Chinese Chicken on the High Seas

I believe that the Chinese are seeking a confrontation in the South China Sea. Remember they have absolute control of the media and pretty good control of other channels of information inside their country. Even Google is complicit and has sold out to them. At this point they already have potent abilities, particularly land launched anti-ship ballistic missiles. They see the long term as a win-win no matter the outcome of the opening salvos.

(1) If they can make the US back down, they win.
(2) If the US enters an extended low grade conflict then (a) their propaganda machine will have their people demanding to build a military to beat the US and (b) eventually Americans will tire of the conflict and elect politicians who will move the goal posts, declare victory and leave. (c) US allies (esp President Duterte can not be counted on) they will probably be able to get him to stab us in the back.

Agreed there really would be no winners with a full on conflict with the Chinese in that area but actively provoking a fight will eventually force someone to defend themselves.

Or we can just nuke the stuffing out of them and send them back to the stone age and take care of their military threat & their messing with our economy at the same time. As a plus we probably won't have to worry about any US Debt they hold if they are not around...

You have any idea what that's gonna do to the shower curtain and sandal industries? Think, man, THINK.

If the PLAN (Peoples Liberation Army Navy (giggle)) wants to play bumper cars send an oiler instead of a destroyer, a fully loaded oiler displaces 41,000 TONS whereas the USS Decatur displaces 8886 tons (fully loaded) and the PLAN cruiser is about the same size as the Decatur, it would be like trying to push a semi off the road with a 1/2 ton pickup and the oilers aren't really armed so the Chinese couldn't claim a military provocation.

The currency manipulation jig is up, so is their one sided deal that they put together with Bush Sr and his boy Clinton, they are preparing for distractions internally while their economy tanks.

On the other hand, you have two douches driving ships in close proximity. One is driving while Asian and the other, well, lets just say he is a US Sailor. I honestly don’t know what one is more dangerous driving ships in close proximity there days.

Buahahaha...this is not what I expected. As I was scrolling through I thought that said choking your chicken on the high seas! I had no idea what I was about to open. Thank you for not showings chinaman choking his chicken!

I think you've had too many drumsticks. Your brain stopped tickin', my friend.

Is it just me or did they use the same camera that caught Nessie?

Pretty sure that is an intentionally degraded scaneagle or Hawklink FMV frame. The picture always looks better at 60 frames a second, rather than a single crappy frame. Looks like it might be an IR sensor to boot (which are even crappier).

LOL! @PPB That picture reminds me of an old joke...

Why do Chinese people have slanted eyes and buck teeth?

To which you make the same face that is in that photo but gesture as if you're rubbing one out. LOL!

And for those who might be offended, be it known...I'm half Chinese. If you can't laugh at your heritage sometimes, then you're just another SJW....

You can't view this crap by Western standards . China's military sucked hind tit thru their industrial Revolution . They were told be patient and you will have your day . The Chinese Military is a faction near unto itself with some serious delusions of grandeur. One of the things on their wish list is the aquisition a fielding of 200,000 strike fighters . If that doesn't set off alarms then there is a problem . The Economists and Chinese Government want atable trade and economy . The military wants it's promised day . Wading in the blood of it's perceived enemies .

I don't know if we can so easily dismiss China as a nation of stereotypical Buddha-head drivers as Slop-Ears seems to be signalling. I had a lot of Chinese (ethnic, PRC, RoT, etc.) acquaintances and a few friends back in school. What they lack in technology they make up for in numbers, sheer will, and persistent thievery.

I like the Chinese people, and China, really do.

Keep telling yourself that....
Then just remember that this truly evil vile Communist government they have now is just one of an endless series of vile rulers they have had over the millennia... They are not the freedom loving folk some people seem to think they are...

The Chinese army is Not actually the Chinese army, it is specially the Communist Party army under the direct control of the Communist party (and the current dictator for life).

There is no good Chinese and bad Chinese in power...
They are all just playing a game with you... in the end they want to rule all of the stupid inferior races since everybody not of their master race is inferior and worthy of being servants... Sure they won't tell you that to your face... till you are rotting in a hell hole prison and they like to throw it in your face just because they can...

Take a look at how they are treating the ethnic minorities in their northern areas if you want an idea of what they think of everybody else..

On a more serious note...Just remember, China is facing more of a threat of a civil war than we are. While China appears large, organized and armed (and they are) there are cracks within the society that are growing larger with each generation. The PRC government has a tiger by the tail now, they can't put the genie back in the bottle and they can just let it loose. Funny, but that's how freedom works. You get a taste for it, and that desire spreads like a virus. Propaganda only goes so far for controlling it, and it never works on everyone.

NPR interviewed the chinese ambassador yesterday morning. The ambassador was complaining about the US pondering the idea of shutting down chinese spy rings (my words) at universities. The reporter asked what about foreigners and reporters not being able to travel to certain parts of china like tibet and whatever province where the (weigers?, wiggers?) live. ~Response: Tibet have wary high altitude. Not safe. Could make people sick. lol

Chinese fresh off the boat remind me of democrats or party-over-all republicans. They'll repeat the oddist off the wall shit like it was truth handed down from God. Generally intelligent people, but damned stupid at the same time.

While that is a possibility, China is not going to have freedom break out like people think.
While they have had some "freedom" recently, it's actually just economic freedom for the well connected class. Political, social & religious freedoms have been systematically and brutally repressed without result.

The government has an iron grip on all the communication networks already and already actively censors everything down to people's text messages to eliminate anything they don't like... you send a text message with something they don't like.. it never makes it & you get put on a list for a visit.
So actual news can be very slow to get from one area to the next.

Unlike other countries, the Chinese Communists have no problem killing as many millions as it takes to keep them in power & have their own army under their own direct control to carry it out. A small sample was proved back the last time protesters tried to gather in a square... and since then just mentioning it will get you thrown in jail. They will not hesitate to have the army kill by the hundreds of thousands at a go in order to maintain control. The current dictator for life has shown that unlike his recent predecessors, he believes power is his by right & he will maintain it at all costs.

Take a look at the Brutal repression of Uighurs that China has been doing for years now (which we turn a blind eye to, because since they are Muslims, apparently it's fine to do wholesale genocide and oppression). The best reports smuggled out of the area show hundreds of thousands either vanished or in "reeducation camps". The conspiracy theorists here that worry about FEMA camps in the USA should take a look at North China to see how it actually happens in a big way in real life.

I don't foresee Chinese Communist rule coming to an end from internal pressures. I see us having to fight a war with them and how bad that is we don't know. But when the war comes, either we go all out to win and practically wipe out all their modern facilities, or we loose. The Chinese lost around 1 million conscripts in the Korean war and they count that as a Glorious national victory....

Yes, and your government wants to give them control of the inter webs here in the US! You got any idea as to why that might be?

Chinese economy down.....what do you wanna bet Soros is buying in ? Maybe he doesn’t hate DJT (and his trade policys) as much as I’d thought. I’d guess he is shorting Tesla, but I think that isn’t worth the chump change bother for him. Watcha wanna bet we’re gonna hear ole’ Elon bitching about Soros pigpiling on with all the other shorts ?
C’mon......go along with me on this one....After all, the Ringling/Barnum & Bailey circus that we put up with the last three weeks, how far into the neighbor’s yard could I have eff’d up and thrown the lawn dart ?

(Oh, and by the way..........how about them great big brass balls on Kavenaugh for hangin’ in there ?)

The unofficial response from the US Navy should have been to blow that Chinese ship out the water.

The official response from the US Navy should have been "We were conducting routine patrols in international waters one of our ships was threatened by a unidentified object we made the unidentified object go away we think the unidentified object is now at the bottom of the ocean we will continue to make any and all unidentified objects that threaten our ships go to the bottom of the ocean" "We will not be taking any questions have good day"

Funny you should say this. I think its been pretty quiet with Iran and Russia lately... (me, whistling, looking up at the sky, and then down at my shoes)...lots of big open spaces out there on the ocean, with no sensors around to record things. Just a suspicion on my part....

This incident had me wondering yesterday....

Perhaps the Chinese chip got as close as it did also because something was chasing it. The Chinese ship commanders are some wiley tacticians, and getting close enough to another ship would mask/clutter their acoustic signature. Just spit balling here... I find it odd that a sensor was conveniently airborne during this episode as well.
