Tikka T1X

Yes, but any one that has been on the map with the T1X, will know that the magazine is attach to the rifle with bottom metal, and the release button is on that too, and that bottom metal is same shape as those normal plastic magazined Tikka rifle are.
On the CTR is different type of bottom metal, like you know if you have one.
You may see the magazine release button in this picture.

I could try tomorrow take one T1X apart, and try that to a CTR stock, atleast the bolt diameter is still the same on these rifle, like they are in every Tikka, no matter the caliper.

If you are taking a T1x apart and it's not too much trouble, could you please post some pictures showing how the barrel attaches to the action. Thanks.

Any additional information you could give use would be appreciated.

Do you have any stocks available that take the standard T3 bottom metal that you confirm compatibility? I know Tikka stated it was the same stock, but you never know.

Potentially I'd like to place an order for an aftermarket stock now, but I'd hate to end up with a $500+ stock that doesn't fit.

I've also been looking at the Vudoo Gun Works barreled actions as a starting point, but don't think i'm ready to spend that kind of money.

I would love to see some pictures of the bottom of the action, barrel attachment method, trigger guard and magazine if possible. Thank you sir.

Ok homies, here´s the pictures.
Rifle that i put the T1X was Tikka T3X wild boar, that use same magazine that CTR, it use same bottom metal.
T1X works great on that stock, no any kind of probems at all.
Check the pictures.

Tikka T1X wild swine trainer, only available in Finland :) .... just winding you up:p....
That what the rifle looks in 1/1 Tikka T3X stock.
Very nice balance, and i like that "adulta" model rubber pad, gives 1" more LOP to the rifle, im about 6,5", so that T1X stock with that hard plastic butt pad is a bit goofy to grown up man, but for the child and small size people that might be good, these dont have recoil anyways.

Thanks. Is there any chance you could post some pictures of the barreled action out of the stock? I'm very curious to see how the barrel is attached to the action.

This, please and thank you! Believe there’s a few folks here that would love to see the barrel attachment setup and magazine, mag well, and mag catch arrangement.

Really appreciate it, Viking.

Thank you for the pictures. Makes me excited for the release. How heavy does it feel compared to the regular T3/T3x? Is it like a light weight feel or does it feel like their varmint rifle weight?

Does cycling the short throw feel weird compared to the normal T3.

Got my boy a Ruger Precision rimfire but I might be buy 2 more rimfirea this year if the tikka works out.

T1x in a KRG bravo would be stellar

I have one on order and was supposed to have it by now, but I guess the ATF is holding up the show. I plan on doing a detailed review of the rifle with numerous 6x5’s at 100yards with different brands of ammo the second I receive the tikka t1x

I didn't see anybody posting the latest email correspondence from Whittaker Guns to their pre-order customers. My interpretation is maybe mid November for the 22LR models to hit US shores.

Got some news, although it’s not very good.

Finland plans to get a whopping 300 unit out before they go on summer holiday/shutdown. That sounds great, until you find out the 300 units is for worldwide distribution and for some untold reason, they are going to be in 17HMR.

We are trying to get clarity on how many will come to us.

What i know, is that this rifle has been ordered 20 000 units from the Sako, and they have been manage to make these about 600.
60 of those are sold in Finland, and rest of these are shipped out of the country, and i think that most of those 540 is coming to States, but this is 17HMR.
So the 22LR is coming later on this year, and no one can tell the confirmed date for that, but good thing are nice to be wait, right guys :)

Probably because in Europe the HMR is quite popular for hunting rabbits/hares/crows....

That might be true.
17HMR listen in Finland to the hunting rifles, before that it was unknown caliber, and defenently was not popular.
After September 2016 this small caliber is rocket fast going to be one of the most wanted small game caliber, and i know why.
I had CZ455 varmint till i sold it and bought second Tikka CTR, but i will buy 17HMR rifle in the future, maybe it is T1X, because it is so versatile.
For sure it would be cool if they would make it barrel changeable, but i dont mind that.

I am in New Zealand waiting patiently for this new Tikka also.
I spoke to Beretta NZ who are the Sako/Tikka importers for this part of the world and they have said they are expecting the 17hmr T1x to land here in September (initially was supposed to me April/May) they don't have an ETA for the 22lr yet but are hoping it'll be this side of Christmas.

So hopefully this rifle will be in the hands of shooters in the next few months and can start seeing some review.
I'm pretty confident it'll be a home run as we know what to expect from Tikka stocks, triggers and barrels so provided they haven't screwed up the action this rifle should be a good 'un!

Was undecided on an optic for it, the new Diamondback tactical will be perfect. I guess I have to wait for the scope anyway, hopefully by the time the rifles are here there will be a magazine solution better than me fabbing a block of wood into an adapter for AICS

Might be better off just fab'ing a block of delrrin that holds the mag, and sticking that in a .308 AICS mag body (ala Accurate mag)...just thinking out loud here....

We are here to share information and ideas, and that is a great one

Better yet, 3D print an adapter magazine that mimics a standard AICS mag body to insert the T1x mag into. The adapter locks in like the full-size mag, and make a catch in the adapter to retain the T1x mag. Tha's what I plan to do anyway!

Well if you're selling, you could become "the guy" on the hide for the T1X trainer crowd. I have a limited knowledge of additive manufacturing and don't have a 3d printer

Im not sure, but if any one has this magazine, Tikka T1X and AICS magazine eating chassis, please take a test and try will this magazine work for Tikka too.
https://www.milehighshooting.com/vudoo-gun-works-22lr-magazine-10-round-aics/

Like you see, this magazine feeding is on the front of the magazine, and with Tikka T1X needs this feeding to be taking to the front of the chamber, like all 22LR rifles, 17HMR and 22WMR caliber guns do, so i think this might work just fine in Tikka too, but the feeding height is the question mark, if it goes too high or stay too low, it wont work.
Remember that this rifle on the photo is 17HMR, not 22LR, so the magazine i smaller in the 22LR model.

I'm pretty sure that magazine won't work, as it has the rounds too far forward. The T1X appears to have the magazine further to the rear of the magazine well of an AICS chassis. Hence why I think it need a specific AI patterned magazine made for it, or and adapter that took the magazine body of the T1X, and encased it in a plastic adpater that then slid into the metal body of an AICS magazine.

I have my ctr in a McMillan right now with a Manners ordered to swap the ctr to. I plan to put the t1x in the McMillan. This double wait is killing me since both went silent. Manners keeps saying 4-6 weeks. T1x is maybe next month. It feels like the slowest race, but I expect to like them both so I will keep waiting.

According to a picture of the barreled action in a swedish gun magazine, the magazine well in attached to the action, just like the Sako Quad. So it should drop in a chassis just fine, and being able to use the factory magazine. ?

Thank you viking78. I've been trying to find a pic like this for a long time.
