So I re-purposed my landscape trailer into a mini toy hauler so I could catch a rest between kayak runs or dirt riding. The trailer has air, flat screen, futon, tool box, cooler, toiletries and such. This thing is a blast and just enough to enjoy a day or two of activities or beach.

Lets see what you have.

technically the red Ford could handle 13,800 pounds and 750 on the bumper but I still up sized to a Chevy 2500 diesel to tow safer, now thinking its too big for what I really do with the toy hauler thinking about going smaller.

I like yours better. Don't think I have enough motor to pull it.
Bet there is a whole stable of fun in there!

We have a living quarters horse trailer, when we're taking the RZR to go play I'll tow the 18' car hauler behind it with the RZR on it. I wish the RZR would fit in the horse trailer where the horses would be.!

Shadow has an aircraft carrier for a toy hauler. You guys are livin large.
I like Jefe's set up. My little rig fits in most places outta sight outta mind. It looks like a construction trailer so I don't get booted out creative parking spots at the beach.

A slalom kayak ? or rotomolded lokalike

PPB that's actually a really cool setup. I like what you've done with the available space. Let's see the outside!
My newest "toy" hauler is really more just a working trailer, and it is still on order: A 30 ft. tandem dual-axle gooseneck flatbed equipment trailer that will haul pretty much all the equipment/tractors I have. Not due to arrive for another two weeks, but if the thread is still active, I'll post anyway.

Mine looks like a 7x12 construction trailer from the outside. I kept it plain on purpose so it will not draw attention. Last week in NJ I parked in a construction site beside the bay. No problems. Backed up right to the water. Awesome time. I would have got bounced with a pro looking set up.
I like simplicity. The no frills thing is nostalgic to me. Just like the old days when you made due with what you had.
No disrespect to any of the other haulers here. They are outstanding. I enjoy my little nest.
There are some excellent videos on trailer conversion projects. Some of these are stunning. Youtube with give you some great ideas.

It’s legal because it’s being pulled behind a gooseneck right? You wouldn’t do that with a ball hitch right? I’m asking cause this is what I would do. I don’t like true toy haulers for the most part.
I believe the first trailer needs to be gooseneck or 5th. But I don't have something to prove that.

What are you folks doing for power??

As for power the 7kw Kubota low pro diesel has that job.

You can't have a big enough truck when towing. I see people towing crazy shit with Explorers and Subarus. Might be okay until it gets windy or road conditions turn to shit. Keep the 2500, down size engine if needed I guess but having that heavy diesel over the front tires has many advantages. If you stick with chevy the physical size from 1500 to 3500 is the same. You would gain nothing but loose alot of capability.
Factory tow ratings need to be taken with a grain of salt. Sure the F150 could do 13,000 lbs. But Ford does not say for how long. 13,000lbs is nothing for 2500/F250 diesel. Why work the shit out of something when you can sit back and relax knowing you have plenty to spare.
I see trucks pushed to the limit and others that over buy and only use 1/2 what the truck can do. I am here to say pushing the limit wears stuff out FAST.

lol he has a casting couch in his trailer

Not only that but the "POLICE" Ball Caps are even more concerning. I mean sheeeit, if he's only playing Cop on the weekends that's one thing, but if he's scheduled himself for a full 40 hr work week pulling Graves, and call outs, he's scarier than I thought. I'm telling you, I think there's a body stuffed away in there somewhere. Just say'n........
