400gr. Not sure on the shaft. Pretty sure it's around 28 inches. 65lb Mathews Monster bow I've had forever. 100gr Slick Trick broadheads. You know...stuff only commies would use.

Figures... If you're really running a 28" shaft with 100gr broadheads on a 65lb bow, you should probably bump it up to a 340 spine. That 400 gonna be flippin and floppin worse than a RINO. But, if you haven't done shit to that bow in 'forever' (e.g., maintained it at all), then you're probably closer to 60 in which case 400 spine would be alright.

It's not so bad with a compound bow. Once you get passed the hump, the let-off is as high as 80 something percent in decent bows. For the commy, it's looking like between 65 and 80%. My Quest Primal is 70lb draw and 75% let-off. Once you get her back, it's almost like you're not doing anything.
The trick is keeping fit enough to slowly, and in a controlled manner, draw a 70lb bow with buck fever coursing through your veins.
Yeah, I get how a short bow with cam and idle wheel works, it's just that it has to be an annoying draw to shoot it all day at the target range and not in the field. Obviously when game hunting you're only needing to pull it back once and not multiple times as you would on an archery range.

Eh, it's not so bad. I've fired hundreds of arrows a day every day for weeks with this bow and didn't really suffer any. Not like when I was a kid doing this shit and got shoulder impingement syndrome. Fuck that noise.
Sucks not working right next to a bow range anymore. Best I can manage now is a 20 yard shot in the backyard. The bow range went out to 90 yards with lots of 3D targets from 10 to 90. I got to a point where I could put 3 in a raptor target (dinosaur) in the very tip of his tail at 35 yards, hit the pronghorn at 60 in the eye, and hit the standing grizzly in the snout at 90.
I've still only managed to kill a squirrel while hunting, but I shot that squirrel right in the face at something like 10 yards while it was running along the limbs in front of me. I think this year is the year I get a deer or hog with the bow.
70 isn't so bad on the newer bows.
With a real backpack is doesn't help.
The speed bows are not overly smooth on draw cycle.

Crossbow pistols were fun as a kid. So fun in fact I got shot in the knee with one when I was 7.
Every time you post someone somewhere buys a case of 223 and 308.
In case this wasn't in jest.
1. 70# isn't hard to draw on the new bows.
2. Wearing a real backpack (frame style) it affects your ability to draw the bow, not uncommon to do this while hunting in the mountains.
3. The newer speed bows (around 350 fps AMO) have aggressive cam profiles thus breaking them over towards the "let off valley" isn't
as nice as the slower versions.
