On a related topic......I had my first ever colonoscopy yesterday.

MMMM loves me some Magnesium Citrate.

Still filling the pipe.......its a little dicey deciding what you will get when you get the urge to pass gas.

I remember the nurse saying she was going to add the sedative to my IV and I would be under "conscious" sedation - able to hear and respond but unable to feel.

Well that was BS because I remember seeing her hit the plunger on the hypo than I was waking up in the recovery area.

If they took advantage I wouldnt know one or the other.

Had a similar procedure recently but needed the gastro tract done as well, they did not find it funny when I asked for the oral one to be done first. Luckily I did not wake up with a shitty taste in my mouth.

Been bout ten yrs for me. Gotta appt in February for another. I didn't appreciate the dartboard they drew in lipstick last time. Bastards.
Had similar experience of waking up feeling dirty. Necessary evil.

After my Diverticulitis, I got scoped. They found some polyps, removed them as part of the scoping process and sent them out for biopsy. It was painless, if they hadn't told me, I wouldn't have even known they were doing it. They came back negative, so all was good.
Keep on joking and making light of it, that's a good thing. But, keep it in perspective of how important it really is. It could literally save your life.

I have to do the scope bi annually to keep up with my condition. Years ago a had 2 really cute nurses “prepping” me for my procedure. I was making wise cracks at them and they were more than willing participants in the banter. Right after they gave me the knock out drug and told me to count from 10-1, I looked at them and they had huge nefarious grins on their faces. I thought, “uh-oh, I guess I didn’t think this one through...”

I’m sure they were more than professional while I was unconscious. Just because that would be my luck!!! ?

Another time I was razzing a nurse in fun and she warned me that if I was too hard on her she would make sure the anal scope would proceed the oral scope and that my insurance only pays for one camera!!! ?
