I think this is another great example of Trump playing 4D chess and totally trolling the lefties.

But, you know, the last time there was something honoring the military on PA Avenue... was after the Gulf War. Since then, we have had more than a few important deployments... and little or no recognition for those who gave a lot of their lives.

On the other hand... it's expensive and time-consuming and maybe a distraction. The money could be used to give everyone from Pvt. on up... a nice little cash bonus for showing up!

Anyway... I'd like to see one! Would be some TV worth watching!

Yea I was having these same thoughts...expensive undertaking. But, if thought of from a marketing perspective, it could translate into more money and support for the military, which could be a net positive for both the military, and the economy.....

Jerry soldiers have to do a whole lot of shit that they hate, and the Army keeps making them do it anyway. Parade, no Parade, makes no difference to me.

So what you're saying is, when there's something you don't want to do, perhaps because you're a pussy, you volunteer the marines to do it? Makes sense.

I think a .mil parade would be kinda neat unless some Abrams broke down in the middle of it, like what happens with Russia on occasion.

I am sure the jarheads will volunteer themselves. they get another chance to walk around all pretty and shit, show their Barnum and Baily-esq uniforms off, hitting on tranny sailors in the Pentagon and shit, let the jarheads do it, don't waste the Army's time, they are busy. Q&D you know you want to march down Penn avenue with your fat ass stuffed into a uniform, go join them.

I want to be in the parade!...said no soldier ever. Hell, the parade part isn't even all that bad...it's the month's worth of weekend practices, drilling, equipment prep, and week after recovery, repair, and cleaning that really sucks. If you're really lucky, you'll get to do this right after or right before deployment and it will be raining and cold. The only way you'd ever get me to do a parade again is if you let me ride a Camel.

ArmyJerry with the Marine hate as usual. Boots usually do play the service rivalry card. Marines don't starch uniforms or polish boots anymore either, we got rid of that shit in 2002 when we transitioned our camouflage uniforms for about $100k instead of wasting tens of millions of dollars, and everything shiny is anodized so no Brasso either. And recall traitor and former Army SPC Manning was the OG tranny too. Moving on though...

But I do agree a military parade is a huge waste for politics. Transportation, housing, and massive shit ton of practicing right and left wheel marching when land navigation, polar fire missions and advanced marksmanship needs to be the focus, never mind the intense focus on making sure ribbons are properly spaced above the pocket when the closest civilian will be over 25yds away and are completely clueless on what is proper anyhow. Finally, the complete insult in making them remove their bolts from their rifles because some bureaucrat will be worried about Pvt Schmuckateli going rogue in front of the reflecting pool is, well, an insult I would hope the troops will be spared from.

Do not fuck with a guy that is willing and able to go back a few centuries in war fighting technology to get the job done. I never admired SF for the cool shit that they had but I always have and always will admire SF for their ability to adapt and use anything/everything available to fight.
