, the aftermarket won't have to catch up for much to be able to build these things up.

    Hell that settles it.

I was all for the RPR and have a CZ 455 but the fact that I have a tikka t3 and stocks makes me want to get one of these bad.

I can drop it in my KKC stock no problem.

Wonder about getting a enlarge bolt knob for it - (i.e. does it replace as easy as the regular t3).

Any word on the chamber type?
If it is the same as the quad what would that be and how well does it work?
